Tristan pulled the chair for and as I settled in, he pushed it in slowly.

"Thank you." I whispered as he moved away and took his seat at the head of the table.

He nodded. "What would you like to eat?"

"I would like to have sothing light, soup would be good."

Tristan raised the tiny bell that was kept beside him and a servant ca inside to stand next to him. Tristan relayed what I wanted and then the servant was on his way.

I felt his eyes on , watching continuously. As much as I wanted to avoid looking at him at the mont, sothing and made want to look at him continuously. Just as he did, just like he did. I wanted to reciprocate the hungry eyes he watched with.

Lifting my eyes, slowly, I look at him as discreetly as I could only to notice where exactly he was looking out. Tristan was looking at my neck, more specifically the left side, where his Mark was.

"Why do you keep on looking at it?"

He lifted his eyes to look at . "It’s my mark on my beloved. Its mine and it makes you mine."

Listening to the possessive word ’mine’ made gulp. The subconscious action of clenching my legs together, while holding the chair tightly, followed the next, which I do not understand. I never had such a reaction to him. It was all just intensified.

My reaction was to look away from him. Anything that caused a distraction from him had my attention on it, but there was nothing in the room that was interesting enough.

It was scary. It was also scary that I did not understand what direction anything was going in. I should have asked more questions, asked what was going to happen next. How everything was going to happen. I should have not just asked Tristan about it, rather Marilyn or even Irene.

"Genevive," Tristan’s calm voice soothed and I turned my head towards him. "Calm down, my love. Breathe for ."

His eyes fixated on as he carefully watched my breathing. Just as he asked, my body followed it without a word of protest. I was breathing slowly for him, and quite loudly.

"Good Girl," he praised, "well done, my love."

A blush followed up my skin and I blinked in wonder about what to say. "T-thank you," I stuttered at the very end.

Tristan give a grateful nod in return, smiling as he knew the effect he was having on , and he was not at all shaful to not use it.

"You don’t need to worry about anything, Genevive. Let all your worries be mine, including the ones you have now. Allow to have everything to take care of the troubles you have."

I frowned at his words. It was like Tristan had read exactly what was on my mind. How?

"I.."

My words were cut off when the door opened and the servants walked inside with my food. There was another tree that they were carrying presumably for Tristan.

"Have you not eaten yet?" I asked him and he raised a finger, asking to wait.

Wednesday or left after placing the food in front of us, he answered, "No, I have not eaten till now. I was waiting to et with you."

He had been waiting for ? Did that an that he was hungry the entire night or had he not eaten anything the seven nights I had been conscious for?

"Ask what you are thinking about, don’t keep it inside you." He tapped his fingers on the put next to my fingers. He’s not touching , but sohow I was very much aware of him being near .

How was it possible, I truly wondered.

"I," glancing between the hot food and him, I asked him, "have you not even for the past seven nights?" or just tonight?

"All the seven days and nights that you have been unconscious, I have not eaten or drunk anything." He revealed, taking by surprise.

"Why?" I asked. I found absolutely no reason to write a standard not to eat anything. "I thought you wanted to be unconscious. Then why punish yourself?"

"I was not happy that my beloved was sleeping away because of my selfishness—"

"Why would you punish yoursel—"

"My punishnt," He intervened, "was entirely my decision. You will not understand it because the bond does not affect you the sa way it affects ."

"Please," He said, "eat until you are full."

With my mind heavy, I picked up the spoon and took in a little broth before blowing steam away and bringing it to my lips. It was the sa soup, just as delicious as it was before.

Around five spoonfuls, or so, Tristan finally began to eat what was in front of him. A piece of at with blood.

He has starved himself as punishnt, because of what he had done to . Soone had once ntioned to , I did not rember who, but they said that a hungry vampire was just as dangerous as a wild animal. They were prone to attacking anyone around them. What Marilyn had done to what is nothing in comparison to what a really a feral and hungry vampire could do.

Is that why he had gone to be today? Only to co back when he had heard about my waking up. That was sothing I wanted to ask, but it not because I found myself hungry again and the soup now took priority.

It satisfied a little bit that he had also kept himself away and punished. Just like I had been without a reason. I did not make it alright and just, but it provided so comfort.

By the ti my bowl was empty, I turned to look at him only to find him watching as always. "What?" I asked him.

Tristan answered, "your sister is awake. Would you like to et her now?"
