I couldn’t get the thought of the Blood Moon pack claiming as their bride out of my head. ’What did they an by that? Why would they say so? And they even brought an army of rogues.’
My hands tightened around Damon’s wolf as we blurred through the woods.
Damon’s claim on had ward my heart. I understand if Damon wouldn’t let go... afterall I have the shape of his pocket on my shoulder. However the blood moon pack is different.
My mind trailed to Alaric, and his wolf Midnight. I hope they are both fine. He had gotten hurt because of ... and the thought that he could have just a few minutes back sent shivers down my spine.
Damon lowered himself down as we reached the castle. My warm breath fanned against his fur, I groaned as pain shot through my back. I could not climb down from his back.
Damon, sensing my difficulty, quickly transford to human form. I crashed on his well toned body, he turned around, then he gently carried in his arms.
"Father." Theo ran towards us, as Damon carried inside the castle.
"What is it?" Damon asked, without slowing down.
"The elders are requesting your presence now." He said, pushing back his glasses.
"Tell them I’m busy. You can represent ." He answered curtly before turning around the corner.
"Yes. Father." Theo turned around heading towards the eting room.
Damon held close, my face pressing down against his chest. "You’ll be alright very soon." He muttered.
He pushed the door to his room open, then he lay down on the couch.
My eye fluttered as he hovered above , then the sound of claws protruding out of his nails filled the air.
"What are you doing?" I weakly asked, as the sight of his claws. His shadows scratched along the walls.
’Why does this feel like a mont in a horror movie?’
Suddenly, he raised his claws and cut his other hand open, then he brought his wounded hand to my mouth. "Drink Ember."
’Eww. I don’t drink blood.’
But before I could say anything, he had shoved his hand inside my mouth. My eyes widened, I tried to push his hand away but he held down. "You need to heal so I can go check on Alaric."
As he ntioned Alaric, my body relaxed. ’Fine, I’ll drink because of him. At this point I might beco a vampire.’
After I had drank his blood, the pain on my body began to fade away. My eyelids turned heavy. "Sleep now." he whispered in my ears.
....
When my eyes fluttered open again, it was already dawn. It was cloudy with the rain rumbling outside. The fresh cold from the rain made shiver slightly as the window was slightly ajarred.
I stretched my arms, yawning as I climbed down from the bed. ’When did he lay on the bed?’
"I wonder how Alaric is doing right now? Maybe I can pay him a visit."
With that thought I quickly went to the bathroom to wash up. After I was done, I made my way out of the room.
I walked out of the castle, I wasn’t really sure about where the infirmary was located. I stopped one of the servants.
"Do you know where the infirmary is located?"
She pointed at the north. "It is right behind the training camp."
I muttered a thank you to her before making my way there. After getting lost several tis, I was finally able to find it.
I stood in front of a large white building. It was just a single-storey building... nothing too extravagant. I took a deep breath before I stepped inside.
Getting inside, I made my way to one of the healers. "Excuse , do you know where Beta Alaric is?" she pointed to the left corridor.
"Thank you."
I made my way down to the left side of the building. I scratched the back of my head, as I forgot to ask which room number it was. But as if fate was on my side, I saw a glimpse of Theo through the door that was slightly opened.
I knocked on the door, before poking my head inside. I know I was rude to do that, But Theo was there. That guy can be annoying for no good reason, I wasn’t going to take any chances with him.
Theo turned towards , his blue eyes shining through his glasses. "Is Beta Alaric here?"
The curtain surrounding the bed shifted to the side. And Alaric waved at , his leg hanging in the air.
"Alaric!" I dropped the title of his na, rushing inside the room. "You are alive." I smiled at him.
His skin was a little pale, but those smiles in his eyes were still there. "Were you aning for to die? Too bad I don’t die easily." He said holding his chest with a pain expression.
"How could I wish for you to die? Don’t you see that we made a good team like Hansel and Gretel?" I sat beside his bed.
"And who might those be?" He asked with an arched brow.
I slapped my mouth. "Hmmm. Never mind. What I was just trying to say is that we make a very good team."
"Anyway... I must thank you for coming back for . I never knew you were that brave to abandon your chance of being safe for ." his eyes shone with gratefulness.
"You don’t need to thank , Alaric. You and Midnight sacrificed your life to save , even when you were surrounded by many rogues and a Beta. I owe you that gratitude... for protecting ."
"You don’t have to thank , I was doing my job." he gave a warm smile.
"Are you both going to pretend that I’m not here? Or have I turned invisible?" Theo looked at us with annoyance. He angrily pushed his glass back.
"Don’t think it to heart we are just having our mont, must you ruin it?" I glared at him.
Before he could answer another voice bood through the room like thunder. "A wonderful mont indeed."
