None of the children said anything after I said this.

It was as if they were afraid to reply, it was afraid that they would say sothing wrong.

But they were children in the end and it wasn’t as if children were famous for being patient.

So in the end, it was one of the children that suddenly asked, "Can you take us ho?"

The mont that this child said this, it seed like the others all jumped on the train. Once soone said it, it was easier for the rest of them to say it as well.

It didn’t take long before there were children crying for their parents.

However, none of the villagers went forward to comfort them. Though I could see that so of them had clenched their fists.

They were different from other necromancers, they were kind necromancers that had family and cared about them.

That was why they could see their own kids in these children when they saw them like this. They hoped that soone would treat their kids the sa if anything happened to them.

But they also weren’t fools and they knew that this kind of thing wasn’t possible in this wilderness. This was a place where dog ate dog and every man cared about themselves.

So it wasn’t as if they had the luxury to care about others.

"Pa!"

There was a loud clapping sound that rang out.

I didn’t hit the children that were crying, I just gave a loud clap to get their attention.

Once I had their attention, I said, "No, that isn’t feasible for us. Especially since you ca from all over the wilderness."

The children were all shocked when they heard this.

They thought that soone that had shown them kindness would at least listen to them, but they never expected them to firmly reject them like this.

The first child that spoke didn’t seem to know how to react at first, but then it seed like he chose to get angry.

"If you’re going to help us, shouldn’t you help us until the end? How can you abandon us like this?" He shouted while pointing his finger at .

With a simple nod, I said, "It seems like we’ve had our first person make his decision."

With a wave of my hand, there was a bag that floated over to this child and landed at his feet.

After the bag landed at his feet, I said while pointing in a direction, "If you head in that direction, you should arrive in a town that’s relatively safe. From there, you are free to do whatever you want."

There was a look of shock and disbelief that appeared on this child’s face, as if he couldn’t comprehend what was happening.

Then it seed like he was about to explode with anger and throw a tantrum.

Before he could do that, there were skeletons that suddenly ca out of the ground around him.

He imdiately swallowed his words the mont that he saw these skeletons and that look of anger was replaced with a look of fear.

Looking at that child, I just calmly said, "I suggest moving fast if you want to reach the town by the end of the day or else you’ll have to camp outside. It is quite cold this ti of year, so it really isn’t good to camp outside."

Hearing how firm my voice was, the child’s face filled with regret and even more fear.

Once he realized his mistake, he suddenly said, "I’m sorry."

But when he said this, the skeletons moved their weapons even closer to him as I said, "You better leave now."

That was when his fear took him over and he couldn’t do anything anymore. That was when he broke down and started crying on the spot.

So I had one of the skeletons pick him up.

When the skeleton picked him up, the child tried to struggle and break free, but he just wasn’t strong enough. So in the end, he was carried out of the village by the skeleton.

Once he was out of sight and his crying could no longer be heard, all of the children looked like sudden realization hit them.

This was the realization that they wouldn’t be able to rely on the fact that they were children to get what they wanted.

But this was sothing that they should have already known since they had lived in this wilderness since they were born.

After a mont of silence, I added, "Most of your villages would have been slaughtered when they kidnapped you. Even if you go back, there might not be anything left there waiting for you."

A somber look appeared on the faces of all the children when they heard this.

I didn’t stop as I continued saying, "The choice that I’m offering you is the choice to go off on your own and make your place in the world, or co with us and learn to beco more powerful."

With a wave of my hand, the skeletons that appeared turned to face the children and stood in a line before saluting with their weapons.

"As you can see, we are necromancers. If you co with us, we’ll take you in as apprentices and teach you how to beco necromancers as well."

Once they heard this, there were so children that revealed serious looks as they considered this.

Being able to beco necromancers would an that they would have the power to protect themselves. However, it also ant that they would have to go with this group that they didn’t know much about other than the fact that they had saved them.

It really didn’t seem like this was a simple choice.

But in the end, most of the children chose to co with us since it was safer.

There were so determined ones that wanted to go off on their own to find their own fortune and I thought better of them for this. After all, it was only through searching for one’s own path that they would find the power that belonged to them.

As for the rest, they were brought back to the village to be trained as necromancers for the fight against the Undead Society.
