Sharon’s POV—
I slowly regained consciousness and tried to open my eyes. Coughing out so water, I rubbed my head with my hands and opened my eyes.
Currently, I was on the shoreline of a river. It seems I have drifted quite a distance with the waterfall’s turbulence... so much that I was thrusted into the river. Naturally, they are the part of the river system.
I laid on the soft soil mattress, which was wet and cold at the sa ti. It was a bit soothing. And coupled with the gentle humming from the river’s mouth, it truly replenished with energy. A quiet and calm river indeed can induce a serene feeling in one’s heart. With, the moonlight caressing my form, it makes a perfect holiday destination. But I would advise not to spend your vacation here. It’s obviously a dangerous place.
I got up and started my journey again. It’s a good thing that I can enjoy this peacefulness, but enough is enough. I am not going to live here. Returning to the palace is more important. Although, I am quite tensed thinking about the matters of the palace.
Sure enough, I entered a new forest. Here, the trees are big enough and are space uniformly. Large bushes were everywhere. There were large vines which laid on the ground, making the walking space even more narrow.
*Oink* A sound entered my ears. Out of the bushes, ca a pig like creature, which had so strange markings on its body. Its skin was dark in colour. It grunted and kicked his legs in anger.
I looked into its eyes and prepared myself for the evident attack. It dashed towards in the hopes of attacking . Dodging his attack, I landed on a small tree.
Not finding , it looked around and then, used its ultimate weapon. Its nose. Generating so noises from its nose, it tried to sll my presence. Sure enough, within a minute it found and glared at .
It again kicked its legs and sprinted towards the tree. With its head, it broke down the tree with an impactful headbutt to its trunk.
I jumped to another tree and stabilised myself. Then, it locked his gaze at and repeatedly the trees in which I took ’shelter.’ One by one, countless trees broke down by the angry ’pig.’ Ok, it’s not a pig. A damn angry creature, that’s what it is.
If I correct then, head is its strongest part... but what about its body? While attacking, its focus was always on its body as if it was trying to protect it while attacking . I conjured a sword and waited for it to attack again. Raising the sword, I landed behind him and thrusted it in its body vertically, right in its centre of mass. It scread with pain, before dropping dead.
Taking a deep breath, I resud my walking. After so ti, I encountered trees whose trunks were completely dark in colour. Narrowing my eyes, I focused ahead.
A pungent sll attacked my nose, which made put my hand over my mouth. If I am correct, it ca from those trees. But why? Honestly, my danger senses were tingling. Just by a look, I could say those trees had sothing wrong with them.
Trunks as black as a coal. Leaves as dried as a raisin, and branches which had a sharpened edge. My pace increased. I need to get out of here as quick as possible.
Suddenly, a twisting and breaking noise entered my ear. It ca from a tree. At that mont, this sound intensified. The trees began shaking. Its branches twisted and turned, while the roots ca out of ground and wrapped around its trunk. They began uprooting themselves and created a pair of ’legs’ with its remaining unused roots. The faint glow of moonlight along with this pungent sll and creepy sounds had already created this place, a perfect setting for a horror ga... but now, the trees are also ’standing’ as if they wanted to cross-check my suspicions. No need to that, I know it already.
*Clank* *Clank* The leaves hit one another and created a sound similar to two swords hitting each other. My eyes widened in realisation. These fucking leaves are either tallic, or have so similar traits of a tal.
Then, it happened. The trees threw their leaves at . Without any prior sign, the leaves had detached itself and were used for attack.
Creating a sword, I deflected them away with a single attack. I made a spear in my other hand and threw it towards a tree. It pierced its trunk with a single hit and the tree dropped dead on the ground. Slowly, it turned to ashes.
Approximately, there are almost 20 trees left. The trees... let’s call them as ’Ash’ trees as their final forms are just plain ashes.
I dodged the leaf attack and hurled a spear to another tree, killing it. I deflected the attacks from both the sides and threw so spears to the nearby trees.
After killing all of them, I moved ahead in search of an exit.
As I moved ahead, huge centipedes were crawling on the trees. Controlling my disgust, I sprinted as if they didn’t exist. Thankfully, they didn’t attack and were busy eating leaves and other stuff.
When I didn’t find any centipede crawling around , I finally stopped sprinting and walked slowly.
*Thud* I heard a loud thud from behind . It was as if sothing huge and monstrous landed behind .
With a crying heart, I looked back and found... it was a spider. A very, very, very... big spider. A fucking spider! Experiencing goosebumps all over my body, I made a plan.
What’s my plan? It’s simple to run. Without any thought, I started running. Like hell, I would fight a big spider. I hate spiders! I simply hate them!
Seeing its prey, that is , running away from it... the spider roared loudly.
"BHWWAAAAA!!!!!!!!!"
Fuck! With heavy and big steps, it chased .
Third POV—
Aerila slowly opened her eyes and moved to a sitting position. First, confusion hit her, which eventually turned into anger. Did Sharon run away? That imbecile! Not only she stabbed her but also, she hit her head hard. Too hard to be honestly.
"Where is she?" asked Aerila, with a raspy voice.
Celle lowered her head. She replied, "S-she r-ran away."
Aerila’s eyes turned cold. She hissed, "How did she escape?"
"She used the teleportation array. I don’t know, what she did... but she changed the array to her preference. I believe she changed it randomly."
Aerila nodded, "The teleportation array. Is it still there?"
Celle shook her head in denial. "No, it vanished along with her," answered Celle. Even she was confused by this phenonon.
Eyes widening in surprise, Aerila took a sharp breath. Her head was still hurting, and not to forget her abdon.
"How is this possible?" Aerila asked herself, in a very low voice. In her entire life, she had never encountered anything like this. It seed she had to investigate herself.
"Your Majesty, can I inform you sothing?" Aerila nodded, "50 soldiers were killed by her. I don’t know the exact figure as we are still searching for any causalities."
Sighing, Aerila sneered, "She is really sothing," she turned towards Celle with an inquisitive look, "I don’t know one thing. How did she do this?"
"Your Majesty, it was because we underestimated her. While she was a bit childish and impulsive, she knew what she was going to face. As Your Majesty gave her the lowest position among the maids, I forced her to clean the entire palace all by herself."
Aerila snorted, "With this, she made the entire layout in her mind. Celle, you have a terrible habit of leaving docunts in strange places. She must have found them. In fact, she knew that the air was affecting her. Being a hybrid of so sorts helped her."
Celle nodded her head and said, "Your Majesty’s sight is really sothing. She... must have found about all these and prepared her plan accordingly. And if it wasn’t enough, the maids also helped her. Due to their gossiping nature, she found out everything about this place. She even found out about our poison cabinet. Stealing the sleep-inducing poison, she added it to our food."
"You should control your maids properly. They have unknowingly helped her in this great escape of hers. Honestly, it’s all because of their carelessness."
"I am sorry, Your Majesty."
"So, why did she kill the terrace guards?"
"Their food was not prepared by us. So, she eliminated them."
"They might beco a hindrance to her plan," Aerila laughed at herself, "I have never thought she would be able to escape from here. She was showing herself to be a hot-blooded idiot. But she wasn’t. In turn, we are the one who are idiots. She took her ti and struck us accordingly."
"Your Majesty, should we track her?"
Aerila smirked, "No need. Let her play around. She stabbed , didn’t she? She even hit my head," her smirk widened, "Sharon Charatshore, you pray to anyone you want... but if you fall in my hands, I will not so any rcy to you... whatsoever."
Celle shivered seeing her queen’s reaction. For the first ti, she felt sympathy for her enemy.
