The classes went on, as usual, that day, when the bell rang for one of the last breaks, Ryan stood up and said goodbye to Alice and Sara. Walking out of the room, he had a thoughtful and troubled face, not only because of the new challenge to conquer Sylvanna but also because of his visit to the guild.

'I wonder what's going to happen...'

'A raid organized by the guild...'

When a group of travelers unite and form an alliance to clear portals, it is difficult for that unity to hold for long or extend into a larger group. In general, travelers work alone or in groups of up to five mbers, it is extrely difficult to find a portal-clearing group larger than thirty people.

Raids usually happen when there is a high number of portals, or when a group of adventurers decides to advance on a fixed portal for long periods. They can range from fifty to one hundred participants, which makes for very different group dynamics.

Usually this type of event is organized by clans of travelers. These are small teams and communities managed by the travelers and coordinated and approved by the guild.

'Everything about this story is screaming that sothing is wrong'

'The quote is not like that Nyx'

'You better stop watching these movies...'

Ryan was walking out of the iron gates of the academy, when from a distance he saw a black car approaching towards him. All the windows of that car were completely dark, making it impossible to see who was inside. Lowering the glass, he recognized the face of the woman who was sitting as a passenger.

"Mr. Whitemane, I request that you accompany " She said with a smile.

She was John Wrynn's secretary. She was an orange-haired elf, a sight too distinctive to forget.

"Is that a kidnapping?" He replied, jokingly.

"What a great sense of humor boy... What a great sense of humor" She said, as the car door opened.

Stepping into the car door, Ryan remained on the lookout for any strange movent that might happen. But, it wasn't like anything dangerous was happening. Neither the driver nor the secretary was looking nacingly in his direction. Just to be a little safer, he asked Nyx to fly over the area, and nothing appeared to be strange.

'If anything happens, I want you to activate all my offensive skills at the sa ti Nyx'

The idea was simple, on the first attack, Nyx would activate the skills even without Ryan's wish, thus causing an explosion at the sa instant. In the end, none of these asures were necessary. After a few minutes of traveling, the car arrived in front of the guild building.

'So they'll just talk to ...' Ryan concluded, as he got out of the car. In his mind, it was impossible that the Guild would drive every single mber of a Raid, but that idea was quickly shattered. After crossing the reception area, Ryan was led into an event hall, where several travelers were gathered.

So, with closed and serious faces. Others were animatedly chatting and enjoying each other's company. In the hall, there should be at least forty travelers, most without any armor or equipnt. The guild mbers were surrounding the room, all dressed in black suits and guild badges.

A few minutes later, John Wrynn erged through an elevator that led directly to the center of that event room. The footsteps of his shoe echoed across the marble floor of the room, causing everyone to shut up and pay attention to his speech.

"That air destroys my throat..." He said, breaking the serious mood a bit. After adjusting his tie, he activated a wind propagation skill, making it so that everyone in the room could easily hear his voice. "I have gathered all the promising young people here for the guild developnt project. I apologize for the urgent notification, but due to so other issues, we will be starting this project as soon as possible" Then, John Wrynn extended his hand, pointing to the center of that room.

A magic circle appeared, a blue star began to spin amidst the marble floor, opening a portal the size of two cars. "I ask that everyone enter the portal." After that, slowly the group of travelers and the guild officers ford lines to disappear one by one into the mist that erged from that gigantic blue energy sphere.

Ryan approached the line and entered through the middle, being neither one of the last nor one of the first. As his steps advanced into the blue sphere, he felt a strange sensation. It was as if his body was running through hot water, and as he walked further, the heat increased and decreased, until he was thrown to the other side of the portal.

The group was gathering in a gymnasium that looked a little like the Academy's, but was much larger. The building was so large that it was hard to feel trapped, a forty story building could easily fit within the distance between the floor and the ceiling of that gym.

From all sides, the place was simply colossal. It was hard to see the other wall of what made up that gym, it was at least a few miles away. Behind him, the group of travelers kept coming out of the portal, until in seconds that gigantic sphere of energy ca crashing down, shrinking to the size of a golf ball.

Looking up, Ryan had an idea.

'Nyx check the top of this place'

Within seconds, the succubus was flying out and through the thick layer of magical iron that closed the ceiling of that gymnasium. But she got no response at all.
