While Sloth might have helped him, the other entities weren’t pleased with the exchange. They wanted to see Adrian struggle and be thrown into the pits of despair as he was forced to consu soone of his kind.

However, Sloth ruined the mont for them, and they weren’t happy with her constant interference. It would have been fine if Adrian had been her apostle, but he wasn’t, which ant she was crossing the limit with her continuous help to the mortal.

Unfortunately, the system didn’t seem to have as much control over matters on Earth as it did in Nexaria, so their complaints fell on deaf ears... for now. But that didn’t an nothing could be done about it.

[The entity, Sin of Sloth, has been banned from the broadcast for ten days. Repeating the sa behaviour will lead to more severe punishnt.]

The decision brought so peace to the other entitites, but Adrian felt a bit bumd out, but he got what he wanted from them and used the new skill to absorb John Black’s lap dog.

Standing over the man, he activated the skill and the next mont, a violently swirling vortex erged from Adrian’s arm.

The man struggled to free himself but in vain. He cried for help, but the deafening roar of the vortex drowned out his cries for rcy. With a final, desperate cry, he was swallowed whole, disappearing into the vortex without a trace.

’Not bad.’

While Adrian thought about thethings he could do with the new skill, the entities threw another fit, calling the skill unfair and advantageous. However, this ti, the admins had enough of their bitching and banned several others, which made everyone keep quiet.

’Why are they acting up so much now of all tis?’

The entities were acting more strangely than usual. During his ti in Nexaria, they would either ignore his progress or applaud him, but now they were acting wary of him for so reason.

Adrian felt strange now that he thought about it, but he had other things to pay attention to, so he left the system to deal with the entities. It was not like he could have done sothing about them on his own.

’Great, now for the next step...’

Adrian drew the small bead from his pocket and grabbed it tightly. The last ti soone put a mana core in him, he was dead, so it didn’t matter. But ssing with sothing so close to his heart could lead to deadly results now that he was ’alive’.

[Caution! The User is advised to proceed cautiously while interfering with the mana core.]

Adrian knew the risks, but that wasn’t stopping him from doing what he had to. With that thought in his head, he began the integration process.

As the old mana core disappeared, his heart went berserk. It began beating so fast that the veins all over his body bulged up, ready to burst at any mont, causing him to grow pale.

Within monts, his breath beca shallow and rugged. Never in his wildest thoughts would Adrian think a re mana core would cause such a reaction within him.

Adrian was thankful for the pain, or else he would have collapsed long back, and in his situation, passing out could have led to death. Not wanting to et Sloth and her siblings in hell just yet, he pushed through.

Things gradually improved as Fey’s mana core replaced the old one. As his mana core was restored, Adrian could feel a new energy coursing through his veins. Every cell of his body had gotten stronger than before.

Getting up, he opened the system and there it was, the proof of his improved self.

Watching his stats and everything, Adrian was quite pleased. He was now stronger than most people he had t in his life. Hell, maybe even stronger than A’Mila and Seraphina despite only being level 30.

However, his thoughts were interrupted by a call he received. Seeing it was from Seraphina, he imdiately picked it up. He had gotten so caught up with the quests that he forgot about Shinon altogether.

"How’s he doing?" Adrian asked. Instead of Seraphina, Shinon’s energetic voice greeted him.

"I can’t believe it! You did it! I feel like myself again!" Shinon yelled at the top of his lungs. "I’m not so shrivelled old fool anymore!"

Hearing his excitent, Adrian chuckled, "Hold on to that feeling. I’ll get there in a bit."

***

Shinon rushed towards Adrian, hugging him tightly when he entered Flintlock’s mansion. Everyone there was in a jolly mood. Even the straight-faced butler couldn’t hide his emotions anymore. Surprisingly, even Jas was there.

"Easy there," Adrian smiled awkwardly, pushing Shinon away and trying to hand him the whip. "Here you go-"

"You can keep it," Shinon enthusiastically replied. "Consider it a gift separate from the deal we made."

"Are you sure?" Adrian asked, wondering if Shinon knew the value of his craft.

"Of course," he replied. "Besides, procuring materials and making weapons for you would take so ti. anwhile, you can use the whip, as I have no use for it either way."

"I- Thank you, I appreciate it."

"No," Shinon shook his head, extending his hand. "thank you. I don’t know what I would have done if it wasn’t for you."

Just then, Jas stepped up. "Now that you have a weapon, how about we test you for your rank?"
