Chapter 1151: Chapter 149: Teacher, You Really Aren’t Human!
In the grey-blue great hall, the silhouette on the throne resembled a human-shaped burning sacrifice.
He wore a silver-grey crown, bathed in flas, with flowing gold divinity pooling into magma waterfalls down his back, connecting to the roots of the World Tree. Beneath pale skin, liquid dusk writhed, with every breath spilling starlike points from his seven orifices, solemn and sacred.
“How’s it over at the Iron Forest?”
Luo En raised his hand to prop up his chin, looking at Heluo who had arrived at the steps.
“It’s relatively stable for now. There are already stationed forces of Dwarves, humans, and Elves, along with the Valkyrie Corps from Immortal Palace, and those Giants who fled here. Monsters outside, eroded by the black tide, won’t invade easily.”
Heluo replied solemnly and then paused, adding,
“However, food and magic power consumption is a big issue.”
Luo En nodded slightly, indicating understanding.
If the environnt is suitable, it naturally won’t consu much energy. But now, with the Iron Forest facing the dual clampdown of eternal night and the black tide, the environnt is extrely harsh. Adding to this, survivors from Fire Country, Mist Country, and Giant Country have all migrated to Midgard, thus increasing boundary consumption exponentially.
After contemplating briefly, Luo En offered a plan:
“Let the old and weak of the Giant Clan retreat to Valhalla, where the resources are abundant and can temporarily support these big-eaters. Draft a plan for the specifics and have Scadi and Freya execute it.”
“Mountain Giants and Frost Giants are manageable, but Fire Giants don’t seem to acknowledge Scadi as Queen.”
“Then send them to Heather Island and let them show their light and heat.”
Undoubtedly, this was a significant action.
“Okay, I’ll go handle it now!”
Heluo nodded excitedly, humming a tune as she exited the great hall.
Begging and still picky, she had long been dissatisfied with those Fire Giants. It’s just right to pack up the unruly ones and send them as resources, easing her father’s pressure.
The more troublemakers, the happier she was.
After all, bearing the entire Nordic God Era alone wasn’t easy work.
Outside, Heluo gazed at the World Tree burning like a torch and the figure within the temple imrsed in darkness, a hint of gloom flashed in her eyes.
~~
As Heluo left, Celebrian hurried into the temple.
“Master, several ancient trees within the Golden Tree Sea are showing signs of disease, and so Elf warriors previously buried have been resurrected by underground dark power, causing considerable trouble.”
“I rember, Elves traditionally practice tree burial? Their remains are sealed within ancient trees of the Golden Tree Sea?”
“Correct!”
“The cause might be the Elves’ victims who ca in contact with the black tide. Alter the burial thod to cremation as much as possible. As for those diseased ancient trees, let the God of Fertility Frey and the Warner Said Wizard examine them; save if possible, otherwise clear imdiately.”
“Alright, I’ll do it now.”
Celebrian nodded in agreent and turned to leave.
A bottle containing floral, fruity, and honey scents, exuding a rich life aura capable of restoring vitality and soothing the spirit, was left behind.
Following closely, Dwarf Princess Eden arrived with Dwarf Clan craftsman to report:
“According to your instructions, we’ve rebuilt the border fortifications of each realm, linking them as one to jointly resist the black tide’s invasion. Additionally, the Rainbow Bridge repair is complete; now with your command, armies of all great realms can quickly reach problematic areas, filling gaps.”
“Hmm, very well done. Allocate so manpower to forge armor for the Giants, ideally to shield them from the black tide’s erosion.”
“I’ll do it imdiately!”
Eden nodded quickly, while placing down the basket in her hand.
The apples in the basket emitted a golden-red glow and sweet fragrance, resembling the Youth Apple by seventy to eighty percent.
This was a new breed cultivated by her in the Eternal Garden based on experience in nurturing the Divine Tree after the World Tree’s incident.
Though its effects are far less than before, it’s better than nothing.
After the Dwarf Princess left, Freya and Brynhild entered successively, reporting about the Warner and Asa Divine Race.
As the physically superior Divine Race situated in the upper levels of the World Tree, they hadn’t encountered particularly thorny issues.
Mostly, they just wanted to take advantage of the work report to check on Luo En’s condition.
Since the arrival of eternal night, the Lord of Midgard hadn’t left this temple.
Similarly, they brought gifts of their own.
One was Warner’s Secret Dew containing Life Divinity, the other Asa’s Poet Immortal Honey Wine.
Both, like the previous items, had effects of restoring magic power and stabilizing the mind.
Luo En nodded, accepting them, then frowned as he asked the two who seed reluctant to leave:
“Anything else?”
“We want to set aside so ti and personnel to hold a funeral…”
Brynhild and Freya felt awkward yet had to communicate this.
The subject of the funeral was naturally Warner’s Queen and Asa’s God Queen.
Luo En understood and nodded:
“Fine, I’ll have Heluo and Scadi stand guard for you, go ahead with peace of mind.”
Brynhild and Freya breathed a sigh of relief and hurried back to the Immortal Palace to report back.
Having seen off the last batch of visitors for the day, Luo En’s previously upright spine slumped, exhaustedly collapsing onto the throne:
“How about Odin? How is he?”
“Not well, and he’s locked himself in the Golden Palace.”
Urd’s figure erged from the darkness, with Belldandy and Scouty flanking her.
Reaching the steps, Scouty couldn’t help but add:
“Additionally, upon eting us, he’s constantly asking if there’s a way to turn back ti or resurrect the dead.”
“So, is there?”
“Frigga and Balder’s deaths were directly intervened by the Father God. If we could resolve it, would we fear him?”
“Indeed.”
Luo En nodded and looked at the pale faces of the Norn Three Goddesses,
“How about you? How are your injuries recovering?”
“It’s okay.”
Belldandy just started speaking softly, but she coughed violently because she had exerted too much effort in speaking.
At the sa ti, silver-gray cracks began to spread from her chest to her limbs, making her and the surrounding world feel full of fragntation.
Seeing this, Scouty and Urd hurriedly activated their Divine Authority, and barely suppressed the anomaly on Belldandy, helping her to sit on the steps.
In the battle at Muspelheim, the Norn Three Goddesses ultimately faced their Father God, Orlog.
Though they successfully destroyed the selected container, Giant King Lafei, preventing Father God Orlog from descending, the fierce collision of Divinity left the Norn Three Goddesses quite injured.
Especially Belldandy, who presides over [the Present].
If it weren’t for Urd and Scouty desperately sharing her burden, the Goddess of the Present might have been as shattered as the current Nordic God Era.
Of course, the Norn Three Goddesses’ crucial counterattack was not without rit.
At least, until the Heavenly Destiny of the Nordic God Era is exhausted, Orlog cannot descend and reap from the Nordic fields.
“Directly attacking Balder and destroying the World Tree’s roots; that old thing doesn’t even pretend and doesn’t plan to leave us a way out!”
Scouty cursed, her pretty face loaded with indignation.
Luo En comforted, “This only shows that he’s panicked and felt threatened by us. So, looking on the bright side, we are not without hope.”
Then, he looked at Urd:
“Any news from the sea?”
“Not yet.”
“How about Albion’s Tomb?”
“No contact either.”
Urd shook her head and explained with so helplessness,
“The turmoil from the battle at Muspelheim was too intense; not only was the world barrier of the entire Nordic God Era shattered, the rules were chaotic, and the original spatial coordinates were completely destroyed.”
Luo En heard this, his brow furrowed.
Could this reason explain why the Celtic reinforcents couldn’t arrive in ti?
After resting for a mont, Belldandy stood up and asked:
“What should we do now?”
“Wait a while longer.”
Luo En replied solemnly, glancing at Vivian beside him, and spoke unabashedly,
“With her around, Morgan and Morgos shouldn’t ignore us; perhaps they’re just delayed by so accident.”
Belldandy glanced at the burning World Tree, sowhat worriedly looking at Luo En on the throne:
“Can you endure this situation?”
“Isn’t Vivian here with us?”
Luo En patted the shoulder of his beloved disciple, showing a warm and radiant smile.
Vivian’s face turned green at this.
She finally understood why she was dressed like this ghostly appearance, bearing the title of “Fire Saintess,” contributing so of her Divine Blood and Divinity to the Temple every day, integrating into the World Tree to maintain the Sacred Fla’s burning.
“So this whole ti, you’ve been using as a wick, to keep the Nordic God Era prolonging its life?!”
“Nonsense, I’m bringing you into this family.”
Luo En smiled and spoke sincerely,
“We’re all so familiar now, what’s yours and mine, what’s Nordic and Celtic, it’s all the sa…”
Using wicks from both Nordic and Celtic not only extends burning ti but also twists them into one rope.
Once the Nordic side faces a life-and-death crisis, Celtic is bound to resonate correspondingly.
Even separated by thousands of miles, Morgan and Morgos will surely lend a helping hand and weather the storm together.
Vivian hesitated for a mont and cautiously asked:
“What if they don’t co?”
“You go first, I’ll follow, we’ll be family in the next life.”
“So, for the sake of prolonging Nordic’s life, you’ll drain first?”
“Joining this family requires making so sacrifices. But rest assured, I’ve paved the way for you.”
Luo En held his disciple’s hand, pressing her onto the throne, personally placing the Crown on her.
The Lun Rune imdiately turned into chains of confinent, a strong sense of suction emanating from the World Tree roots entwined around the throne, causing Vivian to shiver as if bitten by soone, her complexion waned, and her body nearly beca transparent.
“Teacher…”
“Hmm?”
Luo En blinked, making a listening gesture.
Vivian took a deep breath and cursed with a trembling voice:
“You really are heartless!”
Luo En was startled, then looked at his palm, deep in thought.
Is my demigod status still needing proof?
After re-affirming his identity, Luo En eagerly patted Vivian’s shoulder,
“Do well, and hold on for a couple more days for .”
Watching the unscrupulous ntor who turned to share nectar and Youth Apples with the Norn Three Goddesses, Vivian, lying prostrate on the throne, showed tears of humiliation and unspeakable rage.
When will these days end?
Where are Morgan and Morgos? Help!
