The silver sword’s light pierced into the sky, and Damian kept looking up while running. "Co on, Master... please tell that thing actually worked."

Behind him, Morven’s aura grew closer and closer as he roared, "You think a broken token can save you? No one is coming for you!"

Damian’s mouth twitched. "Old man, can you not raise a flag like that?"

The mont his words fell, the world suddenly beca silent.

A cold sword pressure descended from above, and even Morven froze for a mont.

Damian looked up.

Soon, a silver-white figure appeared in the air, standing calmly above the treetops while looking down at both of them.

That person was Selvara.

She looked at Damian with a faint frown. "What trouble did you make this ti?"

Damian imdiately pointed behind him. "Master, this one is really not my fault. I was just unlucky enough to et him."

Selvara’s gaze shifted toward Morven.

Morven’s expression changed slightly when he felt her aura, but he still raised his spear and shouted.

"Who are you? I am Morven Kraal, elder of the Night Fragrance Pavilion! If you dare interfere..."

Before he could finish, Selvara’s brows narrowed. "Night Fragrance Pavilion again?"

Damian shrugged helplessly. "I don’t know why I keep eting them. Master, just help this ti again, please."

Selvara could only sigh.

After all, Damian was her disciple, and she also did not have a good impression of this elder.

She slowly lifted one finger toward Morven.

Morven’s face darkened when he saw that slow movent. "You dare look down on ?"

Dark Qi erupted from his spear.

[Black Serpent Spear Art]

A massive black serpent ford from spear Qi and lunged toward Selvara with its mouth wide open.

Selvara did not move.

She only dropped her finger like usual.

[Heaven Severing Sword Finger]

Imdiately, a thin silver light flashed from her finger, splitting the black serpent in half and shocking Morven.

Before he could even react, the silver light crossed the distance and cut straight through his spear, his protective Qi, and his shoulder.

Morven staggered back, horror finally appearing on his face as he clutched his injured shoulder.

He stared at Selvara with fear in his eyes. "Who... who are you?"

Selvara looked at him coldly. "Now you ask?"

Morven’s face stiffened.

Selvara’s silver eyes beca even colder. "After chasing my disciple through the forest, trying to kill him, and attacking first, only now do you rember to ask who I am?"

Damian stood behind her and nodded seriously. "Exactly. Master, these people really are stupid."

Selvara glanced at him. "You are not much better."

Damian imdiately shut his mouth.

Morven gritted his teeth and forced himself to stand straight. "This is a matter of the Night Fragrance Pavilion. If you kill , our pavilion will not let this go!"

Selvara’s expression did not change.

Damian’s mouth twitched. "Old man, are you seriously threatening her now? After she cut your spear in half with one finger?"

Morven ignored him and glared at Selvara. "Think carefully. The Night Fragrance Pavilion has deep roots. You may be strong, but—"

Selvara raised her finger again, ignoring him completely. No, she did not even care about what Morven was saying at all.

She did not care if the Night Fragrance Pavilion behind this old man suddenly ca for her afterward.

Selvara spoke calmly. "You attacked a core disciple of the Heavenly Sword Sect, tried to kill him, and even dared to threaten ."

A thin silver light gathered at her fingertip, and the pressure around her beca sharper with every passing second.

Morven’s face turned pale. "Wait... we can talk..."

But Selvara ignored him and dropped her finger down. "Die."

[Heaven Severing Sword Finger]

A silver line flashed through the forest toward Morven.

There was no loud explosion.

There was no shocking blast.

There was only one clean, terrifyingly sharp sword light.

Morven froze in place as a thin line appeared across his body, running from his shoulder to his neck.

A mont later, both his head and body collapsed onto the forest ground.

The Golden Core elder of the Night Fragrance Pavilion died without even letting out a final scream.

Damian stared at the scene for a mont before slowly looking back at Selvara. "Master..."

Selvara turned toward him.

Damian swallowed. "You are really damn scary."

Selvara’s eyes narrowed slightly. "Do you want to train more after we return?"

Damian imdiately shook his head. "No, Master. I an you are really damn reliable."

Selvara stared at him for a few seconds before turning away. "Explain everything."

Damian’s smile stiffened. "...Can I start with the part where this really was not my fault?"

Selvara stared at him silently.

That silence was more terrifying than Morven’s spear.

Damian coughed lightly and quickly explained, "The client for my mission, Marden Lou, apparently accepted another assignnt unknown to the escort team."

Selvara’s eyes narrowed slightly. "Another assignnt?"

Damian nodded. "Yes. He was transporting a sealed jade box along with the normal goods, but none of us disciples knew about it."

He pointed toward Morven’s corpse. "That thing was probably why this old bastard appeared."

Selvara’s gaze moved toward the body, then back to Damian. "Where is the item?"

Damian froze for half a breath before slowly reaching into his storage ring and taking out the sealed jade box. "Here."

Selvara looked at the box but did not imdiately take it. "You kept it?"

Damian’s mouth twitched. "Master, I was being chased by a Golden Core cultivator. I didn’t exactly have ti to politely return it."

Selvara said nothing.

Damian quickly added, "Also, if I gave it back to Marden Lou, the caravan would probably keep getting hunted. Their target was clearly this box."

Selvara finally nodded faintly. "That judgnt is not wrong."

Damian secretly relaxed.

Then Selvara asked, "Do you know what is inside?"

This ti, Damian froze again, not knowing how to answer.

In the end, he could only grit his teeth and carefully choose his words.
