Chapter 34: Ivan’s squad Vs orc village
"Ivan, hurry!" Lena called out, already feeling the burden of the chaos they had created.
While she could still keep using her vine for a while longer, she doubted if Aaron would be able to last that long.
"On it!"
Shnk!!!
Ivan replied before piercing the face of an orc that was stuck between two walls and was yet to break free. This was actually the third villager orc he had killed during the ti that the orc turned their attention to Aaron and Lena.
Ignoring the rest that were charging at him, Ivan stepped on a wall and launched himself towards the closest warrior orc.
The force of his jump destroyed the wall but he was already shooting through the air.
Since it had already co to this, he couldn’t ignore any of the threats anymore.
Since he couldn’t reach the orc wizard yet, he would kill this warrior orc first!
Ivan landed on the ground, twisting his body to avoid an arrow before clashing with the orc in front of him.
Bang!
Axe and sword t, sending out a small shockwave. Ivan imdiately realised he had lost to the orc in terms of physical strength.
Slightly tilting his sword to the side, he t the blade of the axe, which slid off before pushing it back. He was about to slash out when he suddenly noticed sothing flying toward him.
Ivan looked and saw that it was an orc, a villager orc to be precise.
He didn’t hesitate to change the direction of his attack and slash at the orc.
"Kuh!" A pained scream sounded from the mouth of the orc as Ivan cut its back open.
Right after doing that, a wall suddenly popped up behind him and the next mont.
Bang!
Sothing crashed against the wall. It was another orc that had attacked Ivan from behind, thankfully Aaron had blocked it for him.
Ivan imdiately turned and kicked the orc in the face, sending it flying backwards.
After doing this, he took a mont to look at Aaron’s and Lena’s situation.
Apparently, Lena was the one who tossed that orc towards him earlier.
It had managed to bypass her vine and was coming for Aaron. Since she couldn’t really hurt them, she wrapped the Orc’s leg with her vine and tossed it in Ivan’s direction.
Currently, the other orcs were being tossed into one another by Lena, greatly slowing them down while Aaron used earth walls to block incoming arrows.
Quickly turning his attention to the warrior orc in front of him, Ivan grabbed his sword and charged forward.
Including the orc that Lena tossed at him, they had killed a total of 6 orcs. Now there were only seven left. The three warrior orcs, the wizard orc, and two villager orcs.
Ivan felt that the situation wasn’t as bad as he thought.
He was about to attack the warrior orc in front of him again when he suddenly noticed the mana in the air changing. His eyes flashed with a startled glint and he turned to look at a particular orc.
It was the wizard orc! The creature currently had both hands pointed in Lena’s direction and mana was accumulating around it.
It was going to cast a spell!
’No!’ Ivan scread internally. He jumped over the axe attack that was sent at him and used the body of the warrior orc to shoot himself toward the wizard orc.
Judging by the amount of mana that the orc was accumulating, it was intending to take Lena and Aaron out in one strike. Heck, even the orcs around the two of them won’t survive a spell of that degree!
Ti seed to have slowed down as Ivan watched a huge red energy ball form in front of the orc, he was too late.
"I won’t let you!" Ivan scread uncontrollably as a shield suddenly appeared on his other hand. He realised he won’t be able to reach the wizard orc on ti, in that case.
"Ha!" Ivan shouted as he threw the grade two shields at Lena and Aaron with all his strength.
At the sa ti, the red energy ball flew out.
"Huh?" Lena turned to the side as she suddenly felt uncomfortable. Neither she nor Aaron had noticed that the wizard orc was trying to nuke them.
The next second.
BOOM!
An explosion set off right in front of Lena and Aaron. The explosion was followed by a violent shockwave that sent everything flying. The ground collapsed and the nearby orcs were directly blasted into pieces.
"No!"
"Aaron!"
Up in the tree, Juliet and Lucas scread simultaneously with horrified eyes after seeing this scene. There was no way those two would have survived that explosion when the orcs with tougher bodies were instantly reduced to pieces of flesh.
In the distance, Mrs Avalor watched with a serious expression. She didn’t make a move, she was holding herself back because doing so would an that Ivan’s squad had finished their assessnt and would have to leave.
"It definitely arrived on ti," she mumbled to herself as her eyes wandered the place.
Shortly afterwards, she saw what she was looking for and a small smile ford on her face.
"In the end, you still can’t run away from protecting others." She sighed in relief.
Back in the village. The strong shockwave had sent Ivan and the remaining orcs flying as well.
Luckily, he was farther away so he didn’t take real damage but his body still ached a bit after slamming into the ground repeatedly.
Jumping up to his feet, Ivan ignored the orcs that were still alive and frantically looked around. He wasn’t worried that the wizard orc would attack again.
That spell just now was too powerful for a normal orc wizard to casually deal out, it was definitely out of mana. After looking for a bit, Ivan finally saw what he was looking for and a look of relief appeared on his face.
Several ters from where the spell had exploded. Aaron and Lena lay on the ground, beside them was a massive shield with a very flat surface.
It was the shield that Ivan had thrown out earlier!
After confirming that they were still alive, Ivan turned his attention to the remaining orc.
That spell had killed the remaining villager orcs and one warrior orc.
Now, just two warrior orcs and the wizard orc were left. And from his current position, the wizard orc was close to him.
Ivan’s eyes flashed with killing intent.
Swoosh!!
His body moved at his fastest speed, and he arrived in front of the orc like a ghost.
"Trying to harm my teammates?" Ivan voiced out in an icy voice. "You should have aid at
instead,"
"K-kryu—"
The orc was clearly horrified by this human’s expression and tried to speak.
But Ivan didn’t give it the chance to finish its words before driving his sword into its lower jaw and through its skull, killing it instantly.
Ivan didn’t have the ti to feel relieved after killing the orc as he suddenly felt a shadow behind him. His eyes widened slightly and he instantly turned around while summoning another shield.
The shield he had tossed out earlier was the grade 2 shield his parents had gifted him. This one was from his Paladin-class and was created with his mana.
Ivan made the shield as large as his body while turning around and stepping away at the sa ti.
However...
Bang!!
Shatter!
He had barely taken a step when a large wooden club slamd into the shield. The level of this shield wasn’t very good, it held for only a second before shattering like glass.
Thankfully, it managed to slow down the club for a mont so Ivan didn’t take too much damage.
The club slamd into his body and sent him flying a few ters before crashing into the ground.
Pain!
Ivan’s head felt dizzy as a wave of pain assaulted him. He believed he had fractured his arm but it wasn’t completely broken yet.
Ivan gritted his teeth and jumped to his feet, ignoring the pain that was attacking his nerves. His face was calm as he stared at the orc warrior in front of him.
"Looks like you’re eager to join your friends, let
help you with that," Ivan said, a small grin forming on his lips.
"Kruah!!!" The orc shouted. Just before they jumped at each other.
But just before they could et.
Bam!
Sothing slamd into the side of the creature’s head, forcefully throwing its body to the side. Ivan looked and saw a small hole that didn’t go all the way through, it was a musket shot!
Leaving that matter for later, Ivan took the opportunity to swing his sword, cutting open the Orc’s throat.
Blood gushed out and painted Ivan’s face as the orc dropped to the ground.
After killing the orc, Ivan looked in the direction from which the shot had co and gave a thumbs-up. Juliet must have desperately fired that shot with whatever little mana she managed to gather, which was why she wasn’t able to kill the orc.
However, Ivan didn’t have ti to rest and the last warrior orc appeared in front of him with its axe raised high.
’Damn, I’m too tired to move. Seems like Mrs Avalor will have to make a move after all.’ Ivan thought with a hopeless smile.
Just then...
Rumble!
A huge earth spike suddenly burst out from the ground and pierced in between the Orc’s legs, splitting it in two.
It was quite a refreshing sight.
