Li Qingshen nodded slightly, then turned around and reached out his hand, wrapping it around Ling Momo’s waist, and walked toward the corner sofa.
This was the first ti Ling Momo had seen Li Qingshen since they had parted after the advertisent shoot.
Originally, Ling Momo felt a hint of warmth in her heart because Li Qingshen had drunk the wine for her. She turned her head and upon seeing Li Qingshen’s cold, handso face, she involuntarily thought of the words he had said that day. Ling Momo pursed her lips, and that warmth in her heart vanished without a trace. Subconsciously, she shifted slightly to dodge Li Qingshen’s hand and called out in a soft tone, "Teacher."
Li Qingshen felt her resistance and slightly lowered his eyelids, hiding the dimness in his eyes, and remained silent.
Li Qingshen led Ling Momo to the couch in the corner, gestured for her to sit down, then turned sideways and called over a waiter. He whispered sothing in the waiter’s ear, and the waiter nodded before leaving. After a while, the waiter brought over a porcelain pot and placed it on the table, "Mr. Li, your tea."
Li Qingshen sat beside Ling Momo, gave a slight nod, then picked up the porcelain pot, poured a cup of hot tea, and placed it in front of Ling Momo, "If you don’t want to drink alcohol, don’t."
Ling Momo looked at the hot tea in front of her, and her heart instinctively ward, but then, she coldly chuckled to herself, reminding herself that his actions were actually for himself; to her, she was just a tool to perfect his image. She didn’t need to think he genuinely cared about her.
Suddenly, Ling Momo slightly lowered her head, her voice polite but lacking the usual playful charm, "It’s just basic socializing."
Li Qingshen realized her estrangent was because of what he had said that day, and perhaps he was angry... There was an inexplicable sense of loss in his heart.
Li Qingshen stared at Ling Momo’s bowed head, a flicker of apology crossing his eyes. He then turned away, moved his lips slightly, and said softly, "Your health is important, those social obligations are not."
Having learned her lesson from last ti, Ling Momo naturally didn’t take Li Qingshen’s words as concern. She curled her lips and maintained a polite tone, "I just want to do my best, so as not to let you down!"
Li Qingshen’s hand subconsciously trembled, he turned and glanced at Ling Momo, emotions flickering in his eyes, but soon regained his composure, once again looking straight ahead, watching the crowd not far away, without speaking further.
He could hear the sarcasm hidden in her seemingly obedient words.
Ling Momo’s stomach was indeed uncomfortable, she stretched out her hand, picked up the tea, and silently took a couple of sips. Realizing that Li Qingshen had remained silent, she turned her head to look at him.
In the magnificent "Imperial Palace" hall, the lights were brilliant, and everyone’s face bore a flattering, joyful smile, except for the man beside her, who was coldly half-turned away, his posture elegant, staring into the distance, thinking about sothing.
His entire presence exuded aloofness, she knew it wasn’t sothing he deliberately projected, but sothing innate.
At any mont, he could utterly destroy one’s face.
Ling Momo curled her lips, turned her head, and out of boredom, thought of Enson. She took out her mobile phone from her handbag and sent Enson a WeChat ssage, [Are you there?]
Just after Ling Momo successfully sent the ssage, she heard a ticking sound coming from the pocket of the man beside her.
