VALENCIA’S POV
"Move away," Alpha Maverick said, and I froze in my place.
Many thoughts started to circulate in my head, sha being the leading one.
I imdiately removed my hands from his cheeks before looking away.
What are you doing, Valencia? How can you allow this man to hover over you even after humiliating you like this? This was the first ti you made a move and this was how he reacted. You were right in not giving him a chance earlier. Why did you have to make a fool out of yourself?
Multiple questions arose in my mind, and I clenched my fists.
I was about to push the man away with all the power I could muster which I am sure would’ve been more than enough to push him away from .
However, before I could do that, Maverick cupped my cheeks.
"Why would you attack like this without a warning? Do you even have any idea what you did just now? I almost felt like my heart would burst from happiness," He whispered, looking straight into my eyes, his words confusing .
What did he really want?
"F*ck, I... I don’t know how to describe my happiness," Maverick said before he kissed my eyes.
"Thank you for finally accepting my feelings. I don’t know if that kiss was just based on your whims or a reaction, but you have no idea how long I have been waiting for it,"
Maverick looked at as if I was so kind of gem he found after struggling for millions of years, his genuine expression dissipating all the thoughts I had previously.
My heart skipped a beat when he took a shaky breath before kissing my cheeks, my forehead, and the corner of my lips sensually one by one.
"You are the best thing that has happened to in my entire life," Maverick said, and my heart thumped loudly in my chest.
I didn’t know what to say. I didn’t know what to believe.
Almost all my senses felt like they had frozen or sothing. How could he say those words so casually?
Isn’t eting your mate supposed to be the best thing happening in your life?
’Was eting your mate the best thing in your life?’ Aurora asked , and I realized how hypocritical I was with this kind of statent.
I looked back into his eyes, wanting to feel his emotions through my senses before I raised my face slightly and he didn’t disappoint this ti.

I closed my eyes as soon as his soft red lips touched mine, making feel the bliss of being in a place that I could call nirvana.
"I want to take your breath away. Caress your skin like those drops of rain you enjoy, trap you in my feelings like a Labrinth you wouldn’t be able to co out of. I want to make you mine," Maverick barely whispered the last part.
I opened my eyes again, looking at him with unsure emotions of my own.
’He is serious, Valencia,’ Aurora whispered, and I wanted to look away, the feeling of guilt consuming when he shifted his hand in a way that he was barely hovering over but his hand was keeping my face in place.
"Don’t be ashad. It’s okay if you don’t feel the sa for . I am ready to wait for however long it takes you," he said.
I sighed.
If only he knew what kind of turmoil was going on inside my chest, what kind of plans I had in mind, he wouldn’t have made this kind of statent.
"Why did you think it was who got hurt?" I asked him to distract him from the topic and he sighed.
"I called you. And the person who picked up your phone said that the owner of this phone, the girl, got into a terrible accident and was taken to the hospital. I swear I am going to kill this person who said those words and -" Maverick started and I couldn’t help but smile at the end of this sentence.
"It was indeed an accident. However, the person who got hurt was Angela. I was just giving my blood to her for better healing since I don’t have a wolf and it won’t affect her," I said and he looked at the cotton on my hand before placing his forehead on mine.
"Drink my blood," he whispered, his words freezing .
What did he an he wanted to drink his blood? There is no way he found out about my craving for blood, right?
"Drink my blood and replenish the blood you lost," he whispered again, and I sighed in relief.
He really had there for so ti.
"You have got so humor for sure. Also, you need to get up," I said, motioning to him how he was still over , and he smirked imdiately.
"As much as I would like to see you in power, I would still prefer our first ti to be how this position is, Mitsuki," He said, and I blushed at his insinuation.
What the hell? How can he say those words with a straight face so easily?
"Alpha Maverick!" I glared at him.
"What? Did you not want to co over to ?" He asked with an innocent face and I felt my lips twitch.
No. You need to keep your act, Valencia. You can’t smile and have him win this. This will only allow him to be more shaless with you. I told myself before shaking my head at him.
"Shut up," I pushed him, and he chuckled before lying beside , his body still touching .
"Look at ," He said, and I turned to my left side to look at him, realizing how close we were.
"Huh, my poor heart," He closed his eyes before pulling close in such a way that our bodies were almost plastered together and my single heart, who had read about this in those romance novels many tis, swooned at his gesture.
"Your poor heart? Why?" Because it fell for ?" I asked, feeling a sudden burst of confidence in myself to flirt with the alpha as he looked at him and he smirked.
He opened his eyes and looked down at .
"How did you know I fell for you? Don’t tell you can now hear my heart’s voice too," He said, smugly, continuing with the flirting and I blushed at his words before rolling my eyes.
"Let go," I tried to push him away, but his hand only tightened around .
"Why? I just found out we have a deeper connection now. Wait Have we already developed a bond? Should I mark you to finalize it?" He asked, and I slapped his chest, heat creeping my neck.
Wait. What the actual hell?
Was I really acting shy because he said sothing like marking ?
What the fuck is wrong with ? Shouldn’t I be threatening him to not say these words again? What the hell is with this blushing reaction as if I am his mate or sothing?
I haven’t fallen for him. There is no doubt about it.
It all started with that kiss. Why did you have to initiate that kiss, you stupid girl?! I wanted to slap myself so bad right now, I swear.
"What are you thinking about?" Maverick asked.
"How nice it feels to be in your arms. Can I squeeze your pom pom?" I asked before widening my eyes when realization dawned upon .
’Aurora!’ I shouted at my wolf, who chuckled at my miseries as if it was her best plaything.
I closed my eyes, unable to face my embarrassnt.
I expected him to chuckle or laugh at my face for saying sothing like this.
However, what he asked next made my heart completely go haywire.
He grabbed my hands and placed it on his chest.
"Do whatever you want with , Mitsuki. Honor by accomplishing your wishes for . Make your sandbag and practice everything you want to do with a man or anyone on . You can do everything," He whispered, looking straight into my eyes.
I looked at him with wide eyes. Was he sure he was the alpha of the most dangerous pack in the world?
How can he shalessly use words like that?
I have never felt so shaful for soone and loved at the sa ti.
"Go away!" I pushed him before getting off the bed so that he wouldn’t be able to grab again.
Without thinking twice, I evened my hair and walked out of the room to check up on how Angela was doing.
’And we both know that’s just an excuse. All you want to do is actually calm your heart,’ Aurora said and I rolled my eyes, not saying anything because she was practically right.
As I was walking towards the reception area to know more about Angela’s surgery, soone grabbed my hand and the familiar touch imdiately made repulsed, all the good emotions in my chest were all gone.
I turned around to glare at the Alpha, who looked back at with a hard gaze.
"How do you know, Alpha Maverick?" Tyler asked , and I suppressed the urge to knock him down.
