Theworldisdiverseandflourishing.Humanityhaschanged,andwithit,broughtinaneweraofprosperity.Malesandfemalesstillexist,butthespectrumfromwhichhumanityiscasthasbroadened.Withtheintroductionofalpha,omega,andbeta,humanityhasevolvedevenfurther.Insuchaword,Dr.AndrewKnox,knownenvironmentalresearcher,ishappybeingabetamale.Ithasmadehislifeeasierbybeingmiddleground,andasmuchassomewishhewasonewayortheother,he’shappybeingwhoheis.Thrivingeven.Heworksinaworldrenownedresearchfacility.Hemakesfriendseasily,andhisprojectsarealwaysfunded.Heevenfoundsomeonewhohethinkshecouldendupmarryingifthingscontinueintherightdirection.That,andthevacanthousenexttohisapartmentbuildinggetsboughtbyanewneighbour.Acute,butcautiousomegawhoreliesonAndrewasabetaforhelp.Andrewcouldn’tbehappier.Helovesbeingahelper,andloveswhenpeoplerelyonhim.Allinall,Andrewreallythinkshehaseverythingmade.Thatis,untilaresearchprojectwithshoddydataisthrownbackintohisfacethathehasnorecollectionofworkingon,andallofhisreputationdisintegratesinbetweenoneheartbeatandthenext.Heartbroken,itisn’tuntilAndrewwakesup,chainedtoawallthateverythingbecomesclear.Hebecomesatestsubjecttooneofthescientiststhathetrusted.Thatheexpectedwouldneverharmhim.Thelifehehadknown,wherehewasarespectedresearcherwasrippedoutfromunderneathhim.Hisidentityandeverythinghe’severknownisstolenfromhimfromacrazedresearcherwhohehadtrusted,maybeevenloved.Hehastorelearnwhoheis,whatheis,fromscratch.Thankfully,hehasonepersoninhiscorner.Hejustneverexpectedtohavetorelyonsomeonewhoseshouldersweresosmall.Thisisana/b/ostory,andwillhavethosetropesassociatedwithit.Ihopeyouenjoy:)
