Chapter 1496: Chapter 1468: It Depends on the Understanding

“I’ll play, who’s scared of who!”

Molly Palr really took the bait.

She grabbed paper and a pen and started playing the ga with Kiara.

She earnestly wrote down her own personality traits: beautiful, proud, competent, successful.

Kiara also wrote sothing down, “the Amnesia Fairy…”

After Molly saw what Kiara had written, she regretted playing with her, feeling as though she’d been made a fool of.

“You—”

“I really have amnesia! You have to believe in the big data!”

“…” Fine, go ahead, be shaless then!

The key to this ga lies in how one portrays oneself, and what others see in you. Why is it common in schools but rarely seen in actual therapy sessions?

Because children are simple, the older a person gets, the more defensive they beco, having grown accustod to consciously or unconsciously masquerading in front of others. Very few people are truly aware of their own issues, and even if they are, they tend to deliberately conceal them, intentionally displaying their righteous side.

Most people think their personality is flawless, even those who others find annoying consider themselves to be all sorts of good. Others are always to bla, very few can face their problems head-on.

That’s why Molly thought Kiara was very naive, to actually choose such a ga to play with an expert like herself.

“So let’s get started—” just as Molly was about to begin, Kiara stood up, handed her the piece of paper she’d been holding, and snatched the one Molly had written on.

“We are both ancient foxes, of course, we can’t stick to the script when playing folklores. You also know this is a child’s ga, so naturally, when adults play, the rules have to change.”

“Change the… rules?”

“Mmhmm.”

Kiara exchanged what she had written with what she took from Molly, then shook the piece of paper with Molly’s writing in her hand.

“From now on, for a whole day, I’ll pretend to be you, and you’ll interpret —honestly, I think you’re getting the better end of the deal. The Amnesia Fairy is such an easy role to play.”

“…”

“You’re not struggling to find the feeling of amnesia, are you? Let describe it to you: from now on, you are a blank slate, you don’t have any personality traits, none of the labels others give you exist. You can do what you want, say what you want, you’re just yourself, do whatever makes you happy.”

“Happy?”

“Don’t tell you don’t even rember what happiness is? Even I, a truly amnesiac person, haven’t forgotten that.”

“I, of course, I can!”

“Well then, good luck,” Kiara said, taking her piece of paper and leaving. “By this ti tomorrow, we’ll exchange our comnts on each other’s role-playing.”

Kiara left without regard to what expression Molly wore on her face.

Out of Molly’s sight, Mrs. Kiara allowed a faint smile to grace her lips.

Matt Bailey played with her in his unsophisticated high-tech gas, and she would use the legitimate techniques her father taught her to clip his wings. Whether it was being honest with the Fox Cat or playing a special ga with Molly, these seemingly trivial actions could lead to unexpected consequences. But this was only the first step of Mrs. Kiara’s revenge.

If she executed this step well, she would have many more tricks up her sleeve to ensnare everyone involved, and eventually directly target Matt Bailey himself.

The longer she remained here, the more perilous Bailey’s situation beca.

But…

Kiara closed her eyes, and her mind was flooded with images of Mario Yuno searching everywhere for her with Wendy.

Unable to contact him, she had no idea how the child was now, whether her disappearance was causing him heart-wrenching agony…

“You smiled.”

Kiara snapped out of her thoughts to see Fox Cat standing at the opposite end of the corridor, arms crossed, watching her.

“Hmm?”

“You were smiling just now as you thought about sothing,” he said.

He had been watching her intently since she erged from Molly Palr’s room, her expression triumphant as if she had just successfully duped soone—she always looked like this when she pulled one over on soone. Although he didn’t know what trap she had set for Molly Palr, it was clear that Molly Palr was no match for her. Then, her brow furrowed, troubled by sothing, yet amidst that faint worry, there was a trace of a smile.

It wasn’t the smile of happiness, but more like the expression brought on by thinking of sothing she liked, coming straight from the heart.

“Did I…?” Kiara pondered; maybe it was because her mind had wandered to the term “heart-wrenching” that she had slipped out of character a bit.

The adjectives she reserved for her husband were always sowhat silly. Just thinking of him made the colors in her mind jump; the man was never still for a mont, and his presence made even adjectives lively.

Thinking of this, Kiara’s heart felt a bit lighter.

Her husband was the best man in the world; if he couldn’t save her, then no one could. She had to have faith in him. Until he arrived, all she needed to do was keep her cool and stir up trouble in Matt Bailey’s stronghold, making a ss of things for him to sort out.

Kiara’s subtle expressions were like a blunt knife in Jas Norris’ heart.

The first cut didn’t bleed, but after a prolonged period, it repeatedly stabbed at his heart.

She was thinking of a man, but that man was definitely not him.

“What’s wrong?” Kiara waved her hand in front of his face.

Fox Cat suddenly grabbed her wrist, and Matt Bailey’s words echoed in his head like a spell. With a slight force, he pinned Kiara against the wall. He could feel her breath, and she could sense his pulse. Using his physical advantage, he pressed against her; this was the first ti they were so close to each other.

Charles Norris said, make her yours.

Kiara said, be a fool who only makes oneself happy…

The voices of Matt Bailey and Kiara reverberated in his mind at the sa ti. His Adam’s apple moved slightly, and his eyes turned red, but he saw her gaze eting his with such calmness.

He stepped back and let go of Kiara.

“Sorry, I was abrupt.”

Actually, Kiara wasn’t as composed as she’d appeared. She was very nervous inside.

Because in that mont, Fox Cat was too wild, unlike the man she knew; yet this second, he seed too defeated, so much so that one would think he was ready to give up on himself.

Watching him walk away, a feeling akin to heartache surged in Kiara’s heart.

“Fox Cat, wanna grab a drink sowhere?” Kiara called out.

“You…” He whirled around, his eyes filled with surprise. Wasn’t she angry?

“We’re friends, right? I can take a joke like that,” she said lightly.

This was no joke, but her understanding was a warm step for him, one that cruelly pushed him to a spot where he was trapped.

Just friends then…

“To my room,” Kiara invited.

“!!! What do you want to do?”

“I’ll tell you so things you want to know, friend,” she clarified.

“Phew, you scared . I thought you’d gotten so desperate you’d eat anything,” she joked, guessing that it wasn’t convenient to talk outside, with surveillance everywhere in the house.

If starving could lead to the most delicious food, he would rather starve. But for so people, even starvation would leave them just a friend.

As Jas Norris prepared to tell Kiara her entire life story, thousands of miles away, Aka sat in front of the computer, writing an email as Mario Yuno had instructed.

“Langa, will sending it like this really work?” he asked.

“It will,” ca the assured reply.

Oh, daughter-in-law, whether or not we have telepathy to find you, that depends on our marital harmony! Camden prayed silently, though his tone remained very calm.

“Send it,” he instructed.
