Too dazed to even comprehend the instructor’s words, I rubbed my head and nodded, pretending I understood his words.

Trying to lessen the strain on my mind, I ordered my clone to fall back in place wherever it was before dismissing it.

Pushing myself off the ground, I gazed around the field, seeing countless other students on the ground, covering their faces with their knees.

It seems like I hadn’t been the only student to be eliminated and experience that excruciating pain.

The five purple portals still stood at the front of the plain, signifying that no group had defeated their dungeon boss monster yet.

The results wouldn’t be announced until every dungeon boss had been killed, so there was no point in waiting around.

Thankfully, the physical damage to my clothes and body had disappeared, returning to my state before the practical, but the ntal fatigue and exhaustion were still apparent.

I

...

...

...

Pushing open my dorm door and collapsing on the bed, I gripped my heart, recalling how it felt in the black void, and sighed.

Now that the first Glaive Practical exam was over and the individual ranks were decided, there wasn’t much for to do.

During this ti in the book, Evangel would spend her ti cultivating and completing her mission to rank up to C, so major plot points within the academy would take place.

Of course, Evangel was now in the Imperial class and not Worldly, so there could be so minor changes.

The only major event I believe my actions could have introduced was the selection process for Imperial’s A and B classes.

But both she and I had already secured our spots in Imperial Academy’s A class, so we could sit back and watch the other students fight.

My future seed blander than ever.

The next important event that crossed my mind was the academy midterms, which contained an individual exam alongside an Imperial class A vs. B competition.

I really had nothing to do for the next four weeks but...train and train.

*KNOCK~KNOCK*

Interrupting mid-thought, the sound of soone banging on my door echoed, forcing off my bed.

Unfortunately, there were no peepholes in this world, so I reluctantly opened the door, seeing a familiar figure in front of .

"Rankings are out!"

Scratching my hair, I turned around, allowing the door to start falling shut behind , and answered.

"You got out of bed for that!?"

Placing her foot in front of the door, preventing it from closing, Mira yelled through the gap into my room.

"Ah, makes sense. You’re probably sad, angry, and humiliated that you didn’t even get top 3. Really, everyone had their expectations of you."

"Not only did you win the academy’s mana particle gathering ceremony, but you were one of the two students to earn Professor Snape’s approval."

"But, now, you’re just a fraud!"

Doing a complete 360, I rubbed both my ears, making sure they were functioning correctly, and answered in an urgent tone.

"What the hell are you talking about!?"

Only two words stood out to amongst her rant.

Top 3

How I had not gotten top 3!?

Even with the penalty applied to for eliminating, I had at the very least destroyed three of the crabawler’s tentacles.

At that mont, a sudden thought crossed my mind.

How had, out of the over two hundred worldly students, the ones assigned to been the ones trying to sabotage my exam.

A teacher was involved.

Soone had deliberately made the teams so that the student trying to target had been "randomly" assigned to my group.

Now, that teacher....perhaps, had done it again.

Snapping out of my thoughts, an annoyed voice sounded through the gap in the door.

"Don’t you want to see who beat you? Or. are you just going to mallow in your sadness in that bed?"

Sighing, I shook my head, opening the door fully, and walked behind Mira to the stairs.

Countless voices imdiately bombarded my ears, every single one of the twenty Imperial class students seed to be in the common room, examining their rankings.

Achieving a high rank wasn’t that important.

With my book knowledge, anyway, I could secure tons of rare and precious resources without the help of a guild.

That wasn’t the problem, though.

I had gone through tens of hours of preparation in my dorm, planning out what to do in the practical.

I had trained for countless hours with Daisy, trying to get as strong as possible before the practical exam.

I had gone through an hour of extre pain and agony while fighting the crabawler just to secure a high rank.

I had "died" during the practical just so I could add three extra tentacles to my total individual contribution.

All of that?

For what!?

Descending the winding staircase, I covered my face and followed Mira to the wall opposite the entrance, where a massive piece of paper lay.

A semi-circle shaped crowd had ford around it, preventing from looking, so I reluctantly waited.

At that mont, I felt a sudden pressure on my right shoulder as soone touched it for, perhaps, the hundredth ti since my entrance into Glaive.

Looking back, I found Zeke gazing at with a grin, but through his masked smile, his eyes were dreary and exhausted.

Wrinkles appeared on his forehead, and his cheeks were unnaturally far apart, displaying the artificiality of his happy expression.

Before I could even ask, his sarcastic voice, mixed with a bit of exhaustion, echoed.

"Well, I guess the Wonder Duo wins it again."

Confused, I hesitated for a mont before questioning.

"The ’Wonder Duo’ ? Are you talking about the prince and the princess?"

Vehently shaking his head, Zeke seed to hold back a real chuckle before replying.

"No, god no. These two would be called a duo of violence and envy."

Titling my head, I glanced at Liam, who was sitting on one side of the common room, and Charlotte, who was as far away from Liam’s seat as possible in the room.
