"Ah, I don’t think that would be possible anymore," Adrian replied, massaging his shoulder. "Fighting the Fey took more than I expected. Moreover, I would like to be at my 100% before taking the test you ntioned."
Jas looked a bit surprised but quickly covered up his emotions. If he wanted Adrian to join their fight against the corruption within the DRA, he knew he had to do everything in his power to please him.
"...I see. Please take care of yourself then," Jas replied, walking towards the exit. "It would be a huge loss for us if sothing were to happen to you. You have my number; you can call whenever you feel up to taking the test."
"Will do," Adrian smiled, and Jas left.
Adrian and Seraphina followed suit shortly. On their way back to Villa, he explained everything that happened to her, conveniently hiding that he had obtained a new skill.
"Tsk... the worlds can change, but people’s ntality wouldn’t," she mumbled. "You might not know this, but the Church had been conducting similar experints to turn monsters into puppets and use them against the Nether."
"They were creating chimaeras?" Adrian asked, intrigued as he was one such being.
Seraphina was about to say sothing foul about chimaeras but refrained herself. She didn’t want to accidentally hurt Adrian’s feelings, even though she knew he could handle it, but she held back, not wanting to cause unnecessary trouble.
"It’s fine," Adrian shook his head before gazing out of the car. "One shouldn’t keep things within their hearts. You’re the one who told that, rember?"
Seraphina nodded, choosing to stay quiet for the rest of the journey.

Back at Fenrir’s Villa...
"You’re still here?" Adrian asked George who had made himself ho. "Don’t you have work to do?"
"Look at this shaless rascal," George jumped up, charging towards Adrian. "I’ve been doing everything you asked regarding your accounts, and this is the thanks I get?"
"It doesn’t matter what you were doing if you do not have the results-"
Upon hearing those words, George smirked and slid so papers across the table, "See for yourself, Mr Results."
Adrian glanced at George, doubting he could legally resolve his situation and quickly obtain the company and private accounts. But as he skimd through the papers, his surprise grew. Everything was legitimate.
In just a few hours, George had secured access to the companies and the funds and got Adrian declared alive.
"How the hell-"
"You might not respect ," George scoffed, placing his feet on the table. "But even the courts listen up when the top lawyer on the East Coast speaks. A little favour here and a little money there. Everything gets solved like magic."
"I don’t know what to say. Thanks, man, I owe you one-"
"No, you don’t."
"What?" Adrian asked, squinting.
"I deducted my fees from one of the accounts," George shrugged. "A agre sum of a hundred and fifty thousand dollars."
Adrian imdiately looked at the statents before shaking his head. He didn’t believe that a hundred and fifty thousand dollars was a agre sum, but his perspective shifted instantly once he saw how much money he had in those accounts.
But he noticed sothing strange. The Fenrirs’ primary business, Fenrir Chase and Co., hadn’t shown significant improvent over the years. While it was surprising at first, it also made sense since most of the cars didn’t run on ancient fuels anymore.
As such, their consultant company to various multinational oil and gas corporations would have suffered sowhat.
However, what kept them afloat was the new construction company that his mother had opened. Despite being a daughter company to his, his greedy half-brother and stepfather had nad the company after them.
"Joseph and Jacob’s company? Only those two self-centred jerks could think of a bland-ass na like that," Adrian sneered, then grinned. "But hey, I owe them for giving such a lucrative business."
"Yeah, I wouldn’t be so sure about that," George chid in, sliding another letter to him. "They are taking you to court for the rights to the company."
"What?"
"Yeah, but don’t worry," George casually waved his hand. "They’ll get nowhere, thanks to their greed."
Adrian was still confused, so George explained it to him. In their greed, they had borrowed a ton of money from Adrian’s mom, who gave it through Fenrir Chase and Co. in return for shares in the company.
Adrian didn’t get it, so George broke it down. They got greedy and borrowed a ton of cash from Adrian’s mom, who gave it through Fenrir Chase and Co. in return for shares in the company.
Since the company was still operating under Adrian’s and his mother’s nas, they were both entitled to the shares. Moreover, as the investing company was now completely Adrian’s, he had the right to at least half of those shares.
"I did so math, and once in court, we can argue that you have at least 34% of the shares," George said with a nacing smile. "With that much, they’d have to buy you out, if they really want you out.
He continued, "In the worst case, you might lose the business, but you’d walk away with a hefty sum, more than you’d ever need. In the best case, they’ll have to add you to the board of directors, increasing your funds."
"In other words, it’s a win-win situation for us," Adrian smiled. I always figured you were more like a dolphin, but it turns out you’re a real shark."
"What can I say?" George shrugged. "Best lawyer on the East Coast, baby!"
"..."
"..."
"...I’ll take my leave now," George mumbled, getting off the couch.
"Yeah, you do that," Adrian barely managed to reply before they both broke down laughing.
However, soone wasn’t in such a good mood after what had happened earlier in the day. John Black was busy clearing a dungeon on the other side of the country, but the mont he stepped out, his assistant handed him the phone, and he received the worst news of his life.
"Eudora got arrested?"
