The realization of what he was holding, the weight of it, was enough to make him dizzy. But what truly burned him was the look on Es’s face—the calm, collected expression that told him she had planned this all along.

While the onlookers were falling for their little act, believing Kai was truly hurt, he was secretly smirking at Es’s playful expression. Inside, he thought, ’Goodness, imagine if I could get her to perform like this when the lights go down...’

Without warning, he slamd the file down onto the table, the sound sharp and final.

’No, I need to relax and begin my performance.’

"How dare you!" he roared, his voice shaking with a mixture of disbelief and fury. His hands clenched at his sides, and for a mont, he looked like he might strike her.

But Es didn’t flinch. Instead, she stood tall, her arms crossed over her chest in a gesture of defiance. "What?" she asked, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Does your family believe they’re untouchable? Does your bloodline make you think you can control everything—everyone?" She took a step toward him, her heels clicking with deliberate precision. "How quaint."

The elders stood frozen, stunned by the boldness of her words. Kai’s face was flushed with rage, his eyes wild with a combination of disbelief and shock. He opened his mouth, but no words ca out. The room was thick with the tension of a battle lost before it had even started.

The elder who had tried to intervene earlier stepped forward again, his eyes scanning the scene with growing alarm. "Kai," he said, his voice trembling with a hint of fear, "you don’t understand. This isn’t just so petty betrayal. This is business. This is the future of Aaron Group. And you’ve lost control." His voice cracked as he saw the cold, undeniable truth on Es’s face. There was no way back.

Kai’s expression darkened as the weight of the elder’s words hit him like a blow to the chest. But it was too late. Es had already secured her position.

She turned her attention back to the elders, her smile sharp as a blade. "Gentlen," she said, her voice filled with finality, "this is what happens when vision ets opportunity. You may not like it, but this is the reality now. I’m in charge."

The elders exchanged hesitant glances, the shock still evident in their expressions. And Kai? He stood frozen in disbelief, the fight draining from his body as he realized there was nothing more he could do. The empire he thought he controlled was slipping through his fingers—and there was no one left to bla but himself.

Es turned on her heel and walked out of the room, leaving chaos and broken dreams in her wake. Her smile never wavered, the triumph in her eyes as sharp as the stiletto heels she clicked against the floor. She wasn’t just taking control of a company. She was taking control of everything.

And there was nothing anyone could do to stop her.

Kai stood frozen, the weight of the file pressing against his palms like an anchor to his own disbelief. The room seed to close in around him as his mind struggled to comprehend the reality that was slowly sinking in. His hands were stiff, his fingers gripping the edges of the file as if it might slip through his grasp and vanish into thin air. The words on the paper blurred as his eyes failed to focus, the enormity of the situation drowning him.

On the periphery, Jay remained silent, his expression unreadable. He didn’t dare move, didn’t dare speak. It was as if he, too, had been caught in the gravity of the mont, uncertain whether to be alard or impressed by the unfolding chaos.

The elders, who had once treated Kai like a rising star, were now a gallery of judgnt and confusion. They exchanged glances, unsure how to process what had just happened. The power that had once belonged to them—their claim over the company, over the future—was now slipping away, and they were helpless to stop it.

One elder, his voice dripping with both disbelief and disgust, broke the silence. "What happened to you, Kai?" His tone was sharp, but there was a subtle tremor of fear beneath it. "What is this?" He gestured toward the file in Kai’s hands. "Why are you frozen, like a child caught in a lie?"

Kai didn’t answer. He couldn’t. His mind was caught in a swirl of confusion and anger.

’As soon as these morons clear out, I’m snapping a photo of my kid! His eyes were stuck on that boring still file, but outside he was looking like a freaking ice statue. Inside? He was bouncing around like crazy! He wanted nothing more than to bolt to his room, add that file to his silly collection of soft things, and take yet another picture of it!.

Another elder, a woman with silver hair and sharp eyes, stepped forward, her voice biting. "And just look at Es now. You’ve handed her everything. Everything." She seed almost triumphant in her condemnation, a twisted satisfaction in the fact that they had warned Kai, and he had refused to listen.

The room was tense, the air thick with the weight of betrayal and defeat. Kai stood there, motionless, still clutching the file. His grandfather, who had been watching the unfolding chaos in silence, suddenly erupted, his voice cutting through the tension like a whip.

"Shut up!" His words, harsh and commanding, imdiately silenced the room. The elders froze, shocked into silence by his outburst.

Without another word, the old man stepped forward and placed a firm hand on Kai’s shoulder. His touch, surprisingly gentle, was ant to comfort, to reassure, but it felt like a mockery to Kai.

"It’s okay, my child," his grandfather murmured, his voice soothing and almost paternal. "Don’t worry. We’ll do everything we can to make sure you’re safe."

Kai is still looking at the file.
