Alia chuckled, not knowing if it was from finding his words to be funny or if she was just drunk. "I’d say it’s my husband helping out. Saying husband is odd too," she sighed.

"Thought you would be marriage free your entire life?" Killian asked.

"Of course not. Such a thing would not be possible as I would need to have a child. The issue was being with soone I could tolerate. Who would have ever thought that person would be a demon? Why aren’t you eating any of the at? Nervous? I heard that people beco so nervous on their wedding days that they are unable to eat," Alia recalled what she heard maids say.

"I am far from being nervous. I am sort of missing calling you, princess. It left my tongue better than the queen or wife. Not that I am trying to discredit your new titles," Killian clarified so she would not be offended.

"It is also odd for too. I don’t mind if you slip up and call princess once in a while. Being queen feels surreal and it will take a mont for to grasp it. I can’t believe I have finally beco queen," Alia said then stopped to take a sip of her wine. "Hopefully, the north and the Blackwells do not go to war tomorrow. I really would not like for you to cover that land in blood. Everyone else is innocent."

"I am aware of that. The only people I plan to kill are those in the castle which was why I traveled straight to your father the last ti. It might be hard to believe but I have grown tired of war. I only fight if it is necessary. I’ve been alive for-"

"Please don’t," Alia held up her hand to stop him from saying his age. "I don’t want to hear the years."

Killian placed his bottle on the table and leaned forward to hold her hand. "Would you like to live forever by my side?" He asked once more.

Alia stared at Killian, trying to place if he was serious again. "Doesn’t that an I would have to beco a demon? At this very mont, I don’t want to change what I am. And how do you know that I won’t lose the side of that intrigues you? I might beco boring and you’ll want another wife. Not that I mind. My life is more fragile and you shouldn’t be alone."

"For soone with a lot of confidence, you underestimate yourself in this situation. I know that I will not lose interest in you. Sothing entertaining happens each day now that you are in the north and there are other ways to make you live forever. Wouldn’t you like to see what shall beco of these two kingdoms? What will beco of the unknown future?"

"I would but I also know I would have to watch people I love die year after year. It doesn’t seem to be a wonderful thing. Have you ever watched people you cared for wither away?" Alia asked, curious about what that was like.

She experienced the death of people she cared for but it was only a handful of people. For as long as Killian was alive, she imagined his numbers were high.

"I have. It is never easy to watch the light in their eyes dim but I have gotten used to it. Before claiming the north as mine, I lived amongst humans for a while when I first left the underworld. I was intrigued by the creatures coming into the underworld. I made many friends who have long left this world but I have seen them again," Killian said.

Alia didn’t understand how he could see them again unless he ant they ended up in the underworld. "How did you see them again?" She asked, completely into the story and forgetting about her drink.

"You must admit you are drunk because I have told you about reincarnations. The mories of their lives before are forgotten but there are rare cases where people rember things from their life before. It is an extraordinary thing to witness. If you do well in the past there is a chance you can be blessed with a better life. The Gods decide that," Killian explained.

"So, there is a chance that if I live forever I might be able to see my mother again. Her new life I an," Alia said, only now interested in his offer. She would give anything to see her mother again even if the past was forgotten. She only wanted to get a glimpse of her mother having a better life and if she wasn’t, Alia would do what she could to fix it.

"It is not guaranteed you will easily find her new life. She could be in other kingdoms far away from where you are now and to find out exactly what happened to her soul is quite pricey even for . You might spend forever searching for soone who might not show up before you. I have watched others do it and slowly lost their minds from not finding the person they desperately want to see," Killian said, warning her of the danger and the fact it wasn’t easy to et her mother.

"I can still try. There is sothing to consider about your offer to live forever. I would like to read her books now but it is unfortunate that my sight seems to be becoming blurry. I am either tired or drunk," Alia said, finally admitting her current state. "I don’t want to rest yet. There is still so much more to enjoy before our wedding day ends."

"You can rest for a mont and I will wake you up for us to continue our talk. You should rest for an hour and then I will wake you," Killian lied. She needed to rest after prepping for such a long day.

"I know you will not wake ," Alia replied, not believing him. "You’ll probably go flying down to the border the mont I shut my eyes. I won’t let you."

"I have no intention of leaving you alone on your wedding day. I am not that cruel. At least to you. I will be here when you fall asleep and when you wake up so don’t fight how tired you are," Killian stated, aning every word. He had nowhere to go but here with Alia.

Alia rested her head on the table but did not close her eyes. She just looked at where Killian sat. "I wonder why I am unable to sleep on my own. I hate when night draws near because I feel uncomfortable. Thankfully, I have your skill to help . I do appreciate you, you know. Sotis I just know how to say it. You are far better than any of the n I envisioned I would get married to."

"These are all good complints but I feel like this is being said because you want sothing from ."

Alia smiled and tapped her head with her finger. "Please send to sleep," she requested.

"Of course," Killian scooted closer to her but as he reached to touch her, Alia grabbed his hand and held it tightly.

Alia closed her eyes and said, "I trust you but I will feel better if I hold on to you to know that you are still here."

"What kind of trust is that?" Killian questioned but he didn’t mind it. "Why are you resting your head here when there is a bed?"

"I feel comfortable right here for so reason," Alia whispered.

"You are a strange little lady but you cannot sleep here. I am going to lift you," he gave her a warning before moving to lift her from the table and take her to the bed. "What about your dress? Isn’t it uncomfortable?"

"No, but see, it is you who is trying to ravish ."

Killian sighed, concluding that she was drunker than she appeared. "I am not trying to ravish you. The room is hot and even with the window open, you will be uncomfortable in your dress. I can leave for a mont for you to-"

"Help take it off-Hey!" Alia exclaid when her body fell onto the bed. "Did you just drop on the bed?" She asked, opening her eyes to look at Killian who seed shocked for so reason.

"Are you in your right mind?" He needed to ask as it was unlike her to want him to undress her. She would always run to the closet to get changed.

"What? Why are you..." Alia trailed off as she knew the answer to her question. "I am. You are my husband and I had already made up my mind to be intimate with you. It would be kind of odd if I can’t ask you to take off my dress when we could have been doing so much more right now and I have on a garnt underneath this dress which will hide most of my body from your eyes. So, are you going to help or will I sleep in this dress?"
