"Tell

the truth, Zhou Yuwen. Are you reborn too?" Su Qing asked as they picked out food, seizing the opportunity while no one else was around. Zhou Yuwen, naturally, would never admit to such a thing.

"What do you an by 'reborn'? I don't understand what you're talking about," Zhou Yuwen replied, feigning ignorance.

Seeing Zhou Yuwen about to leave, Su Qing grabbed his arm and looked at him with determination. "What if I told you that I'm reborn? Would you believe ?"

Zhou Yuwen looked genuinely surprised. "Really?"

Su Qing nodded seriously. "In my previous life, you were my husband. We were married for many years, and we even had a child!"

Zhou Yuwen was taken aback. He thought, "Could it be that we were reborn at different tis?" But it didn't make sense because they had already divorced. How could they have a child together? Seeing Su Qing's evasive eyes, he thought she might be making it up.

"Zhou Yuwen, this is my biggest secret. Now that I've told you, don't you have anything to say to ?" Su Qing held Zhou Yuwen's hand, looking at him earnestly.

Zhou Yuwen nodded. "Yes."

"What is it?" Su Qing felt a bit hopeful.

"Just don't tell anyone else about this, or they'll think you're crazy and lock you up," Zhou Yuwen said quietly, then walked away. Su Qing was left stunned for a mont before stomping her foot in frustration. She chased after him, insisting, "I'm telling the truth!"

Back at the table, Zhou Yuwen noticed Lu Lin smoking a cigarette with her legs crossed. This surprised him, as it did Chang Hao, who exclaid, "Wow, Lin Jie, you smoke too?"

Lu Lin looked up and smiled apologetically. "I didn't bring my own, so I took one from your pack."

"No problem," Chang Hao replied. Having just finished his own cigarette, he lit another to accompany Lu Lin. "How do you like this brand?" he asked.

"It's alright," Lu Lin replied.

Despite being young, Lu Lin's mannerisms and way of holding the cigarette suggested she had a story to tell. She seed far more mature than the other girls, even more so than Su Qing, who had been reborn.

Chang Hao offered a cigarette to Zhou Yuwen, who declined. Su Qing was pleased, rembering that in their previous life, Zhou Yuwen had quit smoking after they started dating.

Chang Hao didn’t offer a cigarette to Li Qiang, who helped himself to one. He felt more at ease smoking with company.

Zheng Yanyan nudged Chang Hao, chiding him to learn from Zhou Yuwen and not smoke in front of so many girls. "But Lin Jie is smoking too," Chang Hao pointed out.

Lu Lin simply smiled, an elegant and slightly lazy smile that made her seem different from ordinary university students.

Zhou Yuwen couldn't help but glance at Lu Lin, her smoking intriguing him. Su Qing noticed and poked Zhou Yuwen. "What are you looking at?"

"Zhou Yuwen is looking at Lu Lin!" Zheng Yanyan teased.

"So? Can't I look?" Zhou Yuwen retorted.

"Look at him, Su Qing! He's thinking of moving on to soone else," Zheng Yanyan joked.

The group laughed and teased, but Lu Lin remained unfazed, continuing to smoke gracefully.

They arrived at the restaurant around six and stayed until nine, chatting and drinking. Chang Hao and Zheng Yanyan drank the most, being the instigators, while Li Qiang followed suit. Chang Hao frequently toasted with Lu Lin, clearly taken by her.

Despite claiming not to drink much, Lu Lin handled her alcohol well enough to keep up with the boys. After toasting with Chang Hao and Li Qiang, she turned to Zhou Yuwen and asked if he wanted to drink.

Zhou Yuwen shook his head. "I don't drink."

Lu Lin nodded and sipped her drink slowly, showing no signs of disappointnt.

At nine, Chang Hao settled the bill and suggested, "Alright, everyone! Next stop, KTV!"

Li Qiang asked, "Are you treating us to KTV too, Brother Hao?"

Chang Hao frowned slightly. "Don't worry about the money. Just follow along."

Having had a couple of beers, Chang Hao was eager to continue the night with so singing. Shen Yu, who had initially not planned to join, felt guilty when she learned that Chang Hao had paid for everyone’s al.

As they left the restaurant, Shen Yu pulled Zheng Yanyan aside. "Since Chang Hao treated us to dinner, our dorm should cover the KTV, right?"

Zheng Yanyan wanted to go but was curious. "Why? He said he would treat us."

Shen Yu estimated the dinner cost about eight hundred yuan. "It doesn't seem fair to let them pay for everything. We should chip in."

Zheng Yanyan felt it was unnecessary. "We're pretty girls keeping them company. That's enough."

But Shen Yu insisted. "If you don't want to, I'll cover the KTV cost myself."
