Capítulo 1071: Chapter 1069: Five Days

Half an hour later.

The tranquility of the Vesuvius Dake volcano’s mid-mountain slope, the center of Pompeii Town, within a eting room on the fourth floor of a stone building at the affairs point.

Dozens of wizards sat around a rectangular table, with Long i’er sitting at one end of the rectangle, occupying the lead position, hosting the eting. The wizards on the sides spoke one after another under Long i’er’s cue and inquiry.

Richard was positioned at a corner of the table, sitting upright without uttering a word, seemingly very focused on listening to others’ speeches, yet in reality, most of his thoughts had drifted away from the current conference room to other places.

An hour and a half ago, Long i’er suddenly called him out to attend this eting, and he was a bit stunned, thinking Long i’er had discovered so suspicious points and required him to explain in a formal setting.

After attending the eting, he realized that Long i’er had not discovered either the underground space beneath his residence or that he was extracting volcanic energy and had not discovered his secret creation of a terrifying weapon in Eden—an implosion-type atomic bomb.

Regarding the magical electromagnetic pulse that led to the collapse of Pompeii Town’s energy system, Long i’er didn’t ntion it at all. Clearly, he hadn’t perceived the truth behind this incident in Pompeii Town, only attributing it to accidental factors.

This made him breathe a sigh of relief.

The primary reason Long i’er summoned him to this eting was regarding the energy system renovation.

The energy system is undoubtedly thoroughly broken now, and repair is almost impossible. The only feasible option is to rebuild from scratch. Long i’er clearly rembered when he had just co to Pompeii for a visit, and then proposed to improve the topology of the energy system transmission channels, so now asked him for so technical suggestions.

This was naturally not challenging for him; as long as it wasn’t discovered that he was manufacturing nuclear weapons, leading him to fail at the last mont, everything would be fine. Hence, he provided constructive opinions without any psychological pressure, ensuring that if his suggestions were followed in building the new energy system, both interference resistance and stability would be significantly improved.

Long i’er listened and basically accepted, and then asked the other wizards about the difficulty of implentation as well as the possibility of further improvent. Thus, the eting continued until now.

In Richard’s view, the current eting clearly holds no significance for him anymore. Having lost the worry about his background being exposed, he truly didn’t want to waste even a second here after articulating his suggestions.

After all, wasting ti is wasting life, and the ss in Eden hasn’t been handled yet. He needs to hurry back to take care of it.

The reason he still persisted in staying here, pretending to be carefully listening, was rely to prevent drawing attention or causing trouble by acting out of line.

This is akin to when he saw Pompeii Town catching fire earlier and responded to extinguish it—even though emotionally, he didn’t have much identification with Pompeii Town or even the entire Truth Society, as the culprit causing the disaster, he didn’t feel much guilt; yet, on the surface, he was still a core mber of the Truth Society.

Before being ready to “self-expose,” certain disguises are necessary, to perform actions that align with the identity setup.

Thus, he needed to actively extinguish the fire, and moreover, he needed to do it effectively, without the appearance of slacking off. After all, his persona within the Truth Society is that of a powerful mber whom Long i’er values and specially promotes.

“Supervisor Long i’er, I think, in the next construction of the energy system, it would be better not to set the energy core on the mountaintop. There are three reasons: the first is…”

The voice of a wizard echoed in the venue, and the eting continued.

Richard maintained his persona of “carefully listening,” while his mind began to contemplate so matters regarding the magical electromagnetic pulse.

The incident in Pompeii Town could explain that the attenuation of the magical electromagnetic pulse is quite significant beyond its effective range. This is why it only caused the collapse of the magical system in Pompeii Town without injuring the wizards.

Thus, to enhance the effect of the magical electromagnetic pulse and expand its range, it is necessary to significantly increase the material that triggers the magical electromagnetic pulse.

Then the question arises: what exactly is the substance that produces the magical electromagnetic pulse, isotope Uranium 238 or trace Uranium 235?

In his heart, he is inclined towards Uranium 235 as the answer—the trace Uranium 235 elents within the target during explosive experints actually had a slightly higher content compared to ordinary uranium ore.

If it happens that these Uranium 235 elents are relatively concentrated, upon compression, they can indeed produce so degree of nuclear fission. Although due to insufficient density and low quantity, they didn’t reach a critical state to sustain a chain nuclear fission, thus failing to produce a nuclear explosion, they could still release so energy.

Part of this energy might then, due to the peculiar nature of this world, convert into a magical electromagnetic pulse.

Of course, this is rely speculation without reasonable experintation to obtain detailed data beforehand, and it can’t be considered evidence.

That being said, he recalls previously using tal Uranium 238 to fabricate miniature magic tracking missile depleted uranium warheads. During experintal procedures, the depleted uranium warheads did not produce similar magical electromagnetic pulses upon compression, which might be regarded as indirect evidence—otherwise, if Uranium 238 were genuinely producing magical electromagnetic pulses, he would have discovered it multiple tis earlier.

Therefore, the probability of Uranium 235 producing magical electromagnetic pulses is relatively high.

If it is indeed Uranium 235, then what is the principle?

As speculated, is it nuclear fission releasing energy, transford due to the world’s peculiar nature?

So what is the transformation process? Specifically, what does the world’s peculiar nature manifest as?

Researching these matters might be challenging to design experints for; just like previous perplexities, only through the explosion of nuclear weapons can so data be collected to derive so results.

In summary, nuclear weapons must be produced.

After this eting ends, he should return and fully handle the destruction situation in Eden, aiming to deal with it decently in two days, and then spend three days completing the nuclear weapon assembly.

Thus, in total, it would be five days.

“Five days,” Richard mused to himself.

“Five days.” As Richard finalized his plans in his mind, a middle-aged wizard around forty years old spoke in the eting room, saying so.

“Based on the content discussed before, if there are no issues, we only need five days to complete the preliminary work for constructing the new energy system,” the middle-aged wizard said, pausing before continuing, “Of course, this requires everyone’s cooperation, organizational support, and understanding from other mbers within the organization.

In order to better construct the new energy system, so conflicting structures need to be dismantled. For instance, several stone buildings in the Third Zone, Seventh District, and Eighth Region; and, indeed, all the stone buildings in the Tenth and Zone 12.”

“All the stone buildings in Zone 12?” Richard abruptly snapped out of his “attentive listening” state, looking up at the person speaking. The reason being that his Stone Building No. 1248 was located in Zone 12.
