The Stone Building in Zone 12 is going to be demolished?

His No. 1248 Residence is to be demolished?

Demolition isn’t necessarily a big issue, but what might ensue could indeed beco one.

To siphon energy from the volcano’s core, there’s a secret underground space beneath his residence. If the residence is demolished, it could potentially expose the underground space, and under thorough investigation, his secret may not remain concealed.

What should be done?

Decisively flee, leave before exposure?

However, the nuclear weapon manufacturing is at a critical stage, Eden’s self-produced energy is insufficient, and Tin Wood’s consolidation of the Source is at a standstill, increasingly needing the volcano’s core energy to fill the energy gap.

In other words, he needs the environnt of Pompeii Town to complete the final stage of nuclear weapon manufacturing.

Thus, this approach is not very feasible.

Yet, forcibly preventing it is difficult to succeed. Since the new Energy System has already been approved, it’s impossible to change plans solely for his sake—his status isn’t that high.

So what’s the solution?

Is it to rush back, seal the passage exit, disregard external changes, and save every second to complete the manufacturing of nuclear weapons?

The fear is, just as he completes manufacturing, his residence might be dismantled, and during the excavation, the sealed passage may be discovered. As he carries the nuclear weapon, ready to leave secretly in triumph, he might run right into a horde of Truth Society Wizards surrounding him.

And then?

Detonate the nuclear weapon on the spot, perish together in an extrely dramatic and novelistic end?

This is not in line with his wishes.

To him, following the planned path step by step, understanding the world truth, solving his perplexing questions is what’s most important. To achieve his goals, he can take risks, but mostly in a "stealthy growth" manner, with most of his life destined to be occupied by monotonous and boring research work.

This is not in pursuit of many, not like the protagonists in adventure stories of Knight novels.

But logically, this is the most reasonable.

He resists thrilling and dramatic experiences, not wanting ongoing matters to spiral out of control, always striving to avoid such situations unless he’s really cornered and forced to face them.

Previously, the battle against Long i’er was an example.

Now, he doesn’t want to repeat that.

He doesn’t desire grand scenes, doesn’t crave passionate battles, just seeking the cold lab bench and tedious experint data records.

All exciting things won’t bring benefits. Only the dull and boring can bring him closer to success.

So then...

In the conference room, the forty-year-old warlock continued outlining the construction plan of the new energy system, and Richard raised his hand.

Sitting at one end of the rectangular conference table, Long i’er raised his eyebrows. He first gestured for the speaking warlock to pause, then looked at Richard, speaking: "Wizard Richard, do you have any questions to raise? Is there anything unreasonable about the new energy system design?"

"No," Richard shook his head, solemnly said, "Actually, I just wanted to inquire about so arrangents regarding the demolition of the residences in Pompeii Town.

My residence is in Zone 12, so if the entire Zone 12 is demolished, I will be affected since I’ve lived there for a long ti. I want to ask, how does the organization plan to handle such matters?"

Long i’er pondered for a mont, then said: "No need to worry, the Stone Buildings in Pompeii Town are still sufficient for now. Even after removing residences including yours, we can still provide other residences."

"But, I have a lot of things in my residence, and moving them will take ti. Especially so fragile lab instrunts and so experintal materials with harsh preservation conditions, needing pre-treatnt before moving." Here, Richard requested, "It might be abrupt, but I hope my residence can be left towards the later schedule of the demolition, preferably after four days, so that I have enough ti to handle these things."

Long i’er listened but didn’t answer directly, and instead looked at the prior speaking warlock, asking: "Wizard Huster, do you think this can be resolved?"

The warlock nad Huster understood Long i’er’s hidden aning in his words: whether it can be resolved concerns capability. "Think" whether it can be resolved ties to attitude.

No need for much thought; naturally, it can be resolved.

After all, this isn’t a big issue anyway.

The warlock straightened his expression, realizing a bit about Richard’s standing in Long i’er’s mind, smiled at Richard, and said: "If Wizard Richard truly has this need, you shouldn’t worry much, I can entirely adjust the demolition sequence a bit—after all, early or late doesn’t make much difference. I can schedule the demolition of buildings near you for the afternoon five days later."

"This way, there should be no problem for you, Wizard Richard?" Long i’er asked.

"None," Richard expressed gratitude, "Thank you, Supervisor Long i’er and Wizard Huster."

"It’s nothing," responded Huster, "I only did what was my duty."

Long i’er smiled and said: "Wizard Richard, given your contributions to the organization all this while, you deserve such a small adjustnt by the organization, and I believe you will make even greater contributions to repay the organization."

"I’ll try my best," Richard replied.

"That’s good," Long i’er thought of sothing, "Hmm, I rember you’ve always valued ti, and since you’ve already given your input on the new energy system construction, if there’s nothing else you wish to discuss, I’m allowing you to leave the eting early to handle your own matters. This way, you’ll have a bit more ti."

Hearing that, Richard was sowhat surprised but didn’t stand on ceremony. He stood up, nodded to Long i’er in thanks: "Then Supervisor Long i’er, I’ll be leaving now."

"Hmm."

Richard turned and walked out of the conference room, disappearing from everyone’s sight.

Watching Richard leave, everyone retracted their gaze, ready to proceed with the eting, when suddenly another young warlock in his thirties raised his hand.

"Wizard Omak, what’s your question?" Long i’er asked aloud.

"Well, Supervisor Long i’er, my residence is in Zone 10, which is also within the area for demolition. I want to ask if my residence can also be handled like Wizard Richard’s, moved to a later schedule, so that I have more ti to transfer things from my residence?"

Long i’er blinked, looked at the warlock nad Huster, and asked aloud: "Wizard Huster, if Wizard Omak’s request is t, will it possibly impact the initial plan?"

This was too evident.

At least it was for Huster, it was very clear. Though posed as a question, Long i’er had already given the answer.

Huster tugged at his lips, showing so difficulty, looked at Omak, and said: "Wizard Omak, I would love to answer you the sa way I did with Wizard Richard, but your residence is in Zone 10, which is a key area for construction, so it might be difficult to delay. I’ll attempt to adjust, but if it doesn’t work, I hope you won’t mind."

"This..." Omak looked at Huster, trying to negotiate a bit, but then heard Long i’er beside him say aloud, "Alright, Wizard Omak, please sit down, cherish everyone’s ti, and let’s continue the eting."

"Uh, okay..." Omak considered himself unlucky, sitting down sowhat disappointedly. He couldn’t help but feel that perhaps he had been treated differently.
