Chapter 125
lisca woke up along with the other girls. It was now Tuesday. The perfect day to visit the Supernatural Room. But that would be later. She planned to take breakfast first and go through a eting with Josh and the HC team. It was the big day.
Carn passed by her bed with a bath towel slung over her shoulder. "lisca, you plan to join us today?"
She stood up and moved to the wardrobe to get her laptop. "No. I have a eting with Josh at 8:00 this morning." She casually replied.
"Then let’s have breakfast together." The redhead invited with excitent in her tone.
She looked up at her. "Sure." It could be their last mont together.
"Great." Carn entered the bathroom, and lisca followed a little bit later.
In the cafeteria, lisca, as always, people glance at her way. There was catcalling, but she ignored it. She was in her favorite outfit. A tank top inside her leather jacket, black leather jeans, and her ankle boots. Her long hair hanging loosely at her back. She would tie that later. She plans to get back to the dorm before going to Josh.
Carn and she were at one of the tables in the far corner. Lorna hasn’t entered the cafeteria yet.
Carn whistled. "You look like you’re on a mission today." She stated, sipping her coffee from a mug.
lisca raised a slice of at by the fork to her mouth. She just eyed the woman across from her.
"Are you sure you don’t need my help?" Carn looked at her above the coffee mug she was holding.
She swallowed the food in her mouth before talking. "Not getting in my way is the biggest help enough." Again, there was that gnawing feeling that this woman had known about her plan of getting the supernaturals out. But she wouldn’t stoke that fire any more. If she was a friend or a foe, she’d rather work alone. She wouldn’t risk her plan for any last-minute change if she got Carn involved. The redhead could be a burden along the way or could be the lure to failure.
Carn nodded. "Okay. I’ll take that for now." She placed her mug down and started on her food.
Lorna ca after just a few minutes. And lisca could see the frown on her face too early in the morning. She didn’t have to ask. Carn’s presence was the reason for it, no doubt. She was by the door when their eyes t. Then she saw who she was with at the table. Her face turned sour in an instant. Lorna turned around with a huff and went to the food counter.
Not more than five minutes later, Lorna was on their way to their table.
"Soone’s too gloomy in the morning." Carn stated, shoving a lettuce dipped with mayo to her mouth.
"Try to be welcoming." She murmured.
Carn’s eyes widen in mock surprise, and she gasps. "As if you’re the warst host at the table." She countered.
Lorna put the tray of food in front of them and pulled the chair.
"Good morning, Loriena." Carn greeted her with her sweetest smile.
That made Lorna scowl at her and ignore her as she sat down.
Carn turned to Liz. "I’ve tried." Then she resud eating her own breakfast. Not minding the newcor anymore.
"Are you joining us this morning or in the afternoon again?" Lorna asked lisca.
"Neither." She glanced her eyes up to her cousin. This could be their last to see each other.
"Busy with your laptop again? I was really curious what job they gave you." She twisted the cap open on the fresh milk.
"It was nothing new from my forr job." She replied. It wasn’t totally a breach of confidentiality as she wasn’t saying the whole details.
"You’re hunting soone?"
She nodded.
"How can you do that if you’re here?" There was a glint of excitent in her eyes and voice. "Don’t you need to be on the field? Wait... Are you good with computers too?"
"Can’t say I am. It’s just luck, I guess." She shrugged her shoulders. And she wondered if Lorna could keep that bright face when she murdered her parents. Of course, she wouldn’t. The girl would hate her. But she was just thankful then that she wouldn’t see her hatred, as she was used to her smiles at her. She decided she would spare Lorna. Her mother saved her from an accident after all, even knowing that her sister was after them.
Carn remained silent, just listening to the two talking.
lisca road her eyes around for any trainers or a committee mber. But she saw none. She couldn’t just ask Lorna of her parent’s whereabouts. It would be suspicious.
"How is your training so far? Your father already lifted your curse?" She ant if Lawrenz already allowed her to go out next Sunday.
Lorna took a heavy breath and sighed loudly. "As for the training. I’m doing fine. Getting better. But it would be great if you had ti to teach again. I’d rather listen to you than them." She pointed her fork at her. "You’re more helpful."
"Try to treat them as your friend." She suggested. "I think that would be much easier."
Lorna made up a sour face that made lisca laugh. "My father threatened them to be harsh to so that I would learn the hard way."
"Where are they, by the way? I didn’t see any trainers." It was the perfect ti to open the question and to get the information she needed.
"Oh. They were having breakfast with the committee in a private room, I guess." She answered casually.
lisca nodded. So that ant that Dr. Vera was still in the camp. The people she was after were all present.
It was almost 8:00. Lorna and Carn went inside the arena as lisca got back the dorm to start working in her laptop.
She readied the codes and everything. She was only halfway to crack their CCTV but she had to do the rest of the work inside the conference room. She couldn’t alert them yet. After closing the laptop, she stood up and braided her long hair before circling it in a tight bun. It was quite heavy but she was already used to it.
lisca grabbed the weapons and stepped inside the dressing curtain. She didn’t want the cara to witness her dressing up for war. She tucked in her knives to her waist and to the side of her boots. The gun at her lower back and its reserve, along with her knuckle gloves were in the inside pocket of her leather jacket.
She looked at the clock, three minutes until 8:00. She could be late to make sure that everyone was already inside the room waiting for her, waiting for their demise. She looked at the mirror in front of her. She took a long breath as her heartbeat rapidly for the battle of odds that she would begin. Then her eyes briefly glinted with golden orbs. The wolf in her was thrilled too.
lisca moved out from the curtain and stepped to the wardrobe again. Of course, she wouldn’t forget her money. Only a few wads of cash left. And she’d already did a money transfer online to so of her hidden account. She had to make sure of everything because money was her only side kick throughout the years. And that wouldn’t change when she got out of the camp.
She then closed the wardrobe and grabbed the laptop on the bed. When she reached the door, she never looked back again and just went out of the dorm. Each of her step was heavy with anticipation. She was feeling a bit anxious, like the caras were following her every move. It doesn’t matter anymore, because she was coming to them.
