I spent half of the morning with the principal because he begged to do that. I never intended to leave Ray alone at the dorm, but getting out of the principal’s room was nothing but extra work to . I had to find an excuse before he allowed to leave. But not before reminding of our evening walk.
If only I can find a way to escape eting him, I will. Though I will miss eating his bacon, I won’t miss him – not at all. He’s a thorn in my flesh. I won’t think twice if I’m given a way out.
"Strawberry!"
I heard my na the mont I stepped into the Ogas’ dorm. It was as if he were waiting for . I ignored his calls and pretended as if I didn’t see him. He can go to hell for all I care. I’m not that damned female oga!
"Strawberry?" he blocked my path.
I didn’t say a word as I tried to sidestep him, but he was having none of that. He placed his hands on my shoulders and stopped from taking a step further.
His hands locked in place, making it difficult for to continue on my walk.
"Let go." I gritted my teeth as I tried to remove his hands from my body. I didn’t look up at him. I keep my gaze on his hands.
"What’s wrong, Strawberry?" he asked in a gentle tone, pissing off when I recalled how he used the sa tone on that female Oga. It infuriated to think he was attempting to coax like he did to her.
"You are. Now, will you let go?" I asked without looking into his eyes.
He removed his hands from my shoulders only to place them on my cheeks as he forced to look at him. I closed my eyes and clenched my teeth hard.
"What’s wrong? Why aren’t you looking at ?" he sounded pained. The tone he used made wish to look at him, but the thoughts of how kind he was with the Oga, infuriated .
"Okay, what’s it?" he sighed, "when you left, I thought you were coming back, but you didn’t. I had one of the cooks wrap your breakfast, and I brought it to our dorm but you weren’t there. I had to give it to your roommate. I would have sought for you, but I don’t know where you went, so I stayed here to wait for you."
I slowly opened my eyes. Blue, worried ones peered into my eyes. He looked concerned and, at the sa ti, guilty.
"Why were you concerned about ?" I peered into his eyes.
"Why won’t I be?" he gently caressed my cheeks with his thumb.
"What of that female Oga? Aren’t you concerned about her?" I furrowed my brow at him. "Won’t she miss your presence?" I dramatically gasped, "Who will feed her in your absence? Don’t tell you left her alone and unattended. She might bite off her hands or, worst still, spill so food." I know I sounded like a jealous girlfriend, but I don’t care.
He smiled at as his eyes cringed at the sides. He looked pleased, and that made raise a brow as I tried to understand why he was smiling.
"You are jealous." He bit his bottom lip.
"Jealous?" I scoffed. "Why will I be jealous?" I tried not to look into his eyes because I knew he will see right through . He will know how much I’m boiling inside just from the thoughts of having him touch that female Oga.
I know I don’t like him or anything like that. It’s just that I want to be the only one he looks at —crazy, right?
He smiled, "you don’t have to be jealous of Mara."
I scoffed the mont he ntioned her na. Mara, it is. Sounds like the na of an old Granny.
"What does that have to do with ?" I tried to get him to let go of , but he held on tight, with his hands on either side of my face.
"It has everything to do with you. It is unclear to why you left, but if it was because of Mara, then, I’m sorry. I was just...." He trailed off with a sigh. "I’m sorry."
"For what?"
I stared hard at him as I tried to understand what the hell was wrong with him.
"For everything." He leaned down and placed his head on my forehand.
My breath hitched in my throat. For a mont there, I thought he was about to kiss . But nothing like that happened. He breathed on my face before he released .
The subtle sll of orange in the air was unmistakable. It slled sweeter than before, and that made him wonder why his scent changed.
"Storm, your scent —"
He gasped as he took two steps away from . His eyes darted around the thankfully empty hall —it would have been embarrassing had any students seen in his embrace — before he swallowed.
"See you later, Strawberry." He turned and hurried towards the door without looking back.
I stood there with my brow furrowed as I wondered what exactly was wrong with him. However, I didn’t dwell much on that because the stupid Fan made an appearance.
He chuckled, "If it isn’t the lovestruck jealous, Brys." He giggled, gliding in the air like a fairy.
"Having much fun, are we?" I narrowed my eyes at him, with my arms folded, and my face scrunched up.
"Why won’t I? It’s fun to watch you falling for the sa Alpha you vowed to eliminate." He giggled, "I don’t doubt you will let him fu—"
"Shut that trap!" I clenched my teeth. "I still hate him! I’m not like that stupid Brys that let him do what he pleases with him. Watch and see, I will have the last laugh!"
I turned and stord towards my dorm with Fan giggling like a fool.
