Alabasta didn’t hide a thing. He had told this story to countless people before, but he never had such evidence. Instead, his own insistence on Jester’s talent of mory manipulation and dreams had made many wonder if Alabasta was not under the effect of so illusion.
Because in their understanding, the words that Alabasta spoke were not possible. Their very existence was not possible.
But what would they know? He had lived his whole life in his pursuit, and he had seen the madness and the true nation of this beast. He understood more than anyone how dangerous and capable this wraith was when it ca to creating lies.
Lies that the wraith believes himself.
"But that is not possible, such a thing. That goes against the rules of this world."
"Its entire existence is an affront to nature. But due to ignorance of thinking he is a weak insect, many had ignored his existence for too long, letting it ti to grow to such heights... hah." Alabasta sighed, before looking at the Old Dragon Guardian and said. "Lady Vesta, you have existed for countless millenniums, you should know things that have been purged from history, don’t you?" In his young body, Alabasta was far more energetic and active than his own Disciple.
He had long noticed that the Old Dragon Vesta had shown so understanding of what he was speaking about.
Which he was not wrong about. "I am barred to say it... " Was her answer, as well as confirmation for the Cold Corpses Priestess.
To put a powerful Dragon that rivaled the strength of an Angel under a vow, one can see the nature of this topic. Which did shut everyone up here.
"You ca here to look for a way to end him?" Old Dragon Vesta asked after a sigh. "Our goals don’t differ much if I think about it... you going in will probably make my job far easier." She spoke before recomnding a small alliance. Though Priestess of Cold Corpses remained out of it.
Unlike the two, her goals truly did misalign with these two. No matter what, she can’t work for them. But she can still lie as long as she gets entry to this place. For her small plan to work, so truth will be needed considering lying directly to the face of powerful beings always goes wrong.
"My goals differ a bit, you see... I was never here for that wraith, the one I am after is an individual under our protection." She spoke, before detailing what kind of prize they were talking about.
A prize that made Remira and Vance’s eyes light up. "He escaped?"
"Yes, we don’t know how he learned of this matter, but we received a report of his escape, and I was sent to learn who he is eting and what his plans are..." She spoke about how as they were all flying, the Priestess just moved ahead and checked what this was all about, before coming across this whole scene.
"Master, and Remira are aware of this man... he is one of Jester’s creations. The one I had spoken about before." He spoke, making his master recall the topic of Farhad which did make his eyes light up.
This figure, he did hear about it from his student not too long ago, how there was even a small conflict of interest between his student and this boy.
However, all of it ca to a proper resolution by the end of the war. "I was right then... he ca to Jester’s rescue one way or another. I should have ended..." As Vance continued his words, he noticed Remira’s gaze and shut up for a bit.
The relationship of this boy with Remira had been sowhat aware of it. How this boy had partially saved Remira multiple tis when she had been pumped to the brim with bloodline suppression poison.
And that was just one of their eting together. They have t multiple tis before.
"And now you know what that boy is planning. So what of your mission now?" Alabasta on the other hand after so discussions with his student asked the Priestess. She already had her answer, she now knows why that boy was here.
Which is just what she wanted to listen to. "Then I catch the man that called him here. And for that." She said, looking toward the entrance of the caves. "That is if the Dragon Guardian would agree to it?" She asked.
She even talked about the paynt on her end and how she would never touch and even protect the dwarves that went in. Though the words of soone like the Cold Corpse Priestess can’t be trusted. Dragon Vesta had long been aware of this woman’s nature and her thod of doing things.
A simple word of mouth won’t do. This is why the Dragon made her go through a vow, which generally soone at the Priestess rank would deny, as such a vow is asking a third influence to take hold in her body, weakening her strength. What they say is true, the greater the strength, the higher the cost one has to pay for using a vow.
Though the fun part of it, neither the Dragon Guardian Vesta nor Alabasta bought on this promise. Both of them beca even more sure that sothing else was going on at the mont. Sothing far from what she was speaking of. Though considering they had already asked too much of her, they can’t say much anymore.
And as the group was planning to lead into the caves after so further discussions. Remira spoke from the side.
"Sir Alabasta and Knight Vance, you both can go in, I plan to stay behind for the mont." There was a bit of guilt in her eyes, which everyone caught on to.
Sothing that wouldn’t be possible in Old Remira, she would be confident in everything she did before. But that kind of confidence has only brought her pain. So she was abandoning that arrogance she used to have.
Be humble, be rational in any situation you co across, and never let your emotions lead you to do stupid things.
And at this mont, it was that rationality that made her stay behind. "I could protect you inside." Alabasta thought that Remira might be better with cold feet coming so close. But Vance who had known Remira for far longer understood what her intentions were. "Master you think wrong, she is not staying because she is scared... she is staying back to stop Farhad from entering."
"What an odd thing to do... if he ventures inside along with us, we can end him without any problem with the churches," Alabasta spoke while looking toward Cold Corpse Priestess who did show an angered expression followed by words. "He is not only under our protection, but also the protection of the Cynark Emperor himself."
"The only reason you care about him so much is due to the flas that burn in his heart. And if he dies those flas will rightfully be brought back to us."
"I don’t intend to kill him. Not for now, so Priestess doesn’t have to worry about it. I promise that by the ti you are outside, you will find him bound and ready to be taken back." Remira spoke while bowing to the Legendary Priestess. Who after turning silent for a bit nodded. "You can harm him, his body can take it... " Were her words before she left for the gate.
As for Alabasta, hearing these words from Remira did confuse him. "Little Knight, you should know what you are dealing with, are you not?" He asked, showing so disappointnt. "You should never show pity, never show kindness to potential enemies."
"When the enemy had been influenced by that Wraith."
"If he had been influenced by that Wraith, then I can influence him back to our side." Remira had thought this through for a long while. She had seen friends turn enemies a lot of tis, which after a certain point makes her wonder, what is it that keeps pushing her friends to their side.
Why is it possible for Jester to keep expanding his network, recruiting new people, and even starting a cult?
She wanted to understand what this appeal was. Why would soone willfully work for a demon like him and not even give her a chance?
Well, the answer was obvious after her recent eting with Sheva.
’He listens and doesn’t push.’ The Radiant Way of doing things is to be forceful. Their thod is scary to normal people.
Most will probably prefer that soft-spoken Wraith to a flaming arrogant Knight. "Pushing people will just keep strengthening our enemies. Our approach, it’s not going to work, not against an enemy like Jester."
No more threats, no more arrogance, and no more detesting others for their birth or background. Such actions will just keep putting people off of Knights, including people like Farhad.
"You are starting to talk like Majodhar," Alabasta spoke, showing a hint of disappointnt. "You do you... for now. I will be going ahead."
With those words, and with a hint of disappointnt, Alabasta left. Followed by Vance, who did apologize to his Master, but this apology was only for the tone. It would be a lie to say he didn’t agree with his Master on this point.
