"Where did they all co from?"

"I don’t know."

"How do we take care of them?"

"I don’t know."

"What do you know then?"

"I don’t know."

The last answer resulted in a slap across the back of the head for the one that answered.

This not only made them feel wronged, it also pulled them back to reality as they stopped answering out of habit.

But it really was a sight filled with despair that was spread out in front of them.

Even if they wanted to deal with it, it really was hard to deal with all of these undead that had gathered around their village.

Taking a deep breath, the chief of the village said, "Go and hold your defensive positions. I’ll go call the boss and see if we can get any reinforcents."

The villagers nodded in agreent, but they had grim looks on their faces. It didn’t seem like they had much hope that reinforcents would co in ti.

And even if the reinforcents ca, would they be able to do anything against all of the undead that had surrounded their village like this?

It really didn’t seem likely...

But there was nothing that they could do since they were completely surrounded by the undead. Even if they wanted to run, there really wasn’t anything that they could do since they would be sward by the undead right away.

All that they could do was hope that sothing would change, sothing that would allow them to break out of this blockade and escape from this place.

Once the village chief reached his house, he didn’t waste any ti pressing a button in the wall.

When this button was pressed, there was the sound of a stone door opening.

It didn’t take long for an opening to appear in his wall, but this opening wasn’t actually a hidden room. Rather, this opening was a set of stairs that seed to lead deep into the ground.

This was a small set of stairs, so that no one would be able to realize the dinsions of this house was off. But it was still big enough for a person to go down without any problems.

Once the stairs appeared, the village chief headed down without any hesitation.

After he took a few steps down, he made sure to press another button on the wall that closed the opening behind him. If one hadn’t seen the opening, then they wouldn’t have known about these stairs.

As for where these stairs led...

"Let them fight. Why would I stay in a place that I would certainly die in? I’ll leave them all to die for and then make myself seem like the only survivor."

These stairs didn’t lead to any secret rooms where the village chief had hidden things.

These stairs led down to a secret passage that led out of the village.

The village chief had long commissioned this thing just in case anything happened to the village.

Now was the perfect ti to use this secret passage.

"I told you that he would be coming down here. This is just the kind of scumbag that he is."

When the village chief arrived at the bottom of the stairs, there was this voice that rang out.

When he looked ahead, he found a group of cloaked figures standing there in front of him. These cloaked figures were lined up so that they completely blocked off the passage behind them.

If he wanted to take this secret passage and escape this place, he had to get past these people.

But the village chief was soone that had been in the wilderness for a while and he had developed his senses to the point where he could tell that these people were dangerous.

He trusted his instincts since they were what had allowed him to get this far.

So the village chief imdiately said, "Do you know who I am? I am a team leader in the Serpent Group. If you value your lives, then you will let pass!"

He knew that the only thing that mattered in these wilderness was strength and the Serpent Group that was behind him was quite the deterrent. After all, they were a powerful group that had their hands all over the wilderness.

But after he said this, it didn’t seem like the cloaked figures were planning to move.

Instead, it seed like they were even angrier because of what he had said.

This was the first ti that the village chief had encountered this kind of situation, he didn’t know what to say. After all, there were very few people that didn’t fear the Serpent Group.

It was either those that were strong enough to ignore the Serpent Group or those that didn’t know about the Serpent Group.

Since they beca angrier, it couldn’t be the latter.

It could only be the forr.

With a sigh, one of the cloaked figures said, "Chief, you were right. These people really are trash, it’s better if we clean them out."

Then with a wave of his hand, there were skeletons that suddenly ca out of the ground around the village chief.

The village chief panicked when he saw these skeletons appearing around him, but he wasn’t idle either as he pulled out a dagger and expertly cut off pieces of these skeletons.

It was just that no matter how he cut, there didn’t seem like there was an end to these skeletons.

So it was only a matter of ti before he was grabbed and restrained by these skeletons.

When this happened, there was a voice that ca from inside his mind, "If it wasn’t for what you said, then they might have even thought about letting you go. I really have to thank you for doing that."

"What?! No!" That was what the village chief had wanted to say, but he didn’t get a chance to say this.

All that happened was that the skeletons grabbed his face and covered his mouth before dragging him into the ground.

He didn’t even get one final scream before he was dragged to his death.
