Once familiar, the second ti cos easy, Qing Yu applied the "Mind Control Technique" for the second ti, and it was barely a familiar journey for him.
"Tell , who are you, and where do you co from?" Qing Yu asked slowly, his deep eyes flickering with a strange hue as he watched the Black-clothed Man’s eyes.
Upon hearing the question, the Black-clothed Man’s eyes were vacant as he replied, "I..."
His words had barely begun when they abruptly stopped, a clear struggle flashed through his empty gaze, his face began to twist, as he was desperately resisting Qing Yu’s "Mind Control Technique."
"Oh, so there’s still so resistance..." Qing Yu watched the Black-clothed Man who was struggling with a hint of surprise.
Unlike Lu Yi, although the Black-clothed Man was far less powerful, he had been through rigorous training and years of brainwashing; his will was as solid as rock. That was the main reason the masters of the Death Soldiers believed their soldiers would never betray them—they had been brainwashed to not even be complete human beings, with no room for thoughts of betrayal.
Naturally, the ease with which Qing Yi hypnotized Lu Yi last ti had to do with the fact that he had been excessively drained from frequent use of "Knowledge Gained Through Experience."
In face of this circumstance, Qing Yi was sowhat surprised, but not at all in a hurry, because this ti, he had co prepared.
Being from another world where technology was advanced, Qing Yu knew that the human body isn’t entirely controlled by the conscious. Even more so, at tis, what the body experiences can greatly influence the conscious. The saying, "The mouth says ’No,’ but the body is honest," speaks to this idea. (Cough cough, don’t think dirty.)
The human body contains many hormones, and the control of a person can be achieved through the secretion of various hormones, just like the villain in a TV drama Qing Yu had watched in his previous life.
The purple pill that the Black-clothed Man had been slipped earlier was a hormone-related product, naturally intended to make him more receptive to the control of the "Mind Control Technique."
Qing Yu simply watched him struggle, unwillingly, numbly, until, finally, all that was left was a vacant calmness.
The drug, had taken effect...
"Tell , who are you, and where do you co from?" Qing Yu posed the question once more.
This ti, the answer he awaited ca forth, "From the Fujita Family as a hidden guard, code-nad Shadow Hawk, hailing from Japan."
Indeed, he was Japanese.
Qing Yu had long sensed sothing amiss. Tian Pingzhi, or rather Fujita Heijiro, had subconsciously tried to bow during an etiquette exchange.
Also, during the dusk of that day, the six Death Soldiers used the teor Dart, but their actual weapon of choice must have been the ninja’s handheld sword.
This specialized Hidden Weapon of the Japanese Ninja, when modified by adding a few edges, becos the teor Dart known in the Central Plains Martial Arts community.
And that slightly oddly shaped standard-issue short sword they used was likely modified from the Japanese Small Katana.
All of this gave Qing Yu an odd sense of familiarity.
It’s just that mories of ninjas were rather distant, and even in his previous life, it was only due to following a manga called "Legendary Eyes: The Five Villages’ Mass Brawl" during his youth that he had a deeper understanding of ninjas.
That ti felt so distant from now that mories had blurred, and since Qing Yu was unsure if there was a similar island nation in this world, he had not previously considered this possibility.
Not until this night when he saw the Shadow Hawk ninja erge from the water did this bizarre familiarity finally unravel.
"Japanese ninjas indeed are interesting. The East Sea is far from Linchuan Prefecture. Without the Luoshui, traveling by land would take an indefinite amount of ti. Surely, the East Sea Comrce didn’t co here to indulge in the local specialties of Northern Zhou. Tell , what is Fujita Heijiro’s purpose?"
"I do not know..."
Shadow Hawk’s speech was a bit slow, but this was a common phenonon when controlled by the "Mind Control Technique," a state Lu Yi had also been in, so truly, he did not know.
"Does Feng Yixian know your identities? What is his relationship with you?" Qing Yu continued to inquire.
"Feng Yixian... people from the Fujita family..."
Shadow Hawk only managed to say this much; he could no longer articulate more about Feng Yixian. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to or didn’t know, but as a Death Soldier grood from birth, his worldview differed from ordinary people.
Understanding what he knew, he held no interest in those matters. Death Soldiers were a kind of weapon; aside from killing and protecting their master, they needed no other thoughts.
This made it significantly harder to gather information about Fujita Heijiro. Qing Yu had not expected the brainwashing of the family’s Death Soldiers by the Japanese to be so thorough—to the point where even self-awareness was absent, making them more like machines than humans.
"And what about Lin Tengyuan? Is he also from the Fujita family like Feng Yixian?"
"I do not know..."
You don’t know? Qing Yu furrowed his brows. Lin Tengyuan was currently the strongest in Linchuan Prefecture and also served as a Silver Seal Constable for Six Gates. His official status, combined with his formidable power, made him the biggest variable in Linchuan Prefecture. Without certainty of which side he stood on, Qing Yu could never be at ease.
Wait... not knowing? An affirmative ans yes, a denial ans no, this ambiguous ’not knowing’ seed too vague. If such an answer ca from an ordinary person, it would an he truly could not be sure.
But when said by Shadow Hawk, a person with only basic thinking, it posed so issues.
Given Shadow Hawk’s simple thinking, there should only be two explicit responses: yes or no. The ambiguous reply of ’not knowing’ shouldn’t be coming from him.
Unless...
"Can you confirm whether Lin Tengyuan is definitely unrelated to Fujita Heijiro?" Qing Yu changed his line of questioning.
"Cannot. With Feng Yixian’s assistance, Lin Tengyuan and Fujita Heijiro... have had quite a few interactions, but there is no concrete evidence to show... that Lin Tengyuan is on the side of East Sea Comrce..."
Shadow Hawk’s speech beca intermittent, the aftershocks were starting to appear.
This thod of devastating the mind to control the psyche trendously damaged the brain, and coupled with the severe aftereffects of the purple pills Qing Yu had administered to Shadow Hawk, he was beginning to buckle under the strain.
Qing Yu quickly asked a few more questions that he had planned earlier; Shadow Hawk’s responses grew slower and slower, and in the end, blood poured from his every orifice, his face veins bulging as if he were a fierce Evil Ghost ready to devour soone.
However, before this Evil Ghost could feed, he was already dead from brain failure.
Although not all of the questions Qing Yu had wanted to ask were answered, the information he gathered was still quite substantial.
However, the problem was sowhat solved, and now Qing Yu was faced with a different concern. The situation in Linchuan Prefecture was becoming more complex, and he was starting to consider whether to continue getting involved or not.
