VALENCIA’S POV
"Where the f*ck is she?!" I heard a familiar voice as soon as I opened my eyes, and I looked to my side where my little bird was sitting out of the window, looking at with a worried expression on its face, and a smile appeared on my face.
Huh, my poor baby. He was probably worried about why the doctors were taking away my blood.
After I t with the witches who enraged by saying my Pookie Happy would bring misery to , I left the caves imdiately, not wanting to tolerate disrespect from anyone, despite who they were.
While walking out of the caves, rather than going towards the forest, I went straight to the roadside because the risk of being caught by the rogues again was higher in the forests as it was past evening.
However, who would’ve thought it would be a bad decision too?
As soon as I reached the roadside, I spotted one car that I didn’t want to spot even in my wildest dreams. I was already having a tough day, the last thing I wanted to happen was to have a eting with my ex-mate, who was probably here for the alphas et that I heard about from Carl.
I tried to walk back into the forest, but luck wasn’t on my side as he probably recognized and stopped the car right beside .
He got out of the car, his alpha’s attitude still the sa. I could sense the hint of mockery in his eyes as he looked at dead in the eyes.
He probably thought that I would look away or just now down to him because he was so kind of alpha or beg him to take back in his pack because I was suffering in the rogue life. The re thought made scoff inside my head.
Well, now that he stopped, was I going to let him walk all over once again?
"Valencia Brooklyn," He said, looking at his driver and beta, who imdiately nodded at his alpha ticulously and left the area to give us so kind of privacy. I scoffed openly now that he left.
"Tyler," I said, not giving him the respect of using his full na either.
He smirked.
"Still as hot-headed as ever," He comnted.
"Still as arrogant as always. Amazingly, this arrogance didn’t shatter even after eting the strongest alpha," I grinned when I noticed how his expression faltered at the ntion of Alpha Maverick.
"How do you know about the alpha et? Wait. Aren’t you a rogue too since you don’t belong to any pack? Don’t tell now you are running those rogue attacks on my pack to get so kind of revenge," Tyler said, his voice turning a tone deep, and I chuckled.
Yes. I chuckled. That was the only thing I could do rather than insult him openly.
What does he take as? Leading the teams to attack him? If I really wanted to do it, his pack would’ve been buried deep understanding the ground already. I did not have one but two strong alphas in my team.
"Funny of you to think I don’t belong anywhere. Don’t forget, I still got council," I smiled at him.
"You have gotten quite bold. What is it? Has fighting with a couple of rogues and surviving made you believe that you can insult and survive?" He asked.
I smiled in self-mockery before taking a deep breath.
Honestly, I didn’t even know what I was expecting from this man who never considered my feelings or anything.
"Had I ever tried to insult you, Tyler? I loved you. You didn’t want it, and that’s why you humiliated and my love in the worst way possible. Are you sure it has been ?" I asked him.
I saw a flicker of emotions in his eyes before I shook my head.
Yes, I was angry at him. I wanted to make them suffer for what they did to , but it was almost like after eting Alpha Maverick, I didn’t want any controversy with anyone.
"Are you sure you are not leading any attacks towards our pack because of the engagent? Your sister told she sent you an invitation," Tyler said, and I scoffed.
I shook my head at him.
"She stopped being my sister when she stabbed where it hurt the most. She is your future wife now. Also, don’t co accusing of an attack ever. If I get offended, you won’t see the end of it. I haven’t been roaming these jungles for nothing," I said before nodding at him.
"Valencia!"
I looked to my left where Angela was walking towards with a happy smile on her face as she waved.
"You are interacting with humans?" Tyler suddenly asked, and I glared at him.
"That’s none of your business and don’t you -" I couldn’t even complete my sentence when I heard the sound of sothing colliding.
My eyes went wide when I saw Angela’s body flying in the air as she was hit by a car.
That was exactly how I ended up in the hospital. Though I had werewolf blood since I was practically not a wolf, the doctor said that I could give my blood to the girl and help her faster.
There was nothing more important than her well-being for at the mont.
I got up from my bed and walked to the window before opening it enough for it to be able to co inside.
As soon as the bird got inside, it imdiately flew into my arms, placing its head on my shoulder and rubbing itself under my neck, making sigh.
"Hey, nothing is wro-" I couldn’t even complete my sentence when the door of the room was knocked down, and when I say knocked down, the door was indeed lying on the floor.
My gaze t with the raging alpha, whose hazel eyes were almost black as he looked at with seething anger.
My heart skipped a beat and I gulped.
My senses told he was beyond angry.
I took a step back inadvertently when he rushed to using his werewolf speed.
Flinching slightly when he neared , I was shocked when he engulfed in his arms.
"Why the fuck are you hell-bent on making worried? Do you have any idea what kind of thoughts ran through my head when I heard you had an accident?" Alpha Maverick said.
*Hoot* *hoot*
The loud sound of my bird echoed in the room amidst our heavy breathings and fast heartbeats and I realized that my baby was getting squeezed between us.
I pulled away from the alpha with great effort before letting the bird fly away.
"I am not -" I tried to explain to Maverick, but like earlier, he didn’t give any chance to say anything and just pulled close, burying his face in the crook of my neck, holding so close as if he was afraid I would disappear if he lost his grip.
There have been countless tis when he made my heart skip a beat. There were countless tis when he made my heart beat faster its pace.
However, what was happening was completely different.
"Don’t you get it, Mitsuki? I can’t fucking lose you," He whispered, his voice muffled because of how his lips were planted on my skin and I gulped.
’He has fallen in love with us. What did you do, Valencia?’ Aurora suddenly spoke, looking at warily as if it was my fault.
I shook my head inadvertently.
It wasn’t my fault. I wasn’t trapping him or anything.
"I... I don’t know what to say," I said the most logical thing going inside my head, and he sighed before nodding.
"Then don’t. Don’t say anything that might nullify what I feel for you. Just let stay like this for so ti, please," He whispered before tightening his hold even further, and I sighed.
It was getting hard for to breathe, but for so reason, I felt like he needed it, and I humd in his ears.
"How about closing the door first and then hugging properly? I don’t want any interruptions either," I whispered, truly afraid that soone would walk on us and see their alpha hugging .
These people don’t know properly yet, but if they see their alpha with , they will deliberately try to keep an eye on and that was the last thing I wanted to happen.
I could feel him breathe heavily in my ears before he humd.
He pulled away from and I only got a chance to take a deep breath before I was attacked again.
Just how fast he really was? His speed made realize that I wasn’t hugging a normal alpha, but the strongest alpha.
"Alpha Maverick," I said as he hovered over , his eyes still dark hazel.
"What?" His voice was hoarse as if he was barely controlling himself from doing sothing sinful and I sighed.
"Thank you for caring so much about ," I whispered and did sothing I hadn’t thought I would ever do.
I grabbed his face between my hands before placing my lips on his.
