(From Blue's Perspective)

For the next couple of days, nothing happened. Cyan showed up every now and then to play with Sapphire, who liked to play with Cyan. I was consoled that Sapphire still preferred more than him. Or, I would have been hurt.

As if to prove that life always had sothing unexpected waiting if everything went normal for a few days, sothing did happen.

As always, I was reading a novel, sitting on the bed, and wrapping myself in my blanket. Dem did not go to the palace today since he said he did not need to and was in his office in the mansion. He did all the work there. It had been three hours since I had been reading the novel right after waking up and having breakfast.

I had not seen his face even once this morning. I felt like seeing him once. But I did not feel like walking. Since it was a small distance, teleporting there would not be bad for .

I was just wearing a nightgown which was the most comfortable one I owned. I did not bother to change as it was just my husband.

I did so right away, putting the book away. But just as surprised as I was to be in his office, the man who was there along with Dem was just as surprised, if not more.

I stared at the man. It did not take more than one look to know who he was. I did not know his na, but I knew what he looked like. A huge man with one eye was exactly as I had seen the picture that Alice described and a painter drew. He was the very man I was looking for.

He was staring at as well, but he had fixed his composure in no ti and looked less discomposed than . I took a deep breath and turned to my husband, who had his eyes on as well. It was clear he was shocked more than any of us and was out of things to say, as he knew I could understand everything.

"It is an honor to et you," the man said, "Your Highness."

I did not say anything and did not even acknowledge his greeting as I left the room. Dem did not even try to stop , which I expected.

I t Ruby on the way as I was off to my bedroom again. She took a look at my face and imdiately looked concerned. But she did not ask what happened.

"I was just going to see Your Highness," she said. "I thought we could chat and have so refreshnts." Read exclusive chapters at empire

"… I am not feeling well," I said. "I'm sorry."

"It's alright. Maybe, I can join you," she said. It was clear she did not want to leave alone, seeing my condition. I perhaps looked too unwell.

"Alright…," I said. "I want to go to my bedroom."

"Sure. I will join you," she said.

We went to my bedroom and as I sat down on the couch, she put a blanket around . I was a little cold too.

She handed a glass of water. I could not be grateful enough for her kind consideration. She had always been like that.

Then, she finally asked what had transpired.

"Has His Highness fought with Your Highness?" she asked. She always got angry at Dem whenever she heard him fighting with , as she knew most of his reasons were unreasonable.

"No…," I chuckled, shaking my head as tears started to fall from my eyes. "No, we did not fight. We surely did not. I wish we had rather fought."

She watched in silence and the next mont, she hugged . "Who hurt Your Highness?" she asked.

I did not say anything. Dem truly lied a lot. What was the point? If he had told the truth, I would not have felt so bad, I would not have felt betrayed. I suspected it beforehand, but I never thought it would hurt as much as it did. Indeed, Dem and I probably did not have quite a healthy relationship.

Everyone who saw us just from the outside knew nothing of it and though we were the best couple ever. We surely were crazy in love, but our love was a little twisted and we surely did not have the traits a healthy couple would have.

I did not tell Ruby about it because the very first person I needed to talk this about was none other than the person who lied to about it and always said he knew nothing or got angry whenever I ntioned the matter.

I had suspected it for a long ti and was kind of sure that it was him who was behind it all. But I did not have proof and thus, carried on with my belief that was controversial even to myself.

The door opened and Dem entered rather hastily. "Ruby, can you…?" I mumbled.

"Of course," she nodded. "Just make sure to call in case you need ."

"Sure…"

Ruby went out of the room, leaving us alone which was exactly what I wanted, and probably him as well.

"Well? You might as well start making an excuse," I said. "I will listen, my love. I will listen to all you have to say in your defense."

"… You know what am I," he said in a low tone.

"Oh, I do know what you are, what kind of person you are! A manipulator? Yes. An unforgiving ruler? Yes. A great fighter?

Yes. A murderer? Yes. A liar? I wish you weren't."

"Even to …," I added. "I always wished you would not lie to , at least to … We all have to lie, as we are no ordinary people and in no position to live our life completely honestly. But is it really too hard to be honest to , to your own wife who you say you love more than anything else?"
