"I don’t think you’re dirty, she’s just talking nonsense." Connor Carter pulled out so peanuts and placed them into Yvette Aston’s hand.

Yvette didn’t dodge, she took the peanuts and ate one.

Charlotte Sumrs didn’t know that the first ti she ntioned marrying her off to Connor Carter, Yvette had already secretly asked the maids about Connor’s situation.

Connor Carter had bipolar disorder and delusional disorder, but he didn’t have episodes all the ti; only when provoked would he break down.

When he’s not having an episode, he’s no different from a normal person.

Yvette had studied psychology in prison and read many books in this area. She understood the psychological activities of such people well. They hate being looked down upon, have sensitive and fragile self-esteem, but possess strong protective instincts. Only by pretending to be a victim weaker than them can their protective instincts be stimulated.

"Aunt Warren said for you to be my wife and that I could do that to you." Connor Carter sat beside Yvette, thinking she consented since she didn’t resist.

"Do you know that I am sick?" Yvette looked at Connor. "I don’t want to harm you, I think they’re trying to harm you."

Connor looked at Yvette, surprised. "You’re sick?"

"Otherwise, do you think they’re really that kind-hearted? Do they treat you well daily?" Yvette was gambling.

"Hell no." Connor cursed. "These people look down on us. My father has worked at the Grant Family for so many years, and no one respects the two of us."

"Look, the maid usually looks down on you but suddenly suggests a wife for you; don’t you find it odd?" Yvette asked softly.

"What illness do you have?" Connor was getting angry, knowing Tracy Warren was trouble.

"AIDS... it’s contagious. Once infected, it’s incurable, you’d die." Yvette showed Connor the bruises covering her body. "Look, I don’t have much ti left."

Connor was shocked seeing the dark purple bruises on Yvette’s pale skin. He instinctively moved away from Yvette.

"I also don’t know why the maid wants to harm you." Yvette sighed.

She spoke again. "I heard them chatting secretly the other day. They said that years ago, you went crazy and injured a young maid in the Grant Family, bringing a bad reputation. Your father is a senior at the Grant Family, too costly to be dismissed. They want to replace your father but need to provoke you into making another mistake. If you harm and I die, the issue blows up; you’d be kicked out of the Grant Family, killing two birds with one stone."

Connor’s anger was becoming uncontrollable. He got up angrily, picked up a stool beside him, and smashed it against the warehouse door.

Yvette trembled in fear, curled up in the corner of the room.

She was actually very scared... if Connor lost control, she would also be affected.

"That bastard, that nasty woman, I knew she wasn’t good. She’s been bad-mouthing my dad for a long ti; I’ve heard her curse several tis!" Connor cursed while trying hard to open the door.

Yvette tightly hugged herself, trying hard not to get hurt.

But Connor’s bipolar emotions surged uncontrollably.

He crazily smashed things in the warehouse, yelling madly.

Outside.

The maid and several other maids pretended not to hear, chatting and eating fruits with a "won’t intervene unless there’s a fatality" attitude.

"Will it cause a death?" a maid asked fearfully.

"Why worry, if soone dies, it’s her bad luck for getting involved with a lunatic, and lunatics aren’t held responsible for murder." The maid Tracy Warren said eerily, looking as if soone dying was just fine.

A few maids fearfully looked in the direction of the warehouse. "Can that fragile Yvette withstand it? It seems like sothing serious is happening."

Upstairs.

Jayden Grant stood by the window, listening to the sounds from the warehouse in the backyard.

His hands clenched in frustration, Jayden wanted to go down.

He only wanted Yvette to yield, to realize her mistake. He didn’t intend for her to die.

"Young Master! Miss Charlotte is vomiting blood!"

At that mont, a young maid ran out of Charlotte Sumrs’ room, her voice urgent.

Jayden imdiately ran to Charlotte’s room. "Charlotte."

"Jayden, I’m so scared..." Charlotte had blood on her lips. "Please take to the hospital."

Jayden paused, then carried Charlotte downstairs, unable to care about Yvette’s fate.

"Have the butler go and take a look; don’t let it result in a death!" Jayden instructed the maid before getting into the car.

But the maid instinctively glanced at Charlotte Sumrs.

Charlotte’s expression was cold and silent.

The maid understood the hint, not opening the door to the warehouse imdiately.

Charlotte Sumrs wanted Yvette dead.

As long as Yvette lived, she feared one day Yvette would take everything that belonged to her again.

So, Yvette had to die.

Warehouse.

"Calm down... Connor... calm down."

Seeing Connor wholly out of control and still no one opening the warehouse door, Yvette, scared, curled up in the corner, crying for him to calm down.

Connor couldn’t listen anymore, a stool flung in anger, flying in Yvette’s direction.

Yvette curled up, holding herself tightly; the stool struck her ear, creating a two-centiter scar, blood instantly gushing out.

Her ear was buzzing severely; her left ear had temporarily gone deaf, hearing nothing.

Connor was still in a frenzy, continuously smashing things.

Leaning in the corner, Yvette’s heartbeat slowed increasingly.

Would she die here?
