"This tree...it is Mythical tree!" Liang Bao said with shock.
"What?" Gu Jin and Lu Siyao were confused.
"Mythical tree is..." Before Lu Siyao could tell them information about the mythical tree, a strange growling sound ca from nearby.
Gu Jin turned towards the sound and said softly,
"Not good."
Lu Siyao and Liang Bao’s soul almost left their body.
"Gu...Guys...it is not...looks like we...are not alone..."
Before Lu Siyao could finish her sentence, the ground beneath them trembled, and a deep, resonant roar echoed through the forest, sending shivers down their spines.
The mist parted like a curtain being drawn back, revealing a monstrous figure erging from the shadows.
Drakomagnus stood before them, towering over the ancient tree.
Its obsidian scales glimred with an otherworldly light, and its massive wings stretched wide, casting an imposing shadow over the trio.
The air crackled with energy as the beast’s eyes, glowing an eerie blue, locked onto them.
Drakomagnus was a Master level beast...
To defeat a master-level beast, two supermages are needed...
But currently.
"Jin’er should we run?" Lu Siyao asked softly.
Gu Jin’s eyes flashed with excitent,
"How about trying to fight against it for once?"
For the past 3 years, though she participated in many adventures, she never got the chance to fight against a master-level beast.
She has 2 advanced rank elents and one interdiate rank elent.
If she can’t fight against a master level beast then she should just pack her bags and leave.
After all, how huge the difference could be between advanced rank and super rank?
Gu Jin instantly cast an advanced rank spell,
"Toxic spores."
A poisonous gas slowly started to spread in the atmosphere and Drakomagnus
Drakomagnus inhaled deeply, then exhaled a stream of black fire, dispersing the poisonous gas in an instant.
The trio dodged the flas, their flying boots giving them the agility they needed to avoid being burned.
"That was close!" Liang Bao gasped, her heart pounding.
Gu Jin’s excitent grew.
"I am going to fight it, you both can leave if you want to."
Liang Bao and Lu Siyao shook their head at the sa ti.
Leave Gu Jin? Impossible!
Even if they die, they will die together with Gu Jin!
"Psychic Beam!" Liang Bao cast an Interdiate Rank Psychic elent spell.
A focused beam of psychic energy shot towards Drakomagnus, hitting it squarely in the chest. The beast roared in pain, its massive body shuddering from the impact.
Drakomagnus was a dark and fire-elent beast. Its ntal strength wasn’t very strong hence even though Liang Bao only used an Interdiate Rank psychic spell, the beast was deeply affected.
However, the spell wasn’t enough to defeat Drakomagnus.
"Ice chain." Lu Siyao casted.
Lu Siyao’s first elent was fire while the second was Ice.
Chains of ice materialized around Drakomagnus, wrapping tightly around its limbs and binding it to the ground. The beast roared in frustration, struggling to break free from the icy restraints.
"Nice work, Siyao!" Gu Jin praised, her eyes still glowing with excitent. "Now it’s my turn."
Gu Jin summoned her second advanced rank elent,
"Nine Pillars of Fire!"
Nine towering pillars of fire erupted from the ground, encircling Drakomagnus and trapping it within a blazing inferno.
The intense heat caused the air to shimr, and the beast roared in agony as the flas licked at its obsidian scales.
Drakomagnus enraged and in pain, thrashed violently, attempting to break free from the fiery prison.
The ground shook with its powerful movents, but the ice chains and fire pillars held firm.
Suddenly it stopped thrashing against the fiery prison and a dark ball shot out.
The ball was once leaving the fiery prison, multiplied into a thousand small balls, and hit Gu Jin, Lu Siyao, and Liang Bao.
Whoosh.
The trio were knocked out.
"Sh*t! It’s so strong." Lu Siyao cursed.
Gu Jin’s body trembled and she was dizzy for a mont. Faint blood seeped out from the corner of her lips.
She wiped away the blood from the back of the palm and stood up.
By now the Drakomagnus has freed itself from the fiery prison.
Gu Jin cast another advanced rank spell,
"Soaring Fire!"
A massive torrent of fire erupted from Gu Jin’s hands, spiraling toward Drakomagnus with fierce intensity.
The flas engulfed the beast, causing it to roar in pain once more.
Lu Siyao and Liang Bao struggled to their feet, their bodies aching from the impact of the dark balls. They watched as Gu Jin continued to attack.
"We can’t let her fight alone," Liang Bao said.
"Let’s give it everything we’ve got." Lu Siyao agreed.
Liang Bao focused his psychic energy once more, casting another spell,
"Mind Burst!" A concentrated burst of psychic energy struck Drakomagnus’s mind, causing it to stagger.
Simultaneously, Lu Siyao summoned her ice elent again,
"Frostbite!" A chilling wave of ice surged towards Drakomagnus, freezing its legs to the ground.
Drakomagnus roared in frustration, its movents hindered by the combined attacks.
The beast’s blue eyes glowed even brighter, a sign of its escalating rage.
Gu Jin seized the opportunity, casting her final advanced rank spell, "Inferno Blaze!"
A colossal wave of fire, hotter and more intense than any spell she had cast before, surged towards Drakomagnus, engulfing it completely.
"Is it dead?" Lu Siyao asked with an expectant expression.
To be able to defeat a master-level beast, with just 3 advanced rank elents and one interdiate rank elent... will truly make them famous.
Roar!
The fla subsided and Drakomagnus’s skin was charred black indicating he was burnt, but that was all.
"My god! This Drakomagnus should be called Cockromagnus! Just like a cockroach, it is very difficult to kill!" Lu Siyao complained.
Gu Jin narrowed her eyes and said,
"Bao’er cast mind control, Yao’er freeze its legs."
She was planning to use her fire elent and then cast a dark fire elent secretly.
To ensure her victory she also decided to cast Plant Vines.
"Okay!"
"Understood."
"Mind Control!" Liang Bao shouted, focusing her psychic energy to take control of Drakomagnus’s mind.
The beast struggled, its movents becoming erratic as it fought against Liang Bao’s ntal hold.
"Ice Lock!" Lu Siyao cried, freezing Drakomagnus’s legs once more. The beast roared in frustration, unable to move as the ice-encased its limbs.
Gu Jin took a deep breath, channeling her energy to cast her spells. She focused on her fire elent,
"Fiery Fist."
A huge fire fist made its way towards Drakomagnus.
At the sa ti, once she completed her fire elent casting, Gu Jin imdiately cast a Dark Fire elent spell.
"Illusion!"
An aura of dark flas surrounded Drakomagnus, creating a mirage that distorted its vision.
The beast thrashed and roared, trying to break free from the combined effects of the ice, psychic control, and the disorienting illusion.
Gu Jin took advantage of the confusion, summoning her final spell, "Plant Vines."
Thick, sturdy vines sprouted from the ground, intertwining with the ice chains and wrapping around Drakomagnus’s limbs and torso.
"Hold on tight!" Gu Jin shouted, pouring all her remaining energy into strengthening the spells.
The vines tightened, the dark fire illusion intensified, and the ice chains held firm.
Drakomagnus’s blue eyes glowed with fury, its body trembling with exertion as it fought against the restraints
"Now, let’s finish this!" Gu Jin declared. She focused all her power into one final spell,
"Poison Vines!"
Sharp vines rose from the ground and pierced through Drakomagnus’s sturdy scales, injecting a potent toxin into the beast.
Drakomagnus’s movents grew sluggish as the poison spread through its system, weakening its resolve. Drakomagnus let out a final, agonized roar as the flas consud it.
"We did it!" Gu Jin said with sparkling eyes.
During the fight, Gu Jin realized that it was indeed difficult to fight against a master-level beast all by herself if she wasn’t a super-rank mage.
"Yes."
"Let’s stop and rest for now."
Gu Jin, Lu Siyao and Liang Bao sat down.
They first ate mana and magic recovering pills, turned off the flying boots, and ate so healing pills.
"Uh! I can’t believe we defeated a master-level beast!" Liang Bao said with dreamy eyes.
"Hey, don’t forget to get the core! We can sell it at least for 500 million!" Lu Siyao said with an excited expression.
"I guess its skin is much more important. Drakomagnus is known for its hard skin, that can be used to make top-level shields." Liang Bao explained.
"Uh...but I have burnt its skin..." Gu Jin said with an embarrassed expression.
Liang Bao chuckled,
"No need to worry, there should still be so parts that are usable. Let’s see what we can salvage."
The trio approached the lifeless body of Drakomagnus, careful not to let their guard down completely.
They inspected the beast, searching for the valuable core and any remaining intact sections of its tough skin.
Gu Jin located the core, a glowing blue gem embedded deep within the beast’s chest. With precision and effort, she extracted it
