Chapter 139

It was now morning, and the sunlight filtered into Damian’s room, causing him to groan awake. As he tried to stand up, he felt a heavy weight pressing against his chest.

Glancing down, he could see Lizzy’s beautiful face resting peacefully on him. With a soft smile, he carefully tucked her hair away from her face, which in turn caused her to stir awake.

"Good morning, love," Max greeted with a wide grin.

"Good morning, Damian," Lizzy replied with a slight yawn as she rose from the bed. She stretched her arms, wincing slightly before limping toward the bathroom.

’I can’t even imagine the pain she must be feeling down there. Indeed, won go through a lot,’ Max sighed inwardly as he got out of bed. After a few minutes, Lizzy erged from the bathroom, her hair damp and skin glowing from the steam.

He went in next, spending about twenty minutes cleaning up and getting dressed. By the ti they were both ready, they decided to head out for breakfast. The mont they stepped into the hall, the sweet, mouth-watering sll of food filled the air, making their stomachs growl loudly in sync.

Walking into the dining room, the duo found Mia and Camila happily chatting while setting the table. The two won looked up at the sound of footsteps, and Camila’s smile widened.

"Good morning, you two."

"Good morning," Max and Lizzy greeted in unison as they took their seats.

"How was your night? Hope it wasn’t painful?" Mia teased with a loud chuckle, causing Lizzy’s cheeks to flush crimson.

Max didn’t even flinch; he simply grabbed his plate and began devouring his food like a starving man.

"Wh...what do you an, Aunt Mia? I slept in my room," Lizzy muttered shyly, staring down at her plate.

"Oh, please. Cut the act. I’m sure our neighbors must have heard your screams, so what makes you think we didn’t?" Camila chuckled, casually scooping rice into her mouth.

"So... so you aren’t upset?" Lizzy asked softly, finally lifting her head.

"Upset? Hell no. I had even proposed the idea to Damian the first ti we t, but he dismissed it," Camila replied nonchalantly, continuing her al.

"And you both aren’t jealous?" Max asked, glancing up from his plate.

"Why should we be? As long as there’s plenty to go around and we get our turn, who cares how many won you sleep with?" Mia said with a shaless shrug.

"Then I guess I’m lucky to have such beautiful and understanding won in my life," Max said with a genuine smile, looking back down at his plate.

’I loved only one woman in my past life on Earth. She betrayed , cheated on , and murdered . And here I am now — maybe the universe decided to reward my pain by giving won who not only love but also understand ,’ he thought silently as he continued eating.

"So, how was your first ti, Lizzy?" Camila asked, leaning forward with curiosity, her eyes glimring mischievously as she looked at her daughter.

"It... it was pleasantly nice... and painful," Lizzy muttered, her cheeks burning red. She didn’t dare et her mother’s gaze not out of fear, but from the sheer embarrassnt of discussing such a topic with her.

"I an, it’s always painful at first. We’ve all been there, but gradually, you’ll grow to enjoy it more," Mia said casually, her mouth half full of rice.

"Hey Damian," Camila suddenly said, turning her gaze toward the dragon, "I can’t do it with my daughter, and I’m getting bored with Mia. When are we getting more people?" she asked, her tone half teasing but her eyes serious.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Hold your horses, you shaless woman. What’s the hurry for?" Max asked with a loud chuckle as Camila clicked her tongue in response.

"What did you expect to do when you were away for months?" Camila scoffed, crossing her arms and pouting slightly.

"So you an I don’t treat you well?" Mia asked with a small scowl forming on her face.

"Huh? What are you two even talking about?" Lizzy asked, completely lost as the conversation flew over her head.

"No need to ruin your innocence, cutie," Max said with a teasing smile as he finished his al and chugged down a full cup of water.

"So, what are we doing today?" Camila asked after a short pause. "Now that you’re on a little break from college, how about so fun between us all—except Lizzy, of course, for obvious reasons." Her grin widened mischievously.

"Actually, I was aning to ask," Max began, his tone turning serious as he leaned back in his chair, "have you received any calls from an unknown number between yesterday and now?"

"Huh? I don’t think so. Why?" Camila asked, frowning slightly.

"Nothing serious," Max muttered with a shake of his head. "But I need to get myself a phone soon. Actually, make it two—a burner phone and a smartphone. Can you help with that?"

"That can be arranged," Camila said with a nod as she shoved a spoonful of rice into her mouth. "But what unknown number are you speaki..."

Ring! Ring! Ring!

Camila’s phone began vibrating loudly on the table, interrupting her mid-sentence. Everyone’s attention shifted to the device as she leaned forward to check the screen.

"Huh?" she muttered, seeing an unfamiliar number flashing on the display. "I think this might be for you."

She tossed the phone across the table toward Max, who caught it effortlessly with one hand. Without hesitation, he swiped the green icon and placed the phone against his ear.

"Am I speaking to Damian?" ca a feminine voice from the other end.

"Kelly?" Max asked imdiately, recognizing the voice.

"Thank goodness you’re safe," Kelly breathed out, relief flooding her tone. "Good news—I finally located the Gray Bulls Gang’s base. I’ll be sending the live location to this number right now."

"Wait, live location? Are you there right now?" Max’s expression darkened, and he shot up from his seat so fast it made the chairs creak, stunning the won at the table.

"Yes," Kelly whispered back. "But don’t worry, I’m hiding sowhere outside the base. I’ll leave as soon as I send you the coordinates and you arrive."

"No! You don’t understand, you need to le..."

Beeeeep!

The call cut off abruptly. Almost at the sa mont, a notification popped up on the screen. Max tapped it quickly, and a map appeared showing a blinking red dot—the live location.

"What happened, Damian?" Camila asked as she stood up, concern written all over her face.

"I need to leave now. There’s sothing I have to handle," Max said briskly. His voice carried a sudden edge of urgency.

Without waiting for another word, he turned and swiftly exited the dining room, his movents sharp and determined. The sound of his footsteps faded down the hall, leaving the three won in uneasy silence.
