Su ixi subconsciously glanced at Gu Wei.
He ignored her, obviously because they were already divorced.

Su ixi thought about it and felt that it would seem too affected if she kept refusing.

Xiao Ding saw this and asked Su ixi, “Are you worried our boss won’t agree? Don’t worry, our boss is like that, always with a stern face wherever he goes, just ignore him.”
Gu Wei shot Xiao Ding a glance.
Xiao Ding chuckled sheepishly.
They made room for Su ixi, and she sat down.
Since Su ixi had ordered first, her stir-fried lamb liver was served in no ti.

Xiao Ding asked, “Can you handle such spicy food?”
Su ixi replied, “I don’t have much of an appetite today, so I ordered sothing spicier to help eat.”

She then said to Xiao Ding, “Feng City is a big place, I haven’t t him.”
Gu Wei’s hand trembled slightly.
Afterward, they introduced themselves, ntioning where they were from and how to address each other.
Xiao Ding asked Su ixi, “Do you drink?”
Su ixi instantly replied, “Yeah, I can hold my liquor.”
It was true, she didn’t know why she had such a capacity for alcohol, it seed innate.

After finishing her al, Su ixi returned to her room at the clinic.
She heated water to wash her clothes, then lay on the bed.

Early in the morning, the telephone at the health clinic rang incessantly, sounding almost like a death knell.
Su ixi knew there had to be an ergency, so she hurriedly got up and dressed.
Dr. Ma was even quicker. After answering the phone, his face turned pale, and he hastily inford Su ixi, “Xiao Su, hurry, grab the dical kit and go save people. A group of tourists is trapped on the mountain.”
Seeing Dr. Ma’s anxious expression, Su ixi didn’t dare to delay and quickly prepared.
Before coming to assist, she had received training in first aid, mainly for the climate and environnt of the area. If people were trapped on the mountain, it ant the climate was involved.
She prepared oxygen bags and the corresponding dications, then got into the van.
Dr. Ma was more familiar with the roads, so he drove.
Half an hour later, they arrived at the foot of a mountain.
There were tents set up at the base, and two military trucks were parked.
Su ixi also saw Gu Wei; he was directing the pitching of tents and making fire.
The tourists were being carried down on stretchers by the soldiers one by one, and without any hesitation, Su ixi and Dr. Ma got to work examining their conditions.
Last night, a blizzard had hit the area, and the tourists had set up tents on the mountaintop, thinking they would be safe. But the snow piled up too much, collapsing the tents, and there was no signal on the mountain. It was only after a travel blogger risked descending the mountain to seek help that the local troops were notified and ca to rescue.
Su ixi perford first aid and administered oxygen to them, and it was only by midday that these people slowly regained consciousness.
She and Dr. Ma were exhausted from the effort.
At that mont, Xiao Ding ca over to inform her, “Xiao Su, we’ve set up a new tent over there; do you want to co over and sit by the fire to warm up?”
Su ixi didn’t stand on ceremony and joined Dr. Ma.
The tent they set up was wind-resistant, and there was a fire going in front of it.
Sitting down, Su ixi felt her feet were so cold they were nearly frozen stiff.
She hadn’t had the chance to buy snow boots, and in the rush of leaving that morning, she’d only worn a pair of running shoes. She didn’t notice while walking through the snow, but now realized her toes were almost frozen through.
She didn’t care about appearances anymore, took off her snow-soaked shoes and socks, and brought her feet close to the fire.
At that mont, she again felt a piercing gaze. Following her intuition, she looked up to see Gu Wei standing behind her.
Their eyes t, and neither’s gaze rippled.
Rembering how he pretended not to recognize her yesterday, Su ixi deliberately ignored him and focused on warming herself by the fire.
Now that she had stopped working, she only felt tired and hungry, not having had a sip of water since that morning.
Gu Wei turned and walked away.
Not long after, Xiao Ding ca over, bringing Su ixi a thermos of warm water and so compressed biscuits.
“Xiao Su, have so water to warm up your body, and eat so biscuits. They’re not that tasty, but they’ll help stave off hunger,” Xiao Ding said.
Su ixi accepted them and expressed her gratitude, “Thank you.”
“No need to thank ; it was my boss who told to bring them to you,” Xiao Ding added.
“Him?” Su ixi found it hard to believe.
Xiao Ding explained, “Our boss is just a reticent man; he seems as unfeeling as a stone, but he’s kind-hearted. Just because he didn’t speak to you yesterday, doesn’t an he doesn’t care about you. Besides, you worked the hardest this morning.”
Su ixi glanced around and saw Gu Wei handing out food to the travel blogger.
Indeed, he cared for everyone.
Su ixi then drank so water and ate a little bit of the biscuit, which made her feel much better.
After drinking the water, she was about to return the thermos to Xiao Ding, but he had already run off.
She ward herself by the fire a while longer until her socks and shoes had nearly dried, and then she got up to see if there was anywhere else she could be of help.
She also intended to return the thermos to Xiao Ding.
But she didn’t see Xiao Ding; instead, she ran into Da Liu. Da Liu glanced at the thermos in Su ixi’s hand and remarked, “Hey, isn’t that Major Gu’s thermos?”
