Chapter 283: The Boss Monster
A dungeon and a labyrinth differed in excess. A dungeon could be seen as a tutorial for a labyrinth but not many knew this since labyrinth are not easily found, even if one do co by one, their gateway was another thing to deal with. Monsters within the labyrinth are confined within a particular ecosystem that the monster themselves have built, they evolved amidst themselves with no external factor they’ve learnt and over ti they’ve caused themselves to evolve and adapt.
This was just the least of what they were capable of. Rein stared in disbelief as the black wolf waved his basic sword swing and jumped to the back.
’It’s as if he is carefully observing
and looking for openings’ Rein said.
The wolf dashed at him Rein’s sword ca at it like a cot about to the wolf was about to dodge again but Rein using his forr action as a blockade closed in faster then the wolf could jump away and grabbed its forelimb throwing it the other way and therefore, smashing it into the wall. He dashed into the area and stabbed his sword into the wolf before it could stand.

Rein exhaled, "This will be a whole new experience" he said and proceeded forth, while the rest of them watched him.
He continued to hunt the black wolves which were very troubleso because of their overly cautious attitude. They dragged battle and it irritated Rein, even when they were in packs, their teamwork marvelled Rein so much, knowing when to use each other as bait, knowing when to dodge or sacrifice for a strike. Though Rein still killed all, he couldn’t avoid a few minor injuries that healed imdiately but his clothes was torn by the claws of wolves.
"These wolves make
wonder if Aurora and her pack are actually from a labyrinth..." Rein said, "The way they accepted
imdiately after I defeated their alpha..."
"Hmm, Lady Aurora seems quite astonishing I’d say, there’s more to her that ets the eye...but you might be correct afterall, she might be from a labyrinth" Samael responded.
"Hmm...I should ask her later"
"Even if you do, I doubt she will have an answer to that" Samael said.
"Why not?" Rein asked, turning his back as he was ahead of them.
"The labyrinth serves as a protective shell, it protects the monsters from the world and the world from the monsters. If a monster however leaves the labyrinth, it’s mories before leaving are erased, all that it has learnt, seen, known, everything is erased except habits of course...as that is beyond the labyrinth’s control...so a monster that steps outside the labyrinth is more like a new born monster...they die quick before they even make it far" Samael answered.
"I see, you seem to know a lot about labyrinth" Rein said to him.
"I know alot about many things my lord" he responded back.
Reinard suddenly stopped.
The others also seed like they knew why.
"Seems like you will have a lot to deal with on your own Father" Azes said with a smirk as multiple eyes glared at them from all around.
"I suspect they’re lair is near" Samael said.
"Well, it’s a good thing...I needed the aggro afterall...been awhile"

"Wow, they all died...the power of a deity is no joke afterall" Rein said.
"I really think it’s a cheat to do that my lord..." Samael said and continued, "if you would fight and get stronger as other humans do, you should do that they way they do it. Fight the way they fight, gain experience from each fight and grow in that regard. If you continue to use your dragon authorities...it’s more or less as abusing your power..."
"Hmm... you are right, but aren’t they my powers I can use them the way I want"
"I know I’m in no place to say this, but from the experience of once being an angel and an administrator in the abyss, sotis when we are gain privileges and power and are made to be pinnacles, even though the power is ours, everything we do ask for accountability of how such power is used, you don’t owe it to them doesn’t an you won’t pay it, I believe believe deities must have understood this which is why they decided not to ddle with human affairs. What I’m saying is, once we are placed in pinnacles, everything we do serves those beneath us, even though we are the masters one still serves regardless, I belief that to be the true strength of a master, your power even though is yours, exist to serve all dragons and everything beneath it, please refrain from using it for selfish reasons" Samael completed with a bow.
’As much as his words are words of a wise man, why do I feel like that last part is intentional’ Rein smiled, "Thank you I understand...but I can use nirvana right since its not deity power..."
Samael continued to stare.
"I guess that one too is a no...fine, I’ll fight the human way alright" he said swinging his sword and going forward.
After walking a few miles past the dead wolves he stopped at a large cave entryway. It was dark inside, the whole labyrinth was sort of dark, except that the glow of crystals and minerals brightened the atmosphere, but this cave was pitch black. Rein knew it at that mont.
"Boss room, huh..." he said to himself.
"I’m so excited now that Father will be fighting without using his powers, father I hope you don’t struggle" Azes said giggling.
"I’m marvelled at how you can confidently say father while saying that, perhaps I am not really your father"
Azes face turned teary at once, his cuteness charm unveiled itself at that mont.
"How can you say that father...how can you say you are not my father" he sobbingly and softly said, with gaps as he gasps in between his sentence.
"He’s not really crying is he?" Reinard said.
"You are a bad father, Lord Erindell wasn’t like that to you"
"Awh, co on Alia, you can’t compare Azes to , I’m natured, Azes is a cunning dragon..."
Azes cry rose higher and began to resonate throughout the cave they were in.
Reinard quickly run and covered his mouth.
"Hey are you going to blow my cover before I even start"
"Barpp, bapper, bapp-" Azes struggled to speak clearly as Rein was holding his mouth.
"Okay, I’m sorry, okay? I’m your father and will always be your father" Rein said and exhaled.
Azes facial expression imdiately brightened up as though he wasn’t the one crying a second ago. Rein stood up,
"I can’t believe dragons cry" he said as he dusted his knee.
Theo smiled, "...not really but since we can mimick almost everything humans do, we can eat but don’t necessarily need to...but that doesn’t an we don’t get the nutrient too, we can mimick crying and over the years, I’ve seen us pour our heart into those tears... so mas–" Theo looked up but so no one, Samael’s head ca out of the cave.
"Everyone left at that part you said over the years, as much as I’d love to hear you dragon’s evolution story, I can’t miss Lord Rein’s fight with the boss monster." He said, his head went back into the cave.
Theo’s face lit up, "Don’t worry master, I’ll tell you stories of us when you are done fighting" His eyes were brimming with excitent and determination as he also went into the cave.
As he entered it was like another realm entirely revealing itself, from the outside it was dark, but on the inside it was glimring with bright colours that were illuminated from crystals that grew on the ceiling , in the corner of pillars. The ceiling of the room were very high and the architectural design was beautifully, the highness of the room made the multiple pillars around very tall.
"We were like that too when we entered" Samael said to Theo who couldn’t stop being surprise.
"Is it another dinsion?" Theo said.
"No its not, I would have felt it if it was...but this is still within the labyrinth" Samael responded.
"...Labyrintha really are interesting..." Theo said.
Rein stopped as he could hear the loud breathing of the boss monster.
~fuuuuuuu~
~fuuuuuuuuuu~ The large wolf, a mixture of red and black on it’s fur, large saber-fangs, and with its two tail wrapped around itself, it laid there sound asleep. Rein tightened his hands on his sword and gulped.
’It’s not even awake, yet this trendous energy...this is what I will be fighting without my powers?...’
