Jin jumped out of his seat upon hearing her words. "What? A man was born with powers in this world?"
He couldn’t believe what he was hearing. This was the finding of the century. Then again, he felt sorry for the guy. Being the only male with powers ant that he would be subjected to experints and confined to a place where he wouldn’t be able to escape.
"Yup. My experints worked. It was an amazing accomplishnt. However, I only learned of it after I was locked up."
Jin understood what she ant. "The woman had a child after the experints."
"Correct."
But then there was sothing he didn’t understand. "But most of the won from that project were killed either by your experints or by assassination. If I’m not mistaken, none of them had any children. Or at least they didn’t have children after the experints."
Ally smiled. "Then how do you exist?"
"What do you—" Realization struck Jin like a truck. The only child, no, the only male child born to a woman who underwent the experint was him.
This ant that Jin was the first ever male in the world to be born with powers. It was a heavy thing to understand. He would have never expected his life to be so complex, especially after living in complexity for millions of years.
"I-I was born with powers? I have powers?" Jin asked, looking at his hands.
"No, you HAD powers. It’s gone now." Ally clarified
"What do you an?" Powers just didn’t go away like that. Unless his DNA wiltered or sothing.
"Well, it was when your parents were killed. You activated your powers. You see, Jin, you were killed as well. In fact, I’m sure you know this already, but your mother was targeted, and she wasn’t the only target; you were as well."
"What? Why?"
"Well, the council, okay, not the Council, but Carly, who knew about everything, didn’t want a man to have powers, so she ordered the hit to kill every woman that survived the experint. If the woman had female children, then they were okay to keep alive. But if they had male children, they were to be eliminated."
Jin’s face started to twitch with rage. Not only was his mother a target, but he was as well. And his father, his poor father, was collateral damage. This angered him even more.
"You were supposed to die, but when you were struck, your powers activated, healing your body and keeping you alive. After that, your grandmother found you. She took you to the hospital and had you checked up. That’s where she learned you had abilities."
His eyes widened. "Grandma knows?"
"Of course she knows. In fact, she’s the one who built the first-ever DNA slicer that can take powers away, with my help, of course."
"What?! S-She took my powers away?!"
"Yup. It was for your own good. You see, Eden’s Garden was going to co after you, and your grandmother was going to go after them once she realized who was behind everything. So, one fateful day, she dropped you off at Anyssa’s place so you wouldn’t be caught in her battle."
Jin never knew any of this. It felt nice to know that his grandmother still loved him this entire ti and only wanted the best for him. Still, he couldn’t forget about the tis he sent letters, birthday wishes, presents, and more over to her, never to get a response.
One day stood out to him in particular. It was his birthday when he was 12. He had already had his past life mories, but family was always a soft spot for him. He simply wanted to spend his birthday with his grandmother, but she disregarded him completely.
While her actions may have been sowhat justified, that didn’t make up for the hurt he felt, so he still didn’t forgive her. But he wouldn’t be so harsh to her anymore.
"So, after my powers were removed, the DNA slicer beca the new thod to give n powers?" Jin asked
"Dunno. I was out of the loop after that point. I just get second-hand news now."
"Mrs Horton was on the council during this ti, alongside my grandmother. What was her reaction to everything?"
"They were both against it. Lacena killed every single person involved in that project. Only Carly and I were left alive. Jerrica also wanted to take matters into her hands, but Lacena told her to stay out of it so she could keep her seat on the council."
"Oh shit. That’s why Mrs Horton isn’t on the council anymore? I just thought she retired."
"She was planning on it already. This was simply her putting in her two-week notice, hahaha!"
"What about Sherry Lockman? She was a part of this experint as well, right? Why wasn’t she killed?"
"Oh, that’s easy. First, she was Carly’s protégée. Second, she’s a mber of Eden’s Garden. I’ve managed to look at your mission reports. Tell , why do you think that every mission you went on had you co into contact with the Sons of Adam?"
"Mother fucker." Jin never noticed that.
"Yup, so, you better watch out for her."
"Oh, I killed her."
"You what?!"
"Yeah. She pissed off so much that I ended up killing her. Well, I guess it worked out. Haha! I feel so much better now. Well, I never felt bad, but now I feel even better than I felt before, and I felt goooood before."
"Well, does this answer all your questions?" Ally asked
"Yeah, it does. I’m happy I visited you first. Now my visit to Carly will be more productive." His eyes glowed red, but he stopped himself from losing control.
"Are you going to kill her?"
"Yes." Jin didn’t hesitate. She was the person who caused his family to break apart; no way he was keeping her alive.
"Sweet! I’m rooting for you."
"Aren’t you two friends?"
"Do you see where I am? I’m in fucking prison. That bitch is only on house arrest. Yeah, kill her ass. Make sure you tell her that I told her ’like a bitch!’ Haha, she’ll understand it."
Jin shrugged. "Okay." He was about to walk out of the room when Ally stopped him one last ti.
"Oh, wait, Jin. I just rembered. The woman who funded my projects wanted to tell you sothing in case we t."
"What is it?"
"She wanted to say ’Viron.’ No idea what that ans, but I’m sure you do. Anyway, have fun. I’m going back to reading my books."
