"You can open your eyes now," Killian said as soon as he landed on the balcony of their room a mont ago but Alia still clung to him. He quite liked it and contemplated staying with her like this until she realized it. "Any ti I want you to cling to I should just fly you around."
"Why didn’t I suggest the carriage? Why would I make you fly?" Alia asked, shakingly getting out of Killian’s arms. The mont his feet left the ground she closed her eyes and held onto his shirt as much as she could. The fear of falling was not sothing she could escape. "I am not doing this again."
"You resemble a cat after being tossed in the water," Killian said as he watched her walk.
"A cat tossed in water? I am not even going to assu it was anyone but you who has tossed a cat in water for your own enjoynt."
"It was not . I simply watched it happen," Killian replied, recalling the trembling creature.
Alia opened the balcony doors to go inside their bedroom but did not make it too far inside as the appearance of the room stunned her. "What is going on here?" She inquired.
Their room was now filled with candles and flowers on the floor. Piles of alcohol, fruits, and at were on the tiny table.
"It seems soone got ahead of themself," Killian said, just as surprised as Alia. He knew the room would be given a romantic touch but not to this extent.
"The at is still warm. How did they ti our arrival with the food being warm? It isn’t ti for us to return yet? Did you intend on returning this ti?" Alia asked, suspicious of Killian. It was too much of a coincidence for the food to be here hours before their return unless the servants thought they would enjoy cold food.
"I planned to leave whenever you were ready. This extravagant display wasn’t done by nor did I have ti for when it would be done. Wait," Killian picked up a note and read it. "Of course. Only one person could have such timing. The queen of the underworld left us a gift. The woman does enjoy romance."
Alia almost choked up from hearing the queen of the underworld was once in this room. A human just like her but married the devil and beca a demon. She would have liked to et this spectacular woman and see what it was like to change into a demon. "Is she and the devil ever going to visit us? I would love to et with her," Alia said.
"We don’t need to offer an invitation. The two of them will be seeing us soon seeing as the queen prepared this. Wash up and eat what you want," Killian said, taking a seat by the table and picking a bottle of wine to drink.
Alia couldn’t believe he was serious about them not being intimate tonight. "You know, marriages are said to not be official if we do not have sex."
"That is sothing said by horny n looking to have sex right away. I can tell you are not lusting after . You just want children. Need I remind you how annoying those little things are? We can enjoy our married life a bit without a little creature crying in our ears. Truthfully, I plan to hand the children off to Alastor when they beco noisy," Killian seriously spoke.
"He’s going to kill you one of these days," Alia replied, quite certain of it. She couldn’t help expecting it. "I don’t think I will stop him. Not that I would be able to. You should do sothing to let him know how much you appreciate him."
"Alastor knows that I care for him. He wouldn’t have stayed by my side for hundreds of years if he felt like he was just being used. What?" Killian asked because of her horrid expression.
"I forgot I married an old man. It has always been one of my fears and now it is real. I need to have a drink," Alia said, going straight for the biggest bottle of wine.
Killian snatched the wine away before she could take it. "This ca from the underworld so you will not be able to drink it. Take this one instead," he handed her a smaller bottle.
Alia wanted to taste the slightest drop of what wine made in the underworld was like. "Let pour your wine for you," she offered.
Killian stared at Alia for a few seconds trying to figure out why she was being so kind. "Are you trying to get drunk to have your way with ?" He asked.
"What is wrong with your mind? I am not that desperate to sleep with you and I am not a vile person. Besides, if anyone were to get drunk between the two of us, it would be . I was trying to do sothing nice to make up for how angry you were with Fraser. I am used to my family and the stubbornness of the court so I feel bad you beco angry when you are normally calm," Alia explained, taking the bottle back from him to pour so out into a cup.
"How your cousin has remained alive for this long is a mystery."
"Fraser didn’t always have access to the castle. It was only when my father started panicking about an heir that he took notice of Fraser and invited him to the castle. Before that, my aunt kept Fraser in her ho and spoiled him. That is why he thinks he must always get his way. He was never told no before. He was very annoying as a child and his desire to live in the castle started his jealousy toward when we were young," Alia explained, rembering the exact mont their relationship soured.
"You’d be surprised to know there was a ti I looked forward to seeing Fraser. Long before he wanted the throne I wanted to make mine. Now, it is too late for us to act as cousins. I want to taste," Alia said, bringing Killian’s cup to her lips for a small sip. "It doesn’t seem so strong."
Killian took the cup back before she could be adventurous and drink more. "That is odd but you should not taste anymore just in case."
Minutes passed and Killian sat with one leg lap over the other with a drink in his hand as he watched Alia enjoy herself with wine and food. Her body had relaxed thanks to the help of the wine and she wasn’t so reserved with her actions. He had never seen her sloppy before but it was quite entertaining.
"Can I have a piece of fruit?" He asked, wanting to test what she would do.
To his surprise, Alia picked up a slice of apple and held it out to him.
His eyes widened for a mont before he caught himself and leaned forward to take the apple from her. Maybe he was just a fool but the apple tasted sweeter coming from her hands. "Thank you. You shouldn’t drink anymore. You are drunk."
"I am not. You are," Alia pointed a finger at him. "Gina and I used to have fun drinking rum she would take from the kitchen. It was much stronger than this wine. I am far from being drunk. I am just free. You should try it."
"Hmm. Once you are enjoying yourself."
Killian didn’t have any plans of stopping her from enjoying herself just yet. She wasn’t exactly sloppy as others could be but she was indeed drunk even though she did not want to admit it. It was clear she wasn’t fond of the wedding celebration so she should at least enjoy the ending.
"What do you and Gina do when the two of you get drunk? Did you bother Cyrus with the task of keeping the two of you inside?" Killian asked.
"He had to since it was my father’s rum we were sneaking away. Gina would spend so many nights in my room because we couldn’t let her leave or soone would question where she got the rum from. It was fun honestly. I dance around as I please or sing as loud as I could. I knew she did it when I was not happy and she wanted to cheer up. That is why you must protect her well," Alia said as Gina was more than her maid. She was family.
"Ever thought of sticking her with Alastor?" Killian mused.
"You must not know they hate each other and would end up trying to kill one another. Don’t tell ," Alia side-eyed Killian. "Are you suggesting this because it would annoy Alastor? I am not going to let you use my friend to get entertainnt for yourself. I am now realizing what a bad friend I am because I did not tell her I was leaving. I will say it is your fault."
"So blaming the husband starts now."
