When we ca up to the surface, the scene in front of us was quite the sight.

After all, it showed that there had been quite the battle fought here.

There were corpses that were scattered all over the ground and there were even more bones that had been shattered.

Once we ca up out of the hidden passage, the villagers started getting to work collecting all of the bones from the undead and the corpses of the people that we slaughtered.

During this ti, there was also a group that controlled a group of skeletal wolves to search the town.

Though I really had no idea how skeletal wolves were able to pick up scents, they were able to find the things that we were looking for.

"Look at the state of this place..."

The villagers all had frowns on their faces when they saw this place, but they still went in with .

This place hadn’t suffered much damage since it was one of the first places that had been abandoned when the undead attacked. Since it wasn’t near the center of the village, those people had abandoned it right away.

Even though there were so many people that were in here.

When we entered, the first thing that happened was a collective flinch from the people that were in this room.

Seeing this, the villagers couldn’t help knitting their brows even more.

But I just said to them in a soft voice, "Calm down, you don’t want to scare them."

Hearing this, they relaxed their faces so they didn’t seem as tense as before. But it was clear that they weren’t happy seeing what was in front of them.

After a mont of silence, Tucker went forward to ask, "Who is the leader among you?"

No one in the room said a single thing.

Most of them actually turned away as if they were afraid to attract any attention.

It was very obvious just how they had been treated before this for them to act this way.

Seeing this just made Tucker imdiately knit his brows once more.

But before he could do anything, I grabbed his shoulder and pulled him away before saying, "We’ve defeated the ones that have kidnapped all of you. From now on, you’re free to go wherever you want to go."

There were looks of shock and disbelief that appeared on the faces of the people in the room, but it didn’t seem like many of them were going to act because I said this.

Many of them even thought that I was trying to trick them.

So I just said, "We’ll get you out of this place now and feed you before deciding what to do with you. Follow us."

Without even waiting, I turned to leave.

The villagers however waited to see what the people would do.

Eventually, they followed us out of this place and over to another place where food and drinks had been prepared.

All of them couldn’t help gulping when they saw this since it had been a long ti since they had been able to eat their fill. But they didn’t dare actually move towards the food since they were afraid.

They were afraid that this was all a trap...

They could see that the village had been destroyed, so they knew that these people had power.

That was why they didn’t believe that they would do sothing like this just to help them...

But in the end, one of them finally couldn’t take it anymore and their stomach couldn’t help growling.

Once that happened, they just couldn’t hold back as they went to eat.

As soon as one person went forward, it was like the dam broke and everyone couldn’t help following that one person.

They just grabbed whatever food they could and just stuffed their faces.

When the villagers saw this, they couldn’t help looking at them with even more pity.

So of them couldn’t help going forward to help them since it seed like they were about to choke with the way that they stuffed their faces.

But it really was hard to not pity a group of children like this.

This village was the hideout of a group of child traffickers.

They kidnapped children from different places and then sold them where they saw fit.

This was just one of the different sources of inco that the Serpent Group had.

This was the kind of group that the Serpent Group was.

Once they helped the children calm down, they also helped them get more food.

Since we had already anticipated this, we had made sure to bring plenty of food just in case.

It turned out that this was the right choice as the people of this village really didn’t care to stock up on proper food.

Since they were nothing more than child traffickers, the only thing that they cared about was at and booze. This certainly wasn’t a proper al for starving children like this.

After a long al, it seed like the children were finally satisfied with what they had eaten.

Though the looks on so of their faces was as if they thought that they had eaten their last al.

Once they were done, I said, "Now, the decision that you all have to make is whether you will co with us or not. If you co with us, we’ll do our best to take care of you and teach you so skills to survive in this wilderness. If you don’t co with us, we’ll give you so supplies and direct you to a safe place. The choice is yours."

The children all trembled when they heard this.

This was a very heavy decision for these children to make and it seed like so of the villagers didn’t want to force them, but they knew that this was just how it was.

If we forced them to co with us, we would be no better than the child traffickers.

But at the sa ti, it wasn’t as if we could go out of our way to help them.

So we could only offer the two best options there were.
