Peggy POV
I was looking at the phone in Luke’s hand. It didn’t stop ringing even though we ignored it a few tis.
"Should I answer it?" I asked.
"Well, they put it in your bag so I think the call is for you." Andrew comnted.
I nodded and took the phone from Luke’s hands to answer it.
"Hello? Who is this?" I asked.
There was a long silence on the other line before I heard a man’s voice.
"Hello, princess."
The tone was cold but clear, making my heart beat fast. I beca anxious when I felt the chills run through my spine.
"Who are you? And how did you put this phone in my bag?" I asked.
The man chuckled. "It doesn’t matter how. What matters now is your husband’s life."
I felt like my heart would burst to hear those words from the man with a cold tone. I didn’t feel a thing when I bit my lip to stop it from trembling.
"I’m listening." I said.
"You can put it on speaker." He said and so I did.
He knew I was with my friends since he asked to put it on speaker.
"Luke Wilson, I know you’re there." The man started.
Everyone listened to the man on the other line. We wanted to know if we could guess who it was so we silently to him.
"You are as cunning and fearless as your father. Everyone around you was in deep shit because of the power you currently hold. Like the Wilson Clan, the royal family of Flousia holds great influence and power over other countries." He paused.
"What do you an by that? Flousia is a small country and has not been colonised ever since. We do not hold any power outside of our territory." I said.
The man chuckled. "You were recently introduced as a mber of the royal family. So I would not bla you for not knowing anything."
I frowned. "Just tell us what you want and why you called."
"Patience, princess. I am not your enemy but I am also not a friend. I’m doing this because this is the right thing to do." He said.
I rolled my eyes and handed the phone to Luke. I was really getting impatient and I didn’t want to waste our ti on soone we didn’t know.
I walked back to the couch to sit and just wait for the man to speak.
"Have you ever wondered why all of you were sohow connected to the Mafia? I bet you knew about the Trekker Clan and thought that they were just so criminals who had nothing to do but kill people. But did one of you know that Jonathan Trekker’s father was a mber of the royal family?"
My heart pounded. I glanced at the others and they all seed surprised. Even Luke had a blank expression on his face. We did our investigation about the Trekker Clan but we mainly focused on Jonathan. We didn’t try to investigate further on his family.
"When your grandfather was still the Crown Prince, he had a half-brother. An elder one to be exact. He was not next in line to the throne because he was born from a concubine. His mother was a ninth-rank mistress, the lowest of all the king’s concubines. Your grandfather was the rightful heir because his mother was the Queen of Flousia."
"Are you telling us that the forr king’s half-brother was from the Trekker Clan?" Andrew asked.
"Yes, Mr. Andrew Cross."
I was once again surprised when he called Andrew. He knew that it was him just hearing his voice so maybe we knew the man or t him before.
"If you will look into the history of Flousia, the na of Alia Trekker is in there. She was the mother of Jonathan’s father. His na was Henry Trekker. Your grandfather and Henry grew up close. But then unexpectedly, Henry died. He was with your grandfather when he died. They said he accidentally slipped and his head bumped into a rock. But Henry’s mother didn’t believe that. She believed Henry was killed by your grandfather."
I could’t believe the words he said. No one told about the Trekker’s. But I knew it wasn’t necessary since I was never interested in the affairs of the other royals.
"So Alia was the real mastermind of all this? She wanted revenge for her son’s death?" I asked.
"Maybe."
"What do you an? You clearly said the reason for the Trekker Clan’s action."
"The death of Henry was just part of it. Alia was never happy to be the King’s concubine. She was a servant in the palace and she was supposed to marry her lover. I was unsure how she t the forr king. I told you about this so you could have an idea of where to look." The man said.
"Flousia. But how can we trust your words? And what does it have to do with Jayden?" I asked.
The man chuckled. "I didn’t ask you to trust . It is your choice. I’m just telling you what I know about the Trekker Clan."
"And what’s your reason? You said you’re neither our ally nor our enemy."
"Let’s just say I want to pay a debt."
"To Jayden?" I asked again.
"To his father. I was one of his father’s patient. He helped a lot when I was still a patient in an asylum. He was just practicing his profession back then, but he was the one who cured . I want to return the favor by saving his son. But I can just give you information about the Trekker Clan. Once you found the answer in Flousia, call to this number and I’ll answer your questions."
I was confused. I looked at the others who listening quietly to the man on the other line.
"Who exactly are you? Why do you know so much about the royal family and the Trekker Clan?" Luke was the one who asked.
The man didn’t reply for a mont then we heard him take a deep breath.
"I am the youngest and only living son of Alia Trekker. My na is Hor Trekker." The man finally revealed himself.
