The Lich of Glory Knight Spirit: Moving towards Krimasha! Chapter 108 - 37: Black and White (4)
"Down with the Holy Knight!"
"Down with the Holy Knight!"
"Down with the Holy Knight..."
The slogan echoed sporadically among the crowd. However, it seed that not many people responded. Everyone was still stunned by Shelley’s sudden transformation into a banshee.
Helpless, Andrew had no choice but to shout differently, "Down with the Holy Knight! Restore the new regi!"
"Down with the Holy Knight! Restore the new regi!"
"Down with the Holy Knight!"
"Restore the new regi!"
The crowd began to respond. So people surged forward, starting to break through the soldiers’ defense line.
On the balcony, mbers of the White City gang looked at Shelley, who had already transford into a banshee. They were too shocked to speak and were completely unaware of the dramatic change in the situation.
Shelley stared blankly at Gray, tears streaming down.
"I... Gray, I, I’m really not a demon. I don’t know why I would..."
"I know; it’s the potion," Gray turned his face, releasing Divine Sense to start searching his target among the crowd.
anwhile, Gray had already walked to Shelley’s side amid everyone’s astonished gazes, reached out, and held Shelley’s claw-like hand lightly. He then whispered, "Don’t be afraid, I’m here."
Shelley stared blankly at Gray. Gray wore a mask, so no one could see his expression. But Shelley could feel his unwavering determination through his grip.
The crowd in the plaza roared.
"The Holy Knight is indeed bewitched by demons..."
"He is actually standing with the demon?"
"Does he want to protect that demon?"
"Burn her!"
Andrew smiled subtly and bowed his head, covering it tightly with the hood.
Silver Moon Knights and ordinary soldiers ford a line, desperately blocking the civilians trying to rush toward the cathedral.
Suddenly, a hand erged from the crowd, pressing against one of the Silver Moon Knights’ visors. Fortunately, the Silver Moon Knight reacted quickly, scread, and stepped back to dodge.
The hand quickly retracted. Amid the chaos, they couldn’t even figure out whose hand it was.
"This is bad," Carl whispered into Gray’s ear.
"I know," Gray stood motionless, continuing to search the crowd with Divine Sense.
All Silver Moon Knights heard Gray’s voice in their minds, "Retreat, form up, let the other soldiers take over!"
"Yes!"
All Silver Moon Knights retreated in unison. The ordinary soldiers behind them quickly took their place, continuing to block the civilians’ assault.
The rcenaries lurking in the crowd were helpless without access to the Silver Moon Knights.
Without the Silver Moon Knights, the entire defense line beca shaky. More importantly, no one drew their weapons. Once it was confird that Gray did not intend to allow bloodshed, the civilians seed suddenly encouraged and surged forward even more frantically.
"Rush in! Kill the demon who bewitched the Holy Knight! There is money next month!"
"Charge!"
"Burn the demon!"
Everyone seed to have gone mad.
The author of "The Knight’s Guide to Achievent" was pushed to the back by the crowd, standing dazedly, not knowing what to do.
...
In the small room, Dean, the bishop, sat restlessly, listening to the commotion outside.
"What is happening?"
The rcenary beside him touched the edge of his dagger and said softly, "Just stay here quietly. There’s sothing needed from you later."
"Need ? For what?" Dean was bewildered and sowhat panicked.
...
Among the crowd, Gray finally locked onto a target.
Andrew seed to notice too and slowly raised his head, making eye contact with Gray from a distance, smiling.
Next to him, Benedict II was scared and tried to run, but Andrew held him tightly.
"Hello, Holy Knight of the Undead Mage, I am Andrew, the Chief Mage of the Mage Alliance, honored to et you." The provocative words were directly transmitted to Gray’s mind.
*p>*Can I defeat him?* Gray asked Vivian.
"Blood Elf Mage, two hundred and ten years old," Vivian replied softly.
"Then I can’t defeat him?"
"No, you can. Liches are pure magic beings, their magical perception is significantly stronger than Blood Elves, not to ntion you don’t need rest. However, having already distributed magic power to a hundred Undead Knights, winning will be difficult."
"But I can still win, right?"
"I suppose so. Fighting is unpredictable. If you’re willing to borrow my power, there won’t be any surprises. I can beat him so badly that even his mother wouldn’t recognize him."
Gray did not respond.
Seeing Gray not act imdiately and just quietly staring at him, Andrew tightened his grip on Benedict II’s hand and transmitted another ssage to Gray’s mind.
"You guessed right; I cursed your fiancée. If you can defeat , I can tell you how to lift the curse."
*p>*Gray’s hand already grasped the sword hilt.*
The Black Cat quickly scread, "Don’t let him fool you! Do not act!"
*"Why?"*
"He wants to use civilians as his shield!"
*In an instant, Gray understood.*
*Yes, if the area below were filled with soldiers, like previously surrounded by Benedict II, Gray could rush forward without hesitation. But if they were civilians...*
*p>*Rushing forward was what the enemy wanted. This was a preditated trap. Taking that step, Gray would have no way back.*
Gray slowly loosened his grip on the sword, turned his face, and looked at Shelley, "Shelley, I know this is unfair to you. I promise you, I will lift your curse."
Shelley stared blankly at Gray.
Before everyone could react, Gray shouted loudly, "Tenidas—!"
In the distance, Tenidas leaped, crossing the scattered soldiers behind the front line, rushing towards the location directly below the balcony.
Turning back, Gray spoke to Yilin, Count Gruglu, and the others, "As long as Shelley and I are not here, they have no reason to attack the cathedral."
With that, he picked Shelley up and jumped off the balcony, landing firmly on Tenidas’s horse.
The people in the plaza were stunned, even Andrew was stunned.
Jones and Dora quickly followed and jumped off the balcony.
Gray tightly held Shelley, swiftly turned the horse around, and rushed into the cathedral’s main gate. The scattered soldiers along the way hurriedly dodged.
Yilin, Bob, Count Gruglu, and others clung to the balcony of the cathedral’s main building, watching in terror.
The front door was completely surrounded; there was only one way to leave—through the back door.
Gray rode his horse at full speed along the cathedral’s main hall. When he passed the main hall, he stopped, bowed his head, and drew a cross on his chest with his hand.
"rciful Lord, if this is your test, I will not give up. I am ready to fight long-term against injustice; victory belongs to the valiant, not the coward!" With that, he continued to ride swiftly.
*p>*Shelley, held in Gray’s arms, was stunned because she felt that the statues slowly rolled their eyes. They were all watching Gray.*
*Not just the statues, in the dark, moonlit Pearce Cathedral, everything was watching Gray.*
*The murals, the past events, even Alboiseld, the Holy Sect mber who was burned alive, was watching Gray. Just as past millennia, this was another wave, only this ti the lead fell to a Lich Knight.*
In the blink of an eye, they had rushed out of the cathedral’s back door. There was an equally deployed defense line, but only a few civilians.
...
"Duke Beisher, and everyone else," Carl looked around at everyone, his gaze finally settling on Bob. He touched Bob’s head and said softly, "Especially Prince. Under Holy Knight’s orders, I have been instructed to protect you all out of Lion King City. We need to leave imdiately, but we will return."
Coming to his senses, Yilin asked blankly, "When did he give you this order?"
"Just now."
Under the command of the Silver Moon Knight, the human soldiers forming the defense line quickly created gaps, forming up and moving outward.
Suddenly, the civilians who had just been surging forward were left without direction, standing dazed.
"He actually gave up Lion King City? Rather give up Lion King City than submit?" Andrew clenched his teeth and widened his eyes.
"He gave up Lion King City? So I... I can reclaim the throne?"
Beside him, Benedict II was similarly stunned. However, the difference between him and Andrew was one of anger and one of joy, worlds apart.
"Leaving without bloodshed? Impossible!" Turning his face, Andrew shouted loudly, "Chase! Don’t let him escape!"
This was directed at the scattered rcenaries, accurately transmitted to their minds.
The rcenaries, dressed in various disguises, tore off their disguises and moved swiftly.
...
Zeda and Tavia watched quietly.
...
Following the long street, Gray sped along, with scattered pedestrians frantically dodging. Jones and Dora rode closely behind.
"Why... do you trust so much?" Shelley choked back tears.
"I said, even if you were surrounded by saints, I would save you. A Holy Knight’s promise is unequivocal," Gray replied firmly.
*Yes, Shelley thought it was a love vow, but actually it wasn’t.*
Gray tightly embraced the already transford Shelley. Shelley also hugged him tightly, crying, laughing.
Speeding through, the wind whistled past, and Shelley’s long hair fluttered in the breeze. Light and shadow flowed around them, like the fleeting years.
They raced out of Lion King City, past the farms, into the forest.
Gray drew his horse to a halt, lifted Shelley off the horse, and instructed Jones and Dora, who had just arrived, "You protect Shelley."
"Yes!"
Gray then turned and embraced Shelley tightly. He whispered in her ear, "I’ll go teach so bad guys a lesson and co back for you soon."
Shelley hugged Gray tightly, only letting go after a while. Blinking with tear-filled eyes, she choked and said, "I’ll wait for you."
