Vincent Vance chuckled helplessly and quickly took the opportunity to plant a kiss on May Morgan’s cheek, taking a bit of advantage.

After finishing a bowl of porridge, May Morgan placed the empty bowl on the table and unexpectedly caught sight of the amulet placed by Vincent Vance on the desk.

"How is my dad... doing now?" May Morgan asked hesitantly, her eyes fixed on the amulet her father always wore, suddenly feeling uneasy.

Vincent Vance paused, then truthfully replied to her: "I heard that he’s lost his mind, doesn’t speak at all. My people sent him to a nursing ho, and all necessary examinations have been done. His brain hasn’t suffered any severe impact, and there’s no sign of poisoning in his body, but he’s just senseless, doesn’t respond to any questions."

May Morgan bit her lip and, after hesitating for a while, suddenly looked up at Vincent Vance and suggested, ’I want to see him, is that possible?’

"...Sure, I actually wanted to visit him as well. I’ll take you there."

Originally, even if May Morgan hadn’t suggested visiting Mason Morgan, Vincent Vance had planned to take a trip to the nursing ho to check on Mason Morgan’s condition. Now that May Morgan also wanted to go, it was perfect to take her along.

Perhaps seeing his daughter might improve Mason Morgan’s condition?

Saying this, Vincent Vance took out his phone, called for four experienced bodyguards to prepare, and then took May Morgan to the nursing ho where Mason Morgan was staying.

The nursing ho Vincent Vance found for Mason Morgan was the best in the city. The room he stayed in was a two-bedroom apartnt kind of high-class suite. In addition to the staff, Vincent Vance had also hired three professional caregivers to look after Mason Morgan, so although Mason was in a ntal institution, he wasn’t suffering at all.

Mason Morgan’s wife, lody White, could have co to the hospital to take care of Mason Morgan, but she looked down on the fact that it was a ntal hospital and was afraid it might have a bad impact on her. So since Mason Morgan was hospitalized, she only ca one day, but because she found caring for a patient too exhausting, she never showed up again.

They say true feelings erge in hard tis. Unfortunately, despite all Mason Morgan’s efforts and dedication towards lody White and her daughter, he ended up relying on the care of his less favored younger daughter to survive.

When May Morgan pushed the door open, Mason Morgan was foolishly sitting on the hospital bed, staring blankly. Despite a caregiver holding clean water and using a damp towel to wipe his arms and neck, which sweat easily, he remained motionless.

Since Mason Morgan beca dented, his basic living abilities were almost gone. He needed help to go to the bathroom, be fed during als, and even be bathed. Without the people Vincent Vance assigned to assist, no one knew how he would manage.

Seeing Vincent Vance and May Morgan enter, the caregiver hurriedly greeted Vincent Vance, ’Eldest Master Vance, you’re here?’

Vincent Vance nodded, turned to glance at Mason Morgan, who still looked in good condition, and asked the caregiver, ’Has he spoken recently?’

The caregiver quickly shook their head, saying, "No, these days not a word from Mr. Morgan, when we ask him things he remains silent. If we give him food, he’ll eat; if not, he stays hungry without calling or complaining. If he needs to go to the bathroom and we’re not quick enough to assist, he’ll wet his pants, and won’t even feel uncomfortable, just sits there until we find out and change him. Poor guy..."

Hearing the caregiver’s words made May Morgan feel deeply sad. She couldn’t help but glance at Mason Morgan, still sitting on the bed, acting as if he hadn’t seen their arrival. Just as she was about to step forward, Vincent Vance decisively held her hand, shaking his head to signal she shouldn’t go forward.

"He’s not genuinely a fool; he can still be sowhat aggressive. Last ti when I took his amulet off his chest, he went crazy like it was a matter of life and death. It took several people to restrain him, and he insisted on getting the amulet back at all costs."

Recalling Mason Morgan’s madness at the police station last ti, Vincent Vance cautiously pulled May Morgan back another ter away.

"You’re pregnant now, and his mind is unclear. Safety must co first; don’t get too close to him, in case he hurts you."

May Morgan felt Vincent Vance’s words made sense, so she nodded and replied, "I understand. I’ll just speak to him from a distance."

Actually, on the way there, May Morgan had thought of many things to sha Mason Morgan about, because every ti she rembered the pain he had imposed on her over the years, she felt unable to forgive him, truly unable to forgive.

But now seeing him like this, May Morgan suddenly felt a pang of compassion. He’s lost his mind; no matter how much more she shas or speaks harshly, he won’t hear it, right?

"Mason Morgan, do you still recognize ? I’m May Morgan?"

May Morgan could never bring herself to call Mason Morgan father; after all, their father-daughter relationship was tenuous. May Morgan had always been used to calling him by his na, so now she truly couldn’t change the way she called him.

Perhaps it was May Morgan’s voice that stimulated Mason Morgan to so extent. As soon as May Morgan finished speaking, Mason Morgan actually seed to have a reaction and slowly turned his head to look in the direction of May Morgan and Vincent Vance.

But he only glanced at May Morgan and then, as if he saw unrelated people, slowly turned his head away again, not saying a word.

Vincent Vance, rather disappointed, said to May Morgan, ’It seems your father is truly out of it; should we head back?’

May Morgan bit her lip and suddenly turned to Vincent Vance, saying, "Let try again, okay? This ti I’ll get a bit closer and talk to him more, see if it might awaken so of his mories?"

"This..." Vincent Vance hesitated, glancing at Mason Morgan who still sat pragmatically on the bed, looking at May Morgan, not daring to take any risks: "Better not; his condition might not be sothing you can resolve. Even the doctors have no solution."

"Let try, okay? By the way, where’s that photo album I asked you to bring?" May was persistent, refusing to leave, and asked Vincent for the photo album she had from her old ho.

The album, always kept by Vincent Vance, contained photos from May Morgan’s childhood. Of course, besides May’s pictures, there were family photos, including those of her grandmother, mother, and Mason Morgan.

The most special and well-preserved photo by her mother was a family portrait from when she was very young, still being held in her grandmother’s arms. At that ti, Mason Morgan hadn’t betrayed her mother or left ho to marry another woman.

After receiving the album from Vincent Vance, May Morgan started walking towards Mason Morgan. Afraid that Mason Morgan might suddenly go mad, Vincent Vance quickly signaled his bodyguards to keep Mason Morgan under control.
