At least, as a wealthy heiress who has been swept away by love and has never experienced any setbacks, her actions can be forgiven.
She was grateful that she hadn’t asked the Night Hawk to do anything harmful to Helen lendy, so she could speak with confidence in front of her family.
Edward Smith indeed learned from the Night Hawk that Olivia Smith hadn’t done anything except have him watch Helen lendy, so now, he silently listened to Olivia finish speaking, showing no expression on his face.

Thomas stood in place, hesitated for a mont, furrowed his brow, and followed Edward upstairs.
Afraid Thomas would sabotage things, Olivia quickly grabbed his hand, gazing at him with imploring eyes:
"Second brother."
Her eyes carried infinite unspoken aning.
Thomas understood her intention, patted her hand, and said, "Don’t worry, second brother will always stand by your side."
Thomas’s answer made Olivia secretly breathe a sigh of relief and her eyes filled with gratitude, "Thank you, second brother."
Reaching the study door, Thomas hesitated for a mont, then knocked on the door, "Big brother."
