Imdiately, the formation beneath them began to glow. Red colors burst upward like shimring rays and covered them like a do.
What happened next was familiar and so unfamiliar to Vacuse. He felt a sharp jerk from the formation below and his eyes turned into a whirlwind of darkness.
He felt himself leave his body and his spirit hung up there above his body for a while before he was jerked away again.
The darkness that clouded his vision was wiped away by an intense ray of light that pierced through, and he found himself in another world.
"This is still as unnerving as before," he grumbled to himself as he stared at his hand that was translucent.
He looked up. "The first realm."
The Dragon world could be divided into realms, with the Dragon bloodline occupying the different realms. Although it was said that the realms were just how the humans saw the Pathway world.
’... It’s said that our eyes couldn’t comprehend what we see and so it appears like this...’
’...this is also the reason why I am the only one here even though I should be seeing others as well...’
The first realm was a dry land, rocky and troubleso. Brown mountains pierced the sky and the hills were rolling stones. Everywhere that Vacuse could lay his eyes, he saw Dragonkin beasts.
The beasts that have the Bloodline of the Dragons. Although unlike the Dragons themselves, they are known as inferior. Sotis a beast like that could awaken with a mysterious long-lost Bloodline of a Dragon.
But it’s rare. So rare that people only sigh and wish they were that lucky to get one, but they know deep down that they won’t be getting it.
He saw Wyrmling, that are not much bigger than the biggest lizards. And they looked almost like lizards too, except that their legs aren’t flat and their backs are slightly hunched.
They ca in different colors and have different elental powers. All Dragonkin co with different elental powers. The difference in power is what mainly sets them apart, the rank that such Soulbearer could reach.
He ignored them and the Dragonet that are like small Dragons without wings and the size of average dogs.
They are both in the Rank E.
The Dragonkin beast rushed him. Unlike the others, they aren’t picky and want to form a Bound with all Soulbearers. But Vacuse shook his head.
"To the second realm," Vacuse muttered.
And imdiately he said that, he felt his body tug forward. If his Soulbearer cannot handle the second realm, then he won’t be called by it.
In a blur, he was standing in another place.
The first thing he noticed was that there was a slight pressure on him, almost as if sothing was pressing down on him.
The second realm was a grassy land and lush trees. Clear lakes dotted the ground in all directions, but what held his attention was the Beasts, rank D Lindworm.
They are serpentine Dragons with two legs at the front and long beards at their mouth. They floated above the ground with their two clawed hands slightly touching the ground now and then.
Unlike the Dragonet and Wyrmling, the Lindworm are formidable and having one would earn respect and at least a comfortable place in the family.
They are also formidable fighters, especially when the Soulbearer can shift into their combined form.
Unlike the first realm, the beasts here didn’t rush, but they looked at him curiously.
Vacuse looked away. "Third realm."
His incorporeal body shot forward and he disappeared. When he appeared, Vacuse felt his body shudder and he dipped low to the ground. The pressure was getting harder and he could already feel a slight pain on his soul.
"Third realm of the rank C and B."
Unlike the other realms, this new one has the rank B and C beasts, and it’s dominated by Drakes.
It was said that there was another Dragonkin together with the Drake, but they perished a long ti ago and only the most dominant remained.
The Drake.
Also known as Earthbound Dragons.
They are like lesser Dragons with all the features of it, but without the wings and size. And majesty.
And they don’t have the brilliant colors of the Dragons as well. They co in different shades of brown and black.
They are ranked in B or C depending on individual powers.
"Aggressive and territorial."
Vacuse’s eyes narrowed as he stared at the ground.
It was as if a giant had taken a hard, flat surface and then twisted it out of shape. There was no single flat ground.
With a bit of concentration, Vacuse could detect the different Drakes hiding under the ground and their level of power. "I can’t even sense one single rank B. They must be deep in hiding or far from this place."
Vacuse shook his head and gritted his teeth. "Fourth realm!"
At first, nothing happened. He remained where he was, and then, like a reluctant force, he felt a tug and he was dragged away.
It was much slower this ti though, as if his incorporeal body was getting too heavy.
But finally, he was standing there. "The world of Rank A."
The fourth realm was dominated by two beasts.
Salamanders and Wyvern.
Wyvern is the closest to a Dragon and also one of the farthest.
They are like Drakes, only that they have two legs and two wings only. They are also like Dragons, only that they have two wings and two legs only.
But they can fly.
Having a Wyvern would not only earn respect. It would create a firm and strong position in the family. Even Drenvar only has a Wyvern and he’s considered the strongest in the family at the mont.
Salamanders are lizards with insane firepower and durability. They are also the sa size as most Wyverns. They are also rare.
Vacuse looked past their caves. "Fifth realm?"
