“Wait, what’s this? Eat together?!” Sunwoo quickly grabbed his phone again and read the ssage once more.

He hadn’t misread it. “Think about it,” it said. The ssage clearly displayed the words "Let’s eat together" on the screen.

Clank.

Sunwoo’s face twisted as he imdiately stood up.

“Huh? Hey, where are you going?”

Kim Tae-yeol called out in confusion, but Sunwoo had no ti to respond. He quickly turned his body and, without a word, pressed the call button, walking briskly.

The phone rang for a while, but there was no connection to Kang Jinwook. Eventually, Sunwoo heard the ssage stating that the call had not been answered.

He tried calling again, but this ti, a ssage saying that the phone was off greeted him.

“What! What’s going on?”

Sunwoo stared blankly at the phone screen. He had been thrown a bomb, but the person who had done so seed to be ignoring him now.

[What do you an by eating together?]

[Hey, Kang Jinwook. Stop ignoring

and answer already.]

Despite sending multiple ssages, Kang Jinwook didn’t read any of them.

“Hey, Sunwoo. What’s going on? Is sothing wrong?”

Kim Tae-yeol, who had followed behind, asked with a curious and sowhat concerned expression as he noticed Sunwoo’s mood.

Sunwoo grabbed his phone irritably. After reading Kang Jinwook’s ssage, a sudden thought struck him.

It had always felt uneasy, but it seed like it was ti to confirm what he had been suspecting. So, Sunwoo decided to use Kim Tae-yeol.

“Where are you having lunch?”

“Huh?”

“You said you’re having lunch with your coworkers. Where are you going?”

Sunwoo didn’t care about the idea of food making him feel nauseous anymore. His irritation and anger toward Kang Jinwook’s reckless behavior had completely overwheld any thoughts of his own discomfort.

“Ah, oh! That place? It’s a sashimi restaurant up ahead. Oh! What’s this, Sunwoo? Are you coming along? Let’s go! It’s no fun eating alone when we’re on a trip, right?”

Kim Tae-yeol imdiately broke into a cheerful grin. Before Sunwoo could say anything else, he slung his arm around his shoulders and pulled him closer.

When Sunwoo shook his arm off, Kim Tae-yeol sulkily grabbed his wrist. This ti, Sunwoo didn’t resist and allowed himself to be pulled along by Kim Tae-yeol.

The restaurant wasn’t far. The three-story building directly across from the beach was all a sashimi restaurant.

Before entering, Sunwoo glanced around. The street in front of the beach allowed for street parking.

Though there weren’t many cars, he could see several parked here and there. Among them, the car that had caught his attention earlier was now positioned differently.

Sunwoo stared at the car closely.

“Let’s go in.”

Kim Tae-yeol lightly tapped Sunwoo’s arm. Sunwoo looked at the car once more before walking in.

The restaurant was already bustling with custors, likely because it was nearing lunchti. Kim Tae-yeol gave the na of the reservation to the staff, who greeted them with a friendly smile and led them inside.

They took the elevator to the third floor and walked along the hallway.

There were large private rooms lined up, and the staff guided them to a seat with a low table that could comfortably fit about ten people.

Since it wasn’t quite ti for the reservation, there was no one else in the room yet.

“We’ll order when the others arrive,” Kim Tae-yeol said as he seated Sunwoo in the farthest spot. The table by the window, overlooking the sea.

“Anything you want to eat? Pick sothing.”

“It’s fine. Why would I pick? Your colleagues should do that.”

Sunwoo didn’t feel like eating anything in particular. In fact, he shouldn’t even be eating sashimi. The only reason he ca here was to confirm his suspicions.

Sunwoo’s gaze slowly swept across the restaurant below. The number of parked cars seed similar. However, the car that had caught his eye earlier had been moved.

He looked at the beach, then scanned the surroundings again. There were many people, likely due to the sumr season, but there didn’t seem to be any suspicious behavior.

“Still, pick sothing. I brought you here, so you should at least choose sothing.”

Kim Tae-yeol pushed the nu towards Sunwoo with a curious look, wondering what Sunwoo was staring at outside.

But there was nothing special to notice.

“Co to think of it, it’s been a long ti since we’ve been to Jeju, hasn’t it?”

Only then did Sunwoo turn his gaze from the window to look at Kim Tae-yeol. The ‘long ti’ ant that they had been here before, right?

Kim Tae-yeol, noticing Sunwoo’s gaze, smiled and imdiately added,

“Field trip. We were supposed to go to Japan, but suddenly it changed to Jeju, and everyone hated it. But when we got here, the sea was pretty, and honestly, it was fine as long as we didn’t have to study and could just have fun.”

Kim Tae-yeol rambled on nostalgically. Sunwoo just nodded indifferently, then turned his gaze back outside. Sunwoo might not have co before, but it was Kim Tae-yeol’s second ti.

In middle school, the field trip destination had been Gyeongju, and in high school, he hadn’t been able to go anywhere since his mother had been ill.

Sunwoo gazed at the sea. The pastel-colored waves shining in the noon sun were indeed beautiful.

While Sunwoo gazed at the gently rippling sea, Kang Jinwook was on a plane, staring indifferently out the window at Jeju, which was getting closer.

Beside him, Secretary Gwak watched Kang Jinwook’s face with a serious expression, carefully gauging his mood. Since he had removed all the appointnts and started heading to the airport, Gwak had known that sothing was off, but he hadn’t expected Kang Jinwook to actually be flying to Jeju.

Things were quiet for now since the executives didn’t know what was happening, but once they found out that Kang Jinwook had co to Jeju, their phones would start ringing off the hook.

How to handle the situation was giving Gwak a headache. Yet, Kang Jinwook was calmly looking out the window, and Gwak felt a dull ache in his stomach, as he had been for the past few years dealing with Kang Jinwook’s unpredictable actions.

‘Sunwoo said he had ulcers. Yeah, that makes sense. How could it not? Anyone would feel that way.’

Gwak deeply sympathized with Sunwoo’s diagnosis. After dealing with Kang Jinwook for so many years, Gwak had occasionally felt similar symptoms. He could only imagine how bad it was for Sunwoo.

What would Sunwoo’s reaction be when he finds out that Kang Jinwook is flying to Jeju? That was another worry.

Lately, Sunwoo had been unpredictable, like a rubber ball, and it was Kang Jinwook who kept making him bounce higher.

‘Please, let nothing happen!’

As Gwak folded his hands in earnest prayer, the plane began its descent. With a bump, it shook slightly and landed on the runway, gradually coming to a stop.

Kang Jinwook sprang up and walked ahead. The waiting stewardess stepped forward to guide him, but he ignored her and briskly left the plane, with the stewardess following behind in confusion.

Following a special exit, Kang Jinwook made his way out, and Gwak quickly contacted the local driver, who was waiting.

The mont Kang Jinwook exited the airport gate, a car stopped right in front of him, as if it had been waiting for this exact mont.

“We’ll take you this way.”

The driver quickly ran to greet him, opening the door. Kang Jinwook looked at the car with a stern face, then took out his phone.

After turning it on, the ssages started flooding in. There were several, but the one that caught Kang Jinwook’s attention was the one from Sunwoo.

Upon reading the last ssage, Kang Jinwook’s lips curled into a smile. Every ti Sunwoo called him “Kang Jinwook-ssi,” it left him with a strange feeling.

Without hesitation, Kang Jinwook pressed the call button.

Hello?

Soon, Sunwoo’s voice ca through the phone.

“Have you thought about what you’re eating?”

Well, not really. By the way, Kang Jinwook-ssi, what do you an by ‘eating together’? Are you suggesting a video call or sothing?”

Kang Jinwook, though using the latest smartphone, was not particularly tech-savvy. He used it mainly for ssages and calls.

In fact, he didn’t enjoy typing, but since Sunwoo had contacted him often through the built-in ssenger app, he had managed to use it.

Even though Sunwoo’s pictures were being sent in real-ti, Kang Jinwook had never thought about saving them. So, the idea of a video call never crossed his mind.

“Sounds good.”

What’s good about it?

Sunwoo muttered as if Kang Jinwook should hear it. Kang Jinwook smiled again, enjoying the conversation. Lately, it had been quite fun talking like this with Sunwoo.

Though they weren’t physically together, frequent contact had made Sunwoo seem more at ease with him than before.

“That would be fine, but not right now.”

I suppose not. After all, you must have other things to do, right?

“What do you an?”

Having soone watching over . I guess it’s a pointless question, it must have been from the start.

Kang Jinwook glanced at Secretary Gwak, who was talking to a parking attendant, as he thought about what Sunwoo had said.

“Ah.”

Sigh...

Sunwoo let out a frustrated sigh again. Kang Jinwook leaned in, waiting for what Sunwoo would say next.

Secretary Gwak ca over with an embarrassed look on his face.

“Director, we need to move.”

Kang Jinwook climbed into the car, still waiting for Sunwoo to speak. anwhile, Secretary Gwak sent the address he had received from the guard assigned to Sunwoo to the driver. The sashimi restaurant was about an hour away by car.

Kang Jinwook looked at the na on the GPS. It didn’t seem like a cheap place, considering how expensive it was.

Hey, Kang Jinwook.

At Sunwoo’s call, Kang Jinwook’s eyes widened. Not sure if he was aware of it or not, but Sunwoo added sothing through the phone.

Didn’t I tell you not to follow ?
