In the pitch-dark forest, only a few slivers of moonlight filtered through the gaps in the leaves, spilling onto the ground.

Gray rode alone, galloping at full speed. Andrew led a large group of rcenaries, close on his heels.

"Where’s that woman? Why is the Holy Knight alone?"

"The two junior knights are gone too."

"Who cares! Our mission is him, and him alone!"

As they sped onward, the rcenaries muttered and bickered among themselves.

Soon, Gray’s figure vanished into the darkness ahead.

Left with no other choice, Andrew raised one hand and conjured a triangular green marker in his palm, pointing forward. It was his tool for tracking Gray.

However, the green marker was gradually dimming, indicating that Gray’s distance from them was increasing rapidly.

There was no alternative. Gray’s horse was far too fast. Andrew had to cast the Gale Technique on his own horse, pulling further away from the group of rcenaries behind him.

Soon, the large group of rcenaries lost their guide and beca hopelessly lost in the forest.

...

anwhile, in Pearce Cathedral, with Yilin and the Silver Moon Knight Order departing, as well as the army who had sworn allegiance to Gray withdrawing—so not even fully gone yet—the remaining rcenaries couldn’t wait to shove Benedict II onto the spot where Gray had once stood.

Joining him, under pressure, was Bishop Isaac Dean, both of them disheveled and pitiable.

The rcenary leader shouted loudly: "The Holy Knight has fallen into darkness, but the Holy Spirit has not abandoned us! The Holy Spirit has kindly and rcifully sent Benedict II back to us!"

Instantly, the once-raucous square grew quiet. The commoners lifted their heads one by one, muttering softly as they gazed upward.

"The King is back?"

"Wasn’t he dead?"

"When did he start being associated with kindness and rcy?"

The author of *Knight’s Guide to Success* craned his neck: "The King is back? Can I finally collect my paynt from him? No way... He already fell out with the Holy Knight. No way he’d pay for a book benefiting the Holy Knight."

With that thought, he dejectedly turned away and left.

All eyes were fixed on Dean and Benedict II.

Dean and Benedict II stared back at the crowd, remaining silent for a long ti.

"Say sothing! What’s wrong, have you forgotten how to talk?" the rcenary leader growled nacingly.

"What am I supposed to say?" Dean asked nervously, his voice trembling. "I still don’t even understand what’s happening."

"Say you received enlightennt from the Holy Spirit, that the Holy Knight has fallen, and the King is sent by the Holy Spirit to save Isaac!"

"But I haven’t received any enlightennt."

"It’s an order from the Pope!"

"No, the Pope would never joke about enlightennt from the Holy Spirit. You’re lying!"

In front of the commoners, the two sides began to argue, though they kept their voices low enough that those below the balcony couldn’t hear them clearly.

The rcenary leader, growing desperate, grabbed Dean by the collar and pulled out a dagger, snarling, "I don’t care whether you got enlightennt or not. You have two choices now! Either do as I say, or I’ll stab you twice in the stomach and throw you off this balcony!"

"You wouldn’t dare?!"

"Why wouldn’t I? If a Holy Knight can fall, why can’t a bishop?"

Dean’s mind jolted, suddenly realizing sothing as he cast his gaze around, seeing the fierce grins of the rcenaries surrounding him.

"The Holy Knight hasn’t fallen at all, has he? You’re framing him, aren’t you?"

"You’re just realizing that now? Looks like you’re no different from those ignorant fools down there." With that, the rcenary leader pressed the dagger, wrapped in his sleeve, against Dean’s side and lowered his voice further: "Alright, make your choice imdiately. You only get one chance."

Dean opened his eyes wide, nervously scanning his surroundings. The red glow of the fires illuminated his face, and beads of sweat dripped from his forehead.

Nearby were a wretched Benedict, the nacing rcenaries, and the crowd of commoners below the balcony, all staring at him.

...

Finally, Andrew spotted a figure bathed in silver moonlight ahead.

He abruptly reined in his horse, stopping to face Gray from a distance.

"Well, well, the esteed Holy Knight is waiting for , huh? Where’s your demon bride? And the two junior knights?" Andrew smirked, riding forward at a slow pace, taunting. "How ridiculous. Who would’ve guessed? The mighty Holy Knight turns out to be an Undead Mage. Haha, the tireless, unyielding Silver Moon Knight Order—turns out they’re just an Undead Army, aren’t they? By the way, does the Church know you’re an Undead Mage? How on earth did they decide to appoint soone guilty of such unforgivable defilent of the dead as a Holy Knight?"

Gray sat atop his horse, unmoving, quietly watching him. His hand slowly reached for the hilt of the longsword at his waist.

"And without a single ally, do you actually think you can defeat ?" Andrew asked softly. "I may not know Undead Magic, but if I rember correctly, you summoned a full hundred Undead Knights for the Silver Moon Knight Order. One hundred. Do you even have enough Magic Power left to fight ? Or maybe you could withdraw the magic from the Undead Knights, but doing that would cause them to collapse on the spot. Everyone would see they’re just skeletons, and then your identity as an Undead Mage would be completely exposed."

While the villain was busy monologuing, Gray silently and seriously began to form his strategy.

"If I don’t withdraw the magic from the Silver Moon Knight Order, I can still beat him, right?"
