They were shaking with suppressed laughter, hands clamped over their mouths to muffle any sound. But deep down, they silently applauded Aron. Only he could pull off such a feat: infuriating Es to the brink while sohow also amusing her.

Es gave a small shake of her head, pushing her irritation aside as she shifted into her composed, professional deanor. "This is Mr. Aron, my secretary," she said, her tone crisp. Then, with a calculated pause, she added, "And I have a gift for you."

She turned her attention to the man opposite her, who was slowly regaining his composure, and her voice dropped a few degrees in temperature. "What did you say? Divorce? Fine. But before that, why don’t you take a look at this file?"

With theatrical confidence, Aron strolled forward, a mischievous grin plastered across his face, and handed her the infamous file.

Es accepted it, her fingers brushing against the cover. Her expression faltered, the edges of her lips twitching as if she might break into laughter. The file—oh, the file—was covered in velvet. Not just any velvet, but the kind that scread, Look at ! I’m fabulous!

This man. This man. He didn’t just bring a file. He brought drama, flair, and a velvet-covered mic drop.

Es clenched her fist, her fingers tightening around the velvet-covered file before she passed it to Kai with a cold, unreadable expression.

Kai, ever the professional, grabbed the file with an almost exaggerated sense of indifference. But the mont his fingers brushed the surface, his irritation faded for a second, replaced by an almost bewildered awe. So soft, his mind humd as he turned it in his hands. Softer than the cloth he was wearing, softer than anything he could’ve imagined. Yet, his face betrayed nothing. His years of training as a lawyer, and his mother and father’s strict discipline on maintaining a perfectly composed exterior, had prepared him for this.

But, inside? Inside, his thoughts were drifting away like clouds on a windless day.

He flipped the file open, his fingers idly rubbing the back of it as if it was so luxury silk. His composure was cracking, and it didn’t help that every soft touch of the file made him feel like he was losing his grip. But, no. He was Kai. And he wouldn’t let a file of all things ruin him.

That was until he saw the contents.

His patience snapped. The file was slapped forcefully against Es’s face, a sharp noise breaking the silence. "You! How dare you!"

Es’s eyes glinted with amusent as she sneered, arms crossed defiantly. She stared at him, unbothered, her tone dripping with mockery. "What? Does your family have so sort of bloodline curse? Are you all dood to scream, ’How dare you!’ all the ti? Huh? How dare you, indeed."

Her words sliced through the air, as her gaze t his, challenging him to respond.

The tension in the room crackled like an electric storm, the elders standing at the precipice of a mont that would define their futures. The silence that followed Es’s cold, cutting remarks hung heavy in the air until one of the elder’s—a man with silver hair and a once-intimidating presence—stepped forward, his voice hesitant but laced with authority. "Kai," he called, his eyes narrowed in confusion, "What happened here? Why are you acting like this child?"

Kai, however, didn’t acknowledge the question. He stood rigid, fists clenched at his sides, his gaze fixed on Es as though she were the very embodint of betrayal. His voice ca out in a low growl, but the fury in it was unmistakable. "And just look at you, Rose," he spat, his words dripping with disdain. "You think you can betray us all and get away with it? This—this is who you really are? I can’t believe I ever trusted you."

Es’s eyes narrowed, her expression unchanging, but inside, she could feel the stirrings of victory. Everything was just going according to plan lookong at kai acting Es really wished to kiss him now and ask .

’Who appointed you as a lawyer? You’re way too handso to be stuck in an office—why not pursue acting? ’,But then, she playfully slapped herself ntally, ’No, no! She can’t let anyone else steal glances at her gorgeous hubby!’

She took a slow, deliberate breath and stepped closer to him, her heels clicking against the floor with a sharp rhythm. "Mr. Kai," she said, her voice as cold as ice but laced with a hint of mockery, "This is business. If you’re incapable of understanding that, I can’t help you. It’s a sha, really." She let the words hang in the air, each one sinking into his chest like a slow poison.

But just as Kai opened his mouth to retort, his eyes flicked to the ground, and the file he had carelessly dropped earlier caught his attention. He bent down quickly to retrieve it, his movents stiff with suppressed fury. The mont his fingers touched the paper, sothing in his chest tightened. The texture of the file was... too soft. He frowned as he ran his hand over the cover. Velvet.

’Oh my goodness, this is beyond soft! I simply must include this darling in my collection. It’s practically begging for a cozy hug from !’

But outside he look like His mind whirled as he opened the file with trembling fingers. His gaze darted over the docunt inside, and the words blurred for a mont as the gravity of the situation set in. The file wasn’t just paperwork. It was the power of attorney. His heart pounded in his chest as he processed the words.

Every asset, every property, everything related to Aron Group—it was now transferred to Es.

But that wasn’t the worst part.

There, in cold, precise legal language, it stated: Until Ray recovers and is able to resu control of the company, Es will be the acting head, the one who governs everything.

Kai’s breath hitched. His mind raced, the room around him spinning.
