Chapter 1868: Chapter 1868: Sumr Hall Side Story (70)
The reproach in her eyes did not diminish at all; instead, it beca sharper.
“I love you all. You are the dearest people to in this world. If my closest family suspects that I’m an impostor and forces to take a DNA test, what’s wrong with resisting?”
She saw Evelyn Taylor furrow her brows, but she was not afraid. She even thought of using this approach to move her.
“Mom, anyone would resist this kind of thing happening to them. If you don’t feel sorry for , that’s one thing, but to suspect that I knew about this from the beginning, how could you be so heartless? Even if I was switched at birth, I’ve been by your side for almost thirty years. How could you bear to accuse like this?”
As she spoke, she seed to lose control of her emotions, and her voice turned sharp.
Evelyn Taylor furrowed her brows slightly but remained silent. However, her face had softened significantly.
Seeing she still had a chance, Olivia Smith beca even more spirited.
Just as she was about to speak, she was interrupted by a cold laugh from Edward Smith.
Olivia turned to Edward, knowing that her elder brother was the hardest to fool. If she could get past him, she’d be in the clear.
Her hands hanging by her side clenched slightly.
“Since you’re so innocent, why did you start keeping an eye on Helen lendy two years ago? And why did you withdraw the Night Hawk after she fell into a coma for half a year?”
His voice was deep and steady, yet his gaze was sharp enough to leave Olivia with no place to hide.
Upon hearing this, the color drained completely from Olivia’s face. She staggered back a few steps before tightly grabbing Thomas Smith’s clothes to steady herself.
After Edward finished speaking, he turned his gaze towards Thomas, the depths of his eyes swirling with an unstoppable storm, “Did you know what she was using the Night Hawk for?”
Thomas was stunned, looking at Olivia with a few traces of astonishnt, but he couldn’t utter a single word.
“Answer !”
Edward’s voice rose a few notches, and the overwhelming pressure made Olivia tremble even more.
“If you were completely unaware, why did you send Night Hawk to watch soone who originally had nothing to do with you?”
The cold glint in Edward’s eyes grew stronger, and beads of cold sweat began to appear on Olivia’s forehead.
Her eyes darted around quickly, trying to bamboozle Edward with her answer.
She took several deep breaths to calm herself down.
“Because… because I like Harry Hall. Two years ago, I went to Greece to find my friend, and I happened to et Harry. I fell in love with him at first sight. I inadvertently learned that his girlfriend was Helen lendy.”
She tried to make her words sound more credible while thinking through the logic as she spoke.
“I found out that Harry’s mother, Lady Hall, doesn’t like Helen lendy, so I wanted to find an opportunity to disrupt their relationship.”
The more she spoke, the more fluent she beca, and she felt that her words were very convincing, so she boldly continued:
“I just had Night Hawk keep an eye on Helen lendy to see if I could find any leverage to ruin her relationship with Harry Hall. I really did nothing else, big brother. If you don’t believe , you can ask Night Hawk. Night Hawk wouldn’t lie to you.”
Olivia was eager to make Edward believe her words.
Although attempting to sabotage soone’s relationship to beco a third party was a deplorable act, and she knew her parents and brother would disapprove of such behavior,
this was much safer than knowing Helen lendy was the Smith Family’s daughter and having other intentions.
