First of all, everyone was surprised because Emtt raised his voice. On top of that, he moved his hands around dramatically in a manner they had not see before.
Additionally, his face had turned a strange shade of red that definitely ant he was well and truly vexed with his Scarlet and Esong.
Why he was so angry, the couple could not fathom.
"I was defending myself." Scarlet answered.
"Yeah, it was self defense." Esong parroted as well.
Emtt glared at them both fiercely and Scarlet felt the urge to hide behind Esong’s broad shoulders. His father was actually sort of scary when he was angered.
Now she could understand why Emory was quick to shut her mouth when he called her na sternly
Esong held Scarlet’s hand firmly and returned the fierce gaze his father was shooting at them.
"Father, you are scaring my wife."
"Oh, now she is scared. Where was that fear when she was practically choking a man in a public or making herself a target? Have you taught your wife nothing about royalty Esong?" he roared.
Scarlet blinked like a confused little lamb while the Su’s, especially Dorian and ga shared a mutual pained look. Scarlet simply refused to learn. She thought isolating herself on the Blue star away from the nobles and royals made everything fine.
ga even sighed.
Cecily on the other hand felt bad for Scarlet and Esong so she decided to intervene.
"Relax Emtt I have..."
That scary glare which felt like dissection with a laser was turned on her and even Cecily was left montarily speechless.
"Don’t look at your mother like that." Etienne tossed sothing at Emtt.
It was a small ball which Emtt stopped with his ntal strength and it felt down to the floor.
Ignorant of the fact that his parents were being chastised, Justin run over and picked up the ball.
The way he did it made Elroy, Gregor and Halley giggle, which in turn forced ga to glare at them.
"My wife has the right to defend herself from all attacks using any ans necessary. If she twisted that man’s neck or ripped it off with her bare hands I would stand and applaud her.
In fact, if she wanted to behead him I would have willingly handed over the energy sword for her to do so. Royalty or not, any threat to her will be dealt with harshly in public or private."
Esong did not show the slightest fear for his father when he declared this.
Emtt looked at Etienne, his eyes were lost as if he was dealing with a helpless case.
"You deal with this father."
Etienne sighed and looked at the couple. Handling mutated beasts was easier than handling family affairs.
"Are you both okay?" he asked.
"Yes grandfather Etienne." Scarlet answered.
Esong simply nodded.
"I am okay great grandfather." Justin included himself.
He was squeezing the squishy ball with his fingers and smiling happily.
Etienne spared a doting smile for his adorable great grandson and decided there and then that everyone should speak softly so as not to scare him.
"No one should raise their voice again. We are going to talk with smiles as if this is a happy conversation. Does everyone here understand?"
A bunch of yes’s went around the room.
"Now, let’s begin with where you went wrong first." Like a teacher he addressed Scarlet and Esong. "After being attacked you two ca ho and shut yourselves inside forgetting about the fact that you have a little one who might see the news and worry. Your actions resulted in him trying to climb the wall in search of his careless parents that deserve a harsh beating from my whip."
True to his words, the man was smiling even though his eyes were angry.
Scarlet thought of the movie villain, the joker. The joker really had nothing on Etienne Wu.
She wanted to defend herself however because the mistake had not been an intentional one. It was just that; a mistake. Justin was supposed to be at school and in class. What was he even doing at ho at this ti of the day?
"We didn’t an....."
"Hush now dear, I still have to explain where else you went wrong." he told her.
Scarlet pouted and looked at Esong with sad eyes as if she had been wronged greatly.
He squeezed her hand in a comforting manner. Everything was going to be just fine. They could explain themselves after he was done talking.
"Now to go back to the beginning of all this let’s talk about your reaction after the failed tomato attack. You seem to forget who you are dear Scarlet.
You are not just a governor you are also a mber of the royal family. Your imdiate and expected reaction after such an attack is to allow your bodyguards cover you and then be escorted away from the place where danger is. But that is not what you did now, is it?"
"But I...." Scarlet opened her mouth to explain and then she closed it when Etienne raised one eyebrow high up as if he was daring her to speak up.
"As I was saying. You are important, not just because of your position but also because of who you are to all of us. You are family and you cannot imagine how our hearts dropped when we watched sothing unknown being launched at you and then you just stood there.
On top of that, instead of hiding behind your guards you ordered them to stand aside and you stood out in the center, making yourself an open target. Do you know how scared we were?
Yes, you are powerful but did you think about your pregnant mother? She stood up so fast in fear that she almost fell to the ground because she thought you had been shot by the assailant or the drones."
Scarlet bit her bottom lip and looked down at the floor. Making them worry had not been her intention at all. She raised her head and looked at her mother.
Her eyes trailed to ga’s stomach and she prodded around a bit with her powers.
Her mother was healthy, a bit anxious but fine overall. She could not imagine that her montary impulsive reaction had affected so many people in different ways.
What if her mother had fallen down and lost the pregnancy?
