’Damn that last week was really unsatisfying, not even level 21 wolves are any fun to fight anymore...’ Lun was complaining internally as he thought about his recent hunts.
It had been a week since he had first fought the level 21 wolf, and during this period he had ramped up his hunting expedition in order to make his way towards the boss and end this dungeon once and for all.
This increased period of hunting naturally resulted in him finding quite a lot more packs of higher wolves than usual, with each pack growing slightly in level the more he explored deeper into the dungeon.
With these higher levelled and higher amount of wolves, his levelling speed once again took a speedier approach than normal, now only a thread of experience away from reaching level 20, and acquiring a new skill.
’Surely by now I must have travelled at least 100 kilotres into this place, just how massive is this cave.’
Lun was beginning to doubt that this place was even in the sa space as the tutorial, the sheer size of the cave was huge and he hadn’t even noticed any signs of it ending, each vast expanse of caverns only growing in size as he kept exploring forwards.
The most recent cavern he had traversed was at least 500 tres tall and a few kilotres in diater, it also happened to be one that held a pack of wolves each at level 23.
Although these wolves were so close to being an entire soul tier higher than him, they were still not enough to be a real threat to his life, though they were tougher to fight in packs than the lower levelled wolves while he was at a lower level.
These level 20 wolves were not only smarter and larger in body size, they also held so ability to manipulate their affinity with the darkness elent and so he was only able to deal with at most a pack of 4 level 23 wolves.
Any more than that and he would have to resort to guerrilla tactics in a long and drawn out battle, maybe spanning across days rather than the few minutes or hours it usually took him.
Once Lun had cleared out the huge open space of the wolves, he decided to make the place his temporary resting place as he hadn’t had any proper shut eye for the last 3 days. He had spent the entire ti hunting, or more accurately just walking through the swirling tunnels for hours on end until he ca across Rabid wolf beasts.
’I hope tomorrow will offer sothing different than this monotonous lifestyle, sothing fun and exciting to throw my way.’ Lun sighed as he finally had the chance to enter his survival tent purchased from the system store and get so well deserved sleep.
The next day, or night.
Lun didn’t really know which it was as it was always dark in the caves, nor did he really care what the ti was as it wasn’t important to him at the mont.
The only ti that concerned him was the one counting down to the end of the tutorial on the tutorial panel. There was now less than a month left until the end of the tutorial, leaving a very sour look on Lun’s face as he had nearly spent a whole month in the dungeon and still hadn’t even caught sight of the boss.
’At this rate, I probably won’t even be able to complete this dungeon before the tutorial even ends...’
However no matter what Lun wanted or thought of the situation, the only thing that he could do about it was to continue killing Rabid wolves and continue his long trek through the vast caves.
So he did just that, and continued onwards to the exit of the huge cavern that led straight into a smaller tunnel with the ceiling there only being 3 tres tall. He continued walking along this tunnel, expecting another few twists, turns and crossroads to et him as he continued walking, but no matter how long or far he traversed the path, he t no such thing.
He walked and walked until sothing other than wet rock finally made it’s way into Lun’s range of perception. At first he thought it was another rabid wolf, but as he approached closer to the object his perception had picked up, he quickly realised he was wrong.
Contrary to what he had expected, it wasn’t even anything living. Instead it was a large clump of pitch black fur, much different to the dark grey fur that adorned the normal rabid wolves he had been hunting for the past month.
Lun briefly had a sense of Deja vu upon noticing the fur, but couldn’t quite put his finger on what exactly gave him this feeling.
It was only a few seconds later, when he heard so light and steady footsteps coming from ahead of him in the darkness of the hallway that he recalled where this feeling ca from.
’An Elite!’
The fur looked exactly like that which covered the level 12 Elite wolf’s spine that he encountered weeks prior when he first entered the dungeon.
Lun’s awareness and vigilance reached it’s maximum in an instant as soon as he learned of the origin of this fur, knowing that the footsteps slowly increasing in volu from ahead of him was most likely the owner of the fur.
He didn’t have to wait long for the culprit to reveal itself as soon a wolf standing nearly 3 tres tall approached him. The thing barely managed to fit it’s huge body into the 3 tre tall hallway.
’I can see why so much of it’s fur was left on the floor and walls now...’ Lun joked to himself in his mind but kept a stern face on and kept his eye on the large beast the whole ti.
No ti was wasted in between sighting the beast and Lun casting Inspect to assess the enemy facing him.
