"What is it?" The furrow between his brows deepened when Hazel didn’t answer his question imdiately. "Are you hurt?" The first thing that ca to his mind was: Arlo had done sothing to hurt her.

"Hm..." Hazel thought about it. "No... I guess."

"What does that an?"

Now Hazel looked confused; she lowered her head and then stared at her stomach. She raised her hand and caressed her belly. "I think... I have a stomachache?" She was still unsure.

Only then did Ranon get it.

"The baby is moving," he said with certainty.

"How do you know that?" Hazel lifted her head and looked at him with surprise. The possibility didn’t cross her mind, probably because her conversation with Arlo had occupied most of her attention. "I think you are right."

At first, she thought she had a stomachache, but it didn’t feel like it; and then she guessed she was hungry because her stomach was churning, but it didn’t feel right.

"You need to read more books and watch more videos about pregnancy." Ranon caressed her cheek.

"Excuse ?" Hazel scrunched her nose; it was she who, at so point, bombarded him with articles and videos about pregnancy; how could he confidently say that?

Yet, Ranon was not in the mood to argue with her. He took her hand and walked away from the crowded people.

He slowed down his step and kept his arm still on her waist protectively.

This sight didn’t sit well with Ema, who was watching them the entire ti. Not only Ranon but also Ema paid close attention when Hazel was dancing with Arlo; she felt there was sothing off about it.

They were supposed to et for the first ti, but from afar, whatever conversation they had felt important and serious.

Ema was rather upset that Ranon didn’t notice it.

"Is she alright?" Carl asked in a low voice as he watched Laurel’s sleeping face through the rearview mirror. He thought she was sleeping. "She looks pale; should we take her to the hospital?"

Jas didn’t imdiately answer that; instead, he stared at his wife, who obviously put a distance between them.

"No. She said she didn’t want to go. She wanted to go ho imdiately." Jas furrowed his brows. "She will be upset if we take her to the hospital." Laurel was not in a great mood since their fight; he didn’t want to irritate her even more.

Laurel beca aloof.

It was not like this before. She used to try harder to make peace at ho, but Jas got the feeling that she no longer cared.

"Are you still going to et with Mother?" Carl asked. He balled his fists.

"Yes." Jas then looked at the traffic out there. "Tell your stepmother that you are going to have a sleepover with your friend. I will pick you up like usual."

Carl said nothing; he stared at the traffic light too.

Both of them were deep in their thoughts, while Laurel was buried in her darkest thoughts.

It was confird that Carl knew about what his father was doing all this ti with Alia, and he covered it for them.

The betrayal cut so deep.

"What are you doing?" Hazel widened her eyes; they were in the main bedroom in this resort.

The plan was for them to stay the night before their flight early in the morning to their honeymoon location.

"Ssh."

Ranon shushed her and let her lean against the wall while he knelt in front of her. Hazel looked at him interestedly.

At first, Ranon only stared at her stomach before he put his hand on top of her belly. His touch was light, almost ticklish, but when Hazel tried to move away, he made her stay still.

"Don’t move." His voice was not stern; it almost sounded like he was cooing a child. "Do you feel the baby move again?"

It was hard to see the movent because Hazel was still wearing her nightdress, and it was a little bit loose around the stomach.

"Not yet..."

"Hm..." Ranon stretched the nightdress to show her belly, but it was not enough. "Take it off."

Hazel giggled. "You really like to see naked, don’t you?" She crossed her arms. "If you want to take it off, try to ask nicely. Maybe you can start using the word ’please.’"

Ranon lifted his head and t her mischievous brown eyes. She was playing with him.

However, Ranon seemingly was in an excellent mood. He played along with her. "Please. Take off this fucking dress."

Hazel laughed so hard, and so did Ranon. It sounded refreshing to hear her laughter and how her face turned red.

"You know that you can’t curse, right?"

"My bad."

Ranon stood up and turned Hazel’s body around so he could get the zipper on her back, and without hesitation, he pulled it down.

Hazel didn’t protest; instead, she made it easier for him, and once she was only in her undergarnt, Ranon turned her body around again and kissed her neck.

"I thought you wanted to feel the baby’s movent." Hazel closed her eyes, enjoying the attention.

"The baby needs stimulation."

It was hard to know whether that was true or not, but it seed their baby indeed responded to that, and when Hazel jerked her body because she felt the kick on her stomach, Ranon smirked devilishly.

"I think your theory is right." Hazel watched Ranon kneel in front of her and place his hand over her belly to feel the movent. "You didn’t kneel down when you proposed to , but you did it for the baby."

Ranon didn’t say anything about it and simply leaned over to kiss her stomach. His lips were cold, but his breath was warm against her skin.

anwhile, Hazel had this urge to run her fingers through his hair, and that was what she did. It felt so right and natural to be affectionate with each other like this.
