June2024update:I'vedecidedtodiscontinueupdatesonTwoofKnavesfortheforeseeablefuture.I'vestruggledtocontinuethisseriesbecausegettingintothemindsetofaselfishly-drivenanti-heroleadwellenoughtoconvincinglyportrayDarcent'sattitudeandtheenvironmentinwhichhelives,aswellashisgenerallypooroutlooktendstoseriouslyaffectmyownmoodinanegativeway.Itturnsoutthatwritingaboutaworldwhereeveryoneisaselfishassholeisjustnotforme,andI'dratherfocusmyenergyonstorieswherepeoplegrowandworktogethertodowhattheybelieveisright,ratherthanwhattheyknowiswrong.Asidefromthat,it'salsodifficulttojustifytimespentonthisprojectwhendespiteitshighaveragerating,itisstilltheleastpopularandleastengagedwithofmyongoingseriesbothonandoffNovelFire,andIhavemynextserialprojectalreadylinedup.What'spostednowcomprisesthefirstbook,whichextendsuptoChapter79,aswellasthefirst20orsochaptersofthesecondbook.Ifyoudecidetoread,Ihopeyouenjoy,butdosoknowingthisstoryisnotcurrentlymypriority.AfailedseerandastrugglingbrawlerfindtheirpathsinextricablylinkedDarcentofStitchAlleyearnedhimselfafullridetothepremiermagicacademyforSoulSeekers,powerfulmageswhocastspellsbybondingwiththeDeckofWills.Untilheflunkedout,bondingonlywithcardstheacademydeemedtoounsavoryforsensiblemages.AnnalisaofDunnemarshisadevilborntouchedbytheplanes-andinterestedonlyinwhatshecansmashwithherfists.Obsessedwithbecomingthestrongestfighterinthecity,ifonlyshecouldpullherthoughtstogetherlongenoughtofocusherstrength.Bothoutcastsdrawntogetherbyfateandmishap,thepairturnlooseonthemeanstreetsofDragonmaw,thecitythatswallowsall.Andineachother,theyfindmorethanmerekinshipandcamaraderie.Theyfindapathtopowerthatcanonlybetreadtogether.
