Chapter 161 - Is He Your Boyfriend?
On their way to the venue, Fu ixu talked to Jia Li about her filming and the pros and cons surrounding the industry.
While conversing with Jia Li, Fu ixu discovered that Jia Li hadn't watched any of her movies. She forcibly downloaded two of them that had already aired.
"Jia Li make sure to give them a try and give a few pointers from the audience's perspective."
"Can I do that later?" Jia Li asked. She had so many things to do, plus her project, so she didn't know if she would have the ti to watch it as soon as possible.
"Okay, but I would love feedback soon, I have to prepare for an audition this weekend, your pointers can help to improve a few things." Fu ixu said to her.
"Okay." Jia Li agreed. Since she put it that way, Jia Li had to agree with her.
When they got to the venue, both of them alighted from the car and walked into the hotel as the driver went to park the car.
Fu ixu had a huge smile on her face as she found the room for the party and walked in with Jia Li.
Since the party had already started when they arrived, all eyes were on them when they walked in.
Fu ixu greeted everybody in the room and apologized to them by drinking two shots of alcohol, and then, she went ahead to introduced Jia Li to them.
"Everyone, this is my friend, Jia Li, she is a fashion designer."
Jia Li followed Fu ixu's lead and greeted everyone in the room. Jia Li felt at ease as everyone in the room welcod her. They didn't have to be genuine for Jia Li to be satisfied. As long as they returned the greeting she was more than okay with it.
"ixu don't just stand there, bring your friend to co and sit." The director of the movie said to Fu ixu with a smile.
"Thank you, director." Fu ixu replied before taking Jia Li with her to go and sit.
Not long after, Fu ixu's enemy arrived, and it turned out that she was a big shot.
When Zhi Ruo arrived, Jia Li noticed the change in Fu ixu's attitude, and she guessed they were not on good terms.
Just like Fu ixu, Zhi Ruo chose to drink 5 shots of alcohol. As she did that, almost everyone hailed her as a goddess.
Fu ixu was angry deep down because of the attention Zhi Ruo received, but the fake smile on her face made it difficult to see through her thoughts.
After the noise died down, Fu ixu pretended as if she was starting to be hot and took off her jacket.
She managed to garner another wave of attention when the sexy dress hidden underneath the red leather jacket was revealed.
Fu ixu smiled as she got complints from almost everyone in the room, and finally when she settled her gaze on Zhi Ruo, their eyes t.
Zhi Ruo scoffed and looked away and Fu ixu smiled even more brightly.
Jia Li who was sitting beside Zhi Ruo saw the hidden exchange between them and turned her gaze away.
She had no idea how the acting industry worked, and she was surprised to see such a scene.
Throughout the party, the highlight was on Fu ixu and Zhi Ruo.
When soone brought up the role she landed without having to audition for it, they all congratulated and rained praises on her.
As if that was not enough, another person ntioned how Fu ixu moved from an E-list actress to a C-list actress within a year and praised her capabilities.
Fu ixu seized the opportunity to flaunt in front of Zhi Ruo who seed to mind her a lot.
Soone from the side praised their agency since the two of them were signed to the sa agency, and were doing very well.
When soone asked Fu ixu what her goal was, she simply said, "I want to be at the top and show those that looked down on that I could get there."
While saying that, Fu ixu had her gaze on Zhi Ruo before she looked away to complete her statent.
It was only Jia Li and Zhi Ruo that understood what that look ant.
Fu ixu was indirectly talking to Zhi Ruo, and the latter was not a fool not to get the ssage.
When the drink order ca, Jia Li simply picked a bottle of fruit juice. The rest picked beer with only a few of them choosing the sa thing as her.
Jia Li only held onto one bottle of fruit juice till the party ca to an end.
The movie director asked her to feel free to take any drink of her choice, but Jia Li thanked him politely as she said she was okay with the one she had.
As the party was being wrapped up, Zhi Ruo's phone rang and it attracted the attention of others.
After answering the call, Zhi Ruo apologized to them and explained that it was her friend that called.
"Sorry, my friend just called that he is here to pick up." Zhi Ruo said with a smile.
"A male friend? Is he your boyfriend?" Soone asked boldly.
Zhi Ruo smiled as she replied, "He is just a friend"
"Since he is just a friend, we will like to see him." Another person said, and the others agreed with her.
Just like that, everyone followed Zhi Ruo outside to see the male friend that ca to pick her up.
Fu ixu was angry with the attention Zhi Ruo managed to garner at the end of the party.
She didn't want to follow the others outside, but she had no choice. She didn't like the fact that everyone was praising Zhi Ruo for having a handso male friend.
From the interaction between them, Fu ixu could tell there was sothing more to their relationship, and she suddenly beca interested in them.
After Zhi Ruo left with her male friend, Fu ixu ntioned she was leaving as well and waved goodbye to them before getting into the car with Jia Li.
