And with that, we separated. With his skills, Dusk would fight the giant head-on, using his body as the battleground. This let breathe but also gave us two separate battlefields where we rule.
Taking into account our ruling natures, sharing an arena would only make us get in each other’s way. But now, one dominated the sky while the other attacked from the ground.
I saw how the electricity that had once embraced my body wrapped around his. I couldn’t say I didn’t feel envious, but at the sa ti, I tried not to pay attention to this feeling. If I envied him, it would an envying his beast. It’s an unwritten fact that your jealousy of another beast’s powers ant you considered their powers superior to you.
I drew out one of the daggers and took a deep breath, letting my muscles tense in preparation for what could be my death. But I tried not to think of this, as every ti I did, I could feel a tear on the grasp of escaping my eyes. Yet, ntally, I didn’t feel anything. My theory was that the body was feeling these emotions. Fear, it feared death. But how could a soulless being cry?
Maybe, just maybe, it was the boy from which I took this body that was causing these reactions. It made sense, after all, he was still just a kid. Soone who had a loving family and a stable inco. Soone who could like their life with no worry.
I’m sure he never thought he’d find himself inside The Core. I wonder, what was he thinking right now? Is he able to see? No, if he wasn’t, he wouldn’t have these reactions in the face of danger.
Suddenly, I felt a hushed voice whispering into my ear. I could hardly understand what it was trying to say. I could only decipher so words, so it took so ti to understand what he was trying to tell .
"You dumbass! What are you doing? Fight already!" This voice... it was familiar. I raised my head and saw Dusk on one of the giant shoulders, screaming at . It had been him who was talking to , not the boy. And he was right, I couldn’t wait anymore.
Around my hand and the dagger, the wind’s original direction shifted straight down as a purple fla manifested in the sa place. I was finally able to shape the aura into a force, and now, my skill was stronger than ever before. But maintaining this fire also ant that my energy was depleting faster and faster.
I could already feel sweat forming on my forehead. But that only made even more excited. It had been a while since I last fought an opponent stronger than myself.
With finally able to keep this fla under my fingers, I took a step back and, with my arm arched as back as it could, gained as much velocity as possible. It was ti to test my new toy out.
[You have used skill [Weapon Toss], remaining duration 360 seconds.]
With this, I threw the dagger into the stomach of the giant. While in the air, the dagger kept accelerating even as so of the montum of the throw exhausted. With the purple fla around it, I could keep accelerating it until I fell unconscious. Of course, I wasn’t going to waste myself on one attack, but the point was that I could control them even indirectly.
I felt the impact in my bones whenever the dagger hit the beast. A monstrous scream escaped his mouth, causing my ears to bleed. I breathed rapidly, trying to calm down as my ears were bleeding out. I could hardly even hear sothing.
I looked up to see if Dusk had the sa damage. But the guy was completely fine. Yet he shot a confused gaze after witnessing my attack. He surely wasn’t expecting such damage, and I, too, wasn’t.
I watched how only the hilt of the dagger was still visible, as the rest had penetrated its body, causing blood to gause out like a fountain.
’Hey, look, we’re both bleeding.’ I laughed sarcastically even though It was evident that this beast was on the dumber side and didn’t understand the human language. ’Pathetic.’ I murmured.
With this successful attack, I felt a wave of joy drown with its warmness. Yet, deep down we both knew I wasn’t going to be able to use that again.
I ducked, the arm of the giant flashing before my eyes. With this blow, I had attracted its attention, and so I wouldn’t have had ti to prepare another attack. ’I guess I’ll put quantity over quality for today.’ I drew a dagger for each finger, and in a fraction of a second, I let my flas corrupt the cheap blade.
I then threw them all, aiming wherever I could. I grouped them all, so controlling was easier. And with this pack of flying daggers, I cut through the air like butter.
Whenever I got close to its body, I disbanded the group, trying to cause an attack that would cover the most area. But as I tried aiming them, I got hit to the side, flying a few ters back.
Luckily, this ti my body was prepared for any impact. I spit out any of the blood that had disrespectfully escaped my mouth without permission.
Out of all of the daggers, only three connected. But even those were hardly holding onto the beast.
With the giant running at , I had to think of sothing. I examined its movents and ca out with a plan. But for now, I had to wait for it to get closer. Which wasn’t that easy, as normally a king gets what he wants imdiately.
Makes wonder what Dusk is thinking of at the mont. But as that thought ca to , I saw him diving into the arms of the giant. ’Dusk are you out of your mind!’ I scread out, but it was aningless, as I horrifically watched a human’s death.
But then, I heard the sound of drums, and in the next second, a flying beam of electricity burstred into the body of the giant.
I had forgotten, this guy wasn’t human, neither was he a beast. He was a monster.
